From the USA TODAY bestselling The Academy: Ghost Bird series, comes a different look at the very beginning. Read Introductions with a whole new perspective--the boys'.
Nathan Griffin's entire life has been about protecting himself. After his mother ran away to save herself, his father turned his attentions to Nathan. His critical, booze-fueled attentions. That kind of abusive attention was the last thing Nathan needed.
When he joined the Academy, it changed his life. Now he's finally settled in a place where he can be himself, not be wary and afraid all the time, and sometimes even feel completely normal.
One day he discovers Sang Sorenson. She's stuck in a fallen tree and he's instantly drawn to help her. She's not only sweet and adorable, but she's brave and daring, traits Nathan absolutely admires.
The more he hangs out with her, the more comfortable he gets around her. The more he wants to know her and let her know him. There's a growing sense of familiarity he's only gotten from his friends, other boys who have been abused and broken. Could she be like him? There's something off with her and he worries about her background and her past.
If she'd only tell him what it is, he'd fix it. He knows he could. He'd do anything if she'd just give him the chance.
Loved reading from Nathan's POV. I think it gave us a bit more insight into him. About his character. I think most people assume he is an a$$hole and doesn't express his emotions enough. But I think it's the opposite. I feel he is still a very insecure little boy and would rather push people away than deal with the pain if they left first. He feels things, but on a different level and differently than the others. And the fact that he is still dealing with his father's violence plays a huge factor in his emotional stability. I'm excited to read about the others. Gabriel and North are probably the ones I'm most excited for.
From all the meetings so far I love this one most. I have a soft spot for Nathan. And I can't believe how innocent he sounds from his POV. I thought for sure he was different after reading Introductions. I can't wait for Gabriel's POV.
Even not liking Nathan I had to read this one... I don't usually like series with slow burn so I can't tell you why I love this series so much but I do. Reading this small Pov really makes me me want to reread this series again!❤❤❤
These Meeting Sang books have such great potential but the author RUINED them making them third person pov! WHY!? What was her reasoning!? It should have been THEIR pov! From the characters minds not some second class narrator! This is also coming from me. I hate first person pov but if you're getting their side of things then make it about THEM! I am so mad at C.L. Stone for pulling this shit! She's AWARE of first person pov because the whole Introductions book was Sang's pov ffs! Sigh. Well, it's HER book... If she wants to destroy it, it's her fucking prerogative.
It's just another normal day for Nathan. Nothing special except that he's finally alone at the house. With his dad gone on a trip, he can finally breathe and take it easy a bit. Then he meets Sang on his run in the woods. There's something about her that just draws him towards her. She's funny and quiet and nice, but there's something about her that seems off. Something seems wrong. Whatever it is, though, Nathan is willing to help her. He only just met her, but already he feels a great friendship brewing.

Nathan has such a caring heart. He doesn't really talk as much as the others and doesn't show it as much, but you can always tell he's tender-hearted. I love how easygoing and easy to talk to he is. He jokes around but it never feels forced. I really liked how deep into Nate's character this went. This one shows a lot more about him and his life than Kota's and Vic's stories showed of them. It's a lot longer, too. I think it's just because a lot more happened in his chapter in Introductions than in the others'. I'm really disappointed that that probably means Sean's and Owen's stories are probably going to be really short, because both of their chapters in Introductions aren't long and nothing much happened in them. Bummer. I'm really looking forward to theirs, though, and I hope Stone releases them soon.
The story actually had a few things that don't appear in Introductions. In Nathan's chapter in the first book, they skip time a bit, and this short showed just a tiny bit more of what happened between those moments. It was cool getting a look into things that weren't in the first book, and I'm glad Stone added a little to give the reader something new that they hadn't already read.
There were a lot of writing errors: the usual mistakes Stone makes in her book, like misplaced commas and modifiers, wrong tense form used, missing or wrong articles, missing direct objects or words, etc. She needs better editing.
Overall, I really liked this alternate POV. I think it's been the best so far, since I feel the past ones I read only felt like they were stating the facts of what happened and not actually showing anything really new to the reader.
Nathan’s POV turned out to be different than what I expected. He was much more unsure of himself, less of the confident facade that we get to see from Sang’s POV. It really made me warm up to Nathan all the more, especially since he’s such a lovable guy to begin with. Again, love the concept of reading through all the guys perspectives from Introductions.
Can’t wait to read all the other perspectives from The Ghost Bird series!!
I have gotten very into reading Reverse Harem novels lately because of this series. It's super hard to find decent ones that don't just read like fan fiction and this series is quite good actually. This series is really good though, it is slow to develop but that allows for more books in the series which is a good thing. Both the characters and the story are fully fleshed out and well written. I'm enjoying becoming invested in this world and pleased that I discovered this author.
I absolutely love reading the guys POV. I thought it was very sweet that Nathan had the urge to look after Sang before he knew anything about her home life, so the connection was already there before things got serious.
It was lovely to see Sang and Nathan playful in the swimming pool just a brief glimpse into how a carefree Sang could be.
OMG! I love these novellas! We get to read more about the boys before they met Sang and how they reacted after meeting her for the first time. Thank you C.L. Stone for giving us insight to the boys. Can't wait for Gabriel! FANTASTIC job C.L.! I would highly recommend this book.
I cannot even tell you how in love I am with these characters. The entire series is so freaking good! I cannot wait for the next book. I read through everything and then went back and started again because I wanted to see it develop knowing where it would end up.
I love these glimpses into the guys feelings and I cannot wait to read Gabriel and North. Or Dr Green and Mr Blackbourne.
I think I had the hardest time connecting with Nathan in the books from Sang's perspectives, but it's mostly because he keeps so quiet about what's going on in his life for so long. Seeing his perspective here, I really feel for him and have a much better understanding of his reactions later in the series, particularly when it comes to Sang.
Got this as a free epub from C.L. Stone yesterday as a Christmas gift and I loved it, Nathan is so insecure about how Sang could like him that it's sweet. I am glad that it was made from his point of view. I can't wait to read the other 5 members points of view.
This was so cute! I loved getting to read from Nathan's perspective. I also really like getting to learn more about the guys and their lives at the beginning of the story. I'm now eagerly waiting for Gabriel's chapter!
YA. Contemporary. Rh. Male POV. Nathan's first meeting of Sang. Can't what for Gabriel's. Always love the guys povs. It put a nice prospective on the story.
I loved it. I'm already impatiently waiting for Gabriel's book, then Luke's, then North's. And please someone tell me Mr Blackbourne and Dr. Green will get a turn too. Can't wait!
I was pleasantly surprised. I'm NOT a big Nathan fan in the main series, but I really enjoyed reading his perspective in this book. Maybe he'll irritate me a little less now. :)
