Ron was an avid hunter and a die-hard skeptic. So when he was given the opportunity to purchase some private land that had been posted for thirty years he was thrilled. This just had to be a wildlife haven. It didn't take him long to find out that the land was teeming with wildlife and many more things that he couldn't explain. Ron's world begins to slowly unravel as he comes to realize that things aren't always what they seem. Don't miss Ron's true encounter with the unexplained!
I've read quite a few of Melissa George's books, both regarding her personal experiences, as well as other books relating the experiences of others dealing with cryptids or the paranormal. The Watcher is an account of a decidedly non believer who comes to learn that Bigfoot is indeed real. The narrator is an avid woodsman who was granted access to a friend's prime secluded territory for hunting purposes. After many years of thinking others are crazy for believing in Bigfoot, he finds that his close friend does indeed have Bigfoot on his property. A series of unexplained encounters with both Bigfoot and unusual lights on the property. He actually has an opportunity to own the property himself, which he does take advantage of and moves in along with his wife. She joins him on a number of occasions and is already a believer in Bigfoot. While he has had a number of encounters, he is fortunate that they have been mostly positive in nature. Only a few were less so, and he is very lucky things have not gotten worse. It is interesting to note his change from skeptic to believer and he learns to document and record evidence. The book is written in his voice, so it is a bit uneven and rambling at times. It is still a good read.
Although I loved reading about Sasquatch I was really fascinated by this book's description of portals and orbs in the forest. Also I have heard rock clacking too. There is a frog that sounds like this but we all know that Sasquatch imitates animals'sounds.
The main storyteller is quite funny...he's very into denial and hiding his feelings throughout the story. If only he got out of his own way earlier and he would have figured it out sooner!
Melissa George spins another great, eerie tale. Her stories, based on true events are consistently gripping and spell bounding. This story is no exception. She weaves a scary story of one couple's interactions with a Sasquatch called the Watcher. Creative and genuinely unnerving. A great addition to her collection.
I've read a lot of these books and this one left me wanting more. I thought it ended pretty abruptly, but that's how it goes sometimes. maybe I was just sorry I finished it?
The Watched was an interesting read but a little slow going. As a true experience it's frightening to think someone actually went through this. If recommend it to Bigfoot conisiours.
I had to give this book 5 stars. Well written, easy to read and after the first few chapters it got addicting! Whether you believe in Big foot or not this book is a compelling account of a couple’s experiences when they move to a new house.
A lot of books can take some effort to read and keep up with it. This was easy to read and I enjoyed every word. Hopefully there will be some sort of sequel as I totally loved these two and are curious as to their remaining journey.
I love these true stories into the lives of people experiencing Bigfoot phenomenon. I read this one in one afternoon. I hope this family decides to do a Volume 2. I'd love to know how things turned out for them.
This kept me reading until the end. I didn’t want to put it down! If you like reading factual BIGFOOT encounters you will love this book! The author relates the story in a way that keeps the reader engaged. Certainly worth 5 star rating!!!
This was an interesting and informative ,excellent read. I myself was just happy the dog was okay ,yes my husband rolls his eyes at me when I say thing's like that.
I really enjoy Melissa George's books - and this one did not disappoint. Bigfoot enthusiasts will enjoy this true story. I especially liked the fact that this person also addresses the paranormal aspects of Bigfoot that many are afraid to mention in their personal accounts. This story is fast paced and you will not want to put it down until you have turned the last page.
