Chi is entered into a "Chic Cat" competition, but maybe she would do better in a "Funny Cat" contest instead... Later, the kittens decide to go on an adventure when they hear of a faraway place with a sumptuous feast!
I love the stories in this volume! Chi playing with Yohei is really sweet, and I love that there is a dog that loves cats so much, but the kittens aren't sure what to do with him (I have a dog like this).
Still cute and adorable in this volume. Chi is all about playing with her friends outside. Yohei runs away and Chi is afraid of something brought into the house. Graphics are still awesome and absolutely love this series!
Chi's Sweet Adventures Vol. 3 was a cute read following the adventures of an adorable kitten.
Chi is back in a new series following Chi in her everyday life with the Yamadas. From cat lessons with Blackie to learning how to jump, Chi's life goes from one adventure to the next.
This volume continues to cover moments in Chi's life that we didn't see in the Chi's Sweet Home series. I like that this series is set during the same timeframe as the original series as it means I don't have to give up the characters I came to love during those books. Blackie, the older cat who teaches Chi how to be a cat, is one character I'm so happy to get more of. His endless patience with the kittens is great but the moments he becomes exasperated with Chi are just as great. This series does introduce some new characters though which was nice as it added a bit more to the world.
The art style in this series is wonderful with bright, colorful illustrations that perfectly capture the adorable animals. There's also a nice level of detail in the drawings but not enough to be distracting. Chi's chaotic nature really comes across well as the author does a great job capturing that kitten energy. Chi's action are so similar to my own cats that I love watching what she gets up to. My only complaint about this series compared to the original is that they started having Chi use baby talk (i.e. angwy instead of angry). I get that they're trying to show Chi is still young but it's distracting.
Overall Chi's Sweet Adventures Vol. 3 was a fun continuation of the series and I will definitely be picking up the final volume soon.
