What if staying alive means saying goodbye to your family?

Kade may have prevented an attack on his Captain's family, and worn the brunt of a brutal beating, but he's running out of time to escape a job he's starting to detest.

Caught in a no-win situation, he's forced to choose between his own happiness or his sister Meg's. No matter what he does, his decision will tear his remaining family apart.

Still homeless but accepting refuge with the Stormers, Hadley is given permission to travel into rival Stormers territory to find her missing brother.

Things go from bad to worse when Kade's health deteriorates and she's forced to watch him face a threat that might just kill him.

I'm so sad this series is over, but the ending was perfect. This is the third book in the trilogy. The story is continuous, and you need to start with book one. The Stormers series is available on Kindle Unlimited.

Receive ties up the loose ends, and gives our characters a place to call home. This series has had some good twist, and this book continues in the quest for truth. Hadley and Kade set out to find her brother, and what is happening to the missing boys. The quest opens more cans of worms, and the couple have their hands full. Secrets and lies make our characters stronger.

I’ve really enjoyed this series, and would highly recommend it. It’s a dystopian world set around a troupe of fighters. It has a romantic setting, but it’s a love story more than lust. The characters are loveable, and the adventure is exciting. I read this book using my Kindle Unlimited subscription. The poor fight back, the Royals get what they deserve, and everything isn’t always as it seems.

This book was gold.

I've loved the trilogy up to Receive, but it is the icing on the cake for this trilogy. SOOOOO GOOD!! Was the most intense yet and absolutely LOVED the romance between Kade and Hadley. I was surprised at least twice by a turn of events and have to confess that I feel bad for thinking down on Carl. You see so much of his character and just had a big smile on my face with the overall ending (for everyone).

I do want to highlight one thing that I super appreciated about this story though. I thought it so fantastic that the author portrayed a realistic relationship between Kade and Hadley, but also one that I think shows what it means to also have a healthy relationship. It was obvious both wanted the other, but Kade would not let things go that far out of respect for Hadley (and Cester's "stupid" rules). Does that mean things were easy? No. Yet they were both able to stay strong and found it to be simply awesome to see a romance that reflects the struggle and "reward" of waiting.

Overall, loved reading these characters. Loved the plot and the story. It was exciting, intense, and fun. I immensely enjoyed it and very sad to say goodbye. Good thing I can always reread because I know I wouldn't mind doing so. ;)

A mostly satisfying conclusion to the series. Finally, Kade and Hadley are reunited, but their passion for one another may get in the way of their final retrieval: finding Thomas, Hadley's brother. In this book, Kade and Hadley confess their feelings for one another, which made the fangirl inside of me very happy. However, because of their physical desire for one another, Captain Cester rightly tells them that they must have an accompaniment on the quest to find Thomas. And the only person available happens to be Carl, who doesn't know that Hadley and Kade are unofficially seeing one another and kind of likes Hadley. This doesn't result in a love triangle, but it does make things interesting. Then, the issue with Thomas is thrown in there, and it turned out very differently than I had imagined. There were also more secrets with Cester and what really was behind the boys' disappearances. All of it made for a very interesting, page-turning read.
However, the character development was a bit disjointed. I don't know if it is just because I wasn't looking for it, but Hadley seemed to go from strong to weak to strong again in one book. And then there's Kade, who I guess changed from being closed off to being more open. Also, the loose threads of the boys and Thomas seemed to be wrapped up very quickly (then again, this is YA, so maybe I should expect that?) So this is why I said the ending is mostly satisfying: some parts were very clearly and cleanly wrapped up, but some parts seemed rushed to finish. But I still enjoyed the book immensely.
Content Advisory: As I mentioned above, there are definitely sexually tense scenes in this book. This is not erotic, but it gets very-well, for lack of a better word-hot. Because of this, I am not sure I would hand it to my younger teen daughter (if I had one).

I've been consistently surprised by Sarah Addison-Fox's books and Receive was no exception. It was a thrilling, twisty conclusion to the Stormers trilogy that I found really interesting. Kade and Hadley's relationship continues to grow and deepen. Their romance is one of the most unique I've ever read about - in a good way! They support each other and it's awesome.

Cester continues to be a favorite. I did NOT see that twist about him coming but it fits really well. I also dig the entire world of the Stormers trilogy. It's unique and interesting to 'travel' in. Hadley goes through a lot in this book, just like the others, and without giving spoilers...she finds that what she's been searching for has been hers ever since she stumbled into the Stormers' camp. <3

A great ending to a good series!

A nice wrap up to the trilogy

Did the story leave me wanting more? Sure. There is still so much more happening in this world that could carry this series on, but for Hadley and Kade, it's just the wrap up we need to round out their adventure. I'd recommend this book and series to teens and older.

Loved it , loved it, loved it.

Oh did I say I loved it?

This concluding book of the trilogy was awesome. Action packed from start to finish and twists and turns you’ll never see coming. There were times when I was spellbound and other times when my heart was in my mouth. A definite emotional roller coaster ride. Amongst other things happening, Hadley completes her quest but you realise the adage that “ be careful what you wish for “ rings true.
The characters throughout the book again remain strong , as you would expect coming from the pen of Sarah. I shall miss them all and will have to revisit them at some point.
Please take the time to read this series. You won’t be disappointed, I certainly wasn’t.

This was a beautiful conclusion to an amazing series. This book was definitely worth the 9 months of waiting I had to “suffer” through before finding a friend who had a copy of the book. This book just confirmed my love for Kade and Hadley. It also confirmed my love for this series and Mrs. Fox’s writing in a whole. Seriously y’all if you have not read one of her books before what are you waiting for read one now!

I read the first two books again before I read this one so I could remember ever small detail and I am thankful that I did. I was able to reconnect with these broken but such lovable characters. I was able to see even more into their past in this last book. I don’t think I can pick a favorite in the series because every book was just as good – well maybe even better – than another.

Everyone’s character growth grew so much in this book, I was happy that Carl finally get his head screwed on straight. He actually was a really fun character when I didn’t want to punch him. Kade’s character just continue to grow and we got to see deeper into this poor boy’s life. I was very happy with Hadley’s character development in this book. I loved how she finally found herself.
Kade and Hadley’s relationship bloomed so much in this book I was squealing and jumping around. They are just too cute together and I love their relationship as a whole. They were there for each other through the good and the bad. They had a deeper relationship than just physical touches and other junk that you see in most YA today. They were serious about their relationship. Yay, for real and authentic relationships!

The plot thickened and was resolved wonderfully in this novel. I had a hard time putting it down. I love how Mrs. Fox wrapped everything up in this novel. She did a wonderful job at it. I can definitely say that she is one of my all-time favorite authors.

Overall, I highly enjoyed this book. I am super sad that this wonderful series is over, but I know that I can always go back and read about these characters’ adventures again.

What a great series, but the conclusion felt a little too summarized for me. Both Kade and Carl are recovering from injuries when they have to both escort Hadley on a mission to find her brother and get answers about the missing boys. Loved that Luna was there as well.

Kind of a spoiler but the character most disliked in this story: Thomas, Hadley's brother. For the sake of the story I understand why he is written this way, but wow. Hadley sacrificed so much to find him and was relentless in pursuing him only to find what she finds. Even in a YA story, this detail could have been written a little less harsh.

It was difficult for me to love this story because of all the lies, the corruption, and the slavery these boys are forced into with the promise of being fed and surviving. It's not a life anyone should have to endure even in fiction. Despite the violence and hardships, the story is still well written and clean. Carl describes a torture scene that happened in Book 2 that I felt was unnecessary and both he and Kade had a chuckle over it, wish I had skipped that paragraph. Was also disappointed about how Kade handled setting up a future for him and Hadley, after they have kissed it seemed like the romance was gone. I suppose that's written because of the fierce warrior Kade is, but I would have liked more sweetness between them at the end.

Am glad I found this hidden treasure in my kindle, it's rare to come across a series like this with adventure and great characters written for sensitive readers like myself.

I can’t say much about this book right now. I feel like I have been put through an emotional wringer, but in the very best way possible. As I said in my review of book two this is marketed as a young adult series. I haven’t been young in a while and I loved it. I have read too many adult fantasy books lately that focus too much on the relationship between the two main characters to the detriment of the fantasy story. This book balances this a lot better maybe because of its target audience. I recommend this series.

The third book in Kade and Hadleys story and this one is to me is the best one. Although I really did love the other two as well. Shes still looking for her brother while Kade might be forced to choose between himself and his sisters happiness. These two are just so amazing and I absolutely loved them.

This was a great way to wrap up the trilogy. The Story line was good, the character work was great, and the book had a smooth flow to it. Once again, I was entertained from beginning to end.

A great ending to the trilogy.

I liked that Kade and Hadley were now open about their feelings from close to the start so that there was an entire book for them to develop as a "couple". It was fun to see Kade and his cringe-y cousin doing what they do one last time. There was a good explanation for a couple little mysteries(with Cester for example). I completely did NOT see the twist with Thomas coming. Hadley is questioned about her relationship with Thomas and what kind of brother he is by a girl at the inn she spends some time at and by her response I immediately started thinking about it. Hadley's determination to find her brother ruled out any thought I might've had about his character.

There's a satisfying ending for everyone. Bad guys get theirs, and the good guys find some peace in their lives finally.

Again there was enough errors for me to feel like this desperately needed a good editor. (one example be the misspelling of lessened as lessoned). I think the series as a whole deserves to not lose readers who may be turned off by numerous SPaG mistakes.

I kind of wished there was an epilogue 5-10 years down the road just to see how everyone was doing. That's always a good sign when you're curious about fictitious characters fictional futures. :D
