The Chronicles of William Wilde, Books 1-3

Rate this book
At seventeen years old, William Wilde was orphaned because of the magic in his veins. Eight months later, Serena Paradiso enters his life. Captivating and confident, she holds secrets about William’s heritage. His friends know them, too.

They watch William, studying him, wondering if he's the one for whom they've been waiting. So does Kohl Obsidian, an undead horror who seeks to devour William’s magic.

Far greater stakes arise when William learns of the hidden island of Sinskrill, home to the mahavans, magic users bent on humanity’s enslavement. Worse, the legendary god, Shet, banished to Seminal—a place of monsters and corruption—seeks to return to Earth, the world he ruled millennia ago.

In order for William to survive these dangers, he needs more than skill, will, or power. He must learn to trust his friends and forgive both them and his enemies.

Author’s note: You don’t have to read my other series, the Castes and the OutCastes, to enjoy the Chronicles of William Wilde, but there’s some crossover of characters from the Castes, such as Rukh and Jessira. Also, William Wilde is set in the 1980s, the decade in which I grew up (Yay ‘80s!), so there’s a lot of references to movies and TV shows from that time.

"

Davis Ashura is an author of such sublime depth and beauty that his works have been known to cause a tear to fall from the eyes of even the hardest of hearts.
Just kidding.
But he does write.
This humble writer, who refers to himself in the third person, resides in North Carolina, sharing a house with his magnificent wife who somehow overlooked Davis’ eccentricities and married him anyway. As proper recompense for her sacrifice, Davis then unwittingly turned his magnificent wife into a nerd-girl. To her sad and utter humiliation, she knows exactly what is meant by ‘Kronos’. Living with them are their two rambunctious boys, both of whom have at various times helped turn Davis’ once lustrous, raven-black hair prematurely white (it sure sounds prettier than the dirty gray it actually is). And of course, there is the obligatory strange, adopted cats (all authors have cats-it's in the by-laws). One eats everything placed before him and the other has the world's stinkiest breath.
When not working – nay laboring – in the creation of works of fiction so grand that hardly anyone has read a single word of them, Davis practices medicine, but only when the insurance companies tell him he can.

Wow, what a series.

When I got this boxed set, I thought, ok, lets see how this story breaks. I finished all three books in two days total time. The last book I started at 11:00pm and read it straight through, finishing it at about 4:00am. I just couldn't put it down. It grabbed me from the first chapter and kept me involved through to the end. I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out. Thank you for the thrill ride.

Chronicles of William Wilde, Books 1-3

I really loved these books. They introduced William and his friends after his parents and brother are killed in a car wreck. His friends and his mentor Zues. Then throw in a new girl to add to the mix. The bully from school is the football hero with rich friends and of course, the most beautiful girl. Accidently, the bully, Jake finds that he has a lot more in common with William than either of them imagined.
Very well developed characters. Great plot, and very fast paced exciting action. Nothing bad to say, can't wait for the next one!

Great character development. The intereraction between between William and Serena will make fir a great ongoing story. Although there are quite a few characters they continue to make for an interesting story development. Great battle scenes when the group go to Sinskrill to save and bring back Fiona and the troll Travail to Arylyn ( the home of the magi)

A great set of 3 books and I look forward to the continuing story of how The powers of Sinskrill want to get revenge and bring back William, Sereana, Fiona, Travail and Mr.Zeus and enslave them.

Captivating!

What a terrific series! I was captivated from the start. This series ties everything together and really clarified things for me. New characters mixed in with ones already known and still to be explored in Davis' next series that started with Testament of Steel, leaves me on tenterhooks waiting for the next book!
