When cold case detective Ryan Deveraux is approached by a man who says his long-incarcerated father has been wrongly convicted, he thinks it’s simply a misunderstanding. But as he digs deeper into the horrible double homicide for which the man is serving a life sentence, he sees that things don’t exactly add up.
With a single witness to the crime and evidence that implies the true motive behind the murders is more twisty and sinister than he could have ever imagined, Ryan finds himself climbing through a deadly family tree that might take him out forever.
The outspoken owner of a rebellious Hyacinth Macaw, David Banner is an author living in the Coastal Southeast. He has always loved the beach and the open water, is a movie lover and spends way too much time playing catch on the sand with his Airedale terrier.
David also enjoys cooking foods from countries he plans to visit and often times gets so caught up reading about foreign culture he forgets to turn off the stove.
He hopes to keep writing Florida based adventure books while exploring his ever-increasing love of the water.
The characters are well defined each with just enough flaws to make them real. The mystery of each of the books in this series are complicated so it keeps you guessing how each person ties into the murders and other criminal acts. The settings is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the ocean view and landscaping details are vividly described by the author. Another great book I really enjoyed.
This was a waste of time. No great mystery, just a story of a mixed up man trying to justify his own selfishness while half way working the career he is supposedly good at, leaving broken hearts along the way. Disappointing
The flow and story were on pace with what I was used to from the other books, but the copy editing couldn't have been done by a human. This was by far the most poorly edited book I have ever read.
