This author is new to me but she won’t be for long. I’m going to read more of her books because they are that good. Layla had a hard life with her son after his father was killed. If that wasn’t bad enough, the person she least expected had a hand in it. That almost tore them apart for good.
This book had me feeling some type of way. 🤔 While the storyline had potential, I just couldn't vibe with the age gap, especially with Flock being a teenage boy. It made it hard to enjoy the plot without feeling uncomfortable. Despite the festive vibe, the age dynamic was a roadblock for me. If that's your thing, cool, but it wasn't my cup of tea. 📚✨
Even though Flock was young he showed up and showed out when it came to Layla... I do know one thing though her sister got on my nerves but what goes around comes around
“Santa Blessed Me With A Bay Area Boss” was inconsistent yet an entertaining urban superhero fantasy story. Kyle aka “Butch Cassidy” at fourteen Ms. Amor wants us to believe this little boy was wise enough to manage a crew of street larceny hustlers, and he’s the smartest one in the bunch. Why does he (at 6 ft 200 plus lbs) continuously break into Layla’s home through the window? …now that’s hilarious 🤣😂🤣🤭🥴🤨⁉️Why are these band of class clowns looking for “Bear” and attempting to flush or fleece him out utilizing young 🤬 RayRay, at the tender age of twelve 🤦🏾♀️. Also, Bear has been in jail since chapter three. He’s easy to locate🤷🏾♀️🤭. Thereafter, why is Lalya paying rent in chapter 19 (to whom), when their “father had paid it off” in chapter 2? Not to mentioned, Jelia stated this family home (third generation) is in her name. How? When? That makes no sense! My final observation, Kayla knew Jermaine was a hustler. Did she not know his street name was “Kongo”?If so, how did she nor Brandy not ever hear rumors “them niggas the one robbed Kongo.”? All relevant information, because it’s highly improbable Kyle could sustain himself & the reckless criminal activities he subjected himself to. And why would Layla be attracted to the person which conspired to have your fiancé robbed & murdered? Whether his age or her, both numbers are relevant numbers ‼️
& of course we have another banger on our hands😂😂 which is to be expected lol this was a 5star read for me hands down💯 it was crazy how everything played out i can’t believe jelia was sooo trifling to the point she had her sister husband killed in front of her & her son! She got everything she deserved! I’m glad lay was able to look past everything Kyle took part in but i have to say she was stronger then ever cuz lord knows i think i would’ve lost it especially when everything hit the fan! But I’m glad Kyle & his mother was able to rekindle their relationship even though it took for him to be damn ear on his death bed for her to do so! My favorite part was the ending how Kyle & his mother was able to forgive 1 another & accept lay & jay into their lives! But girl please tell me we will be reading more about Kyle & lay in the near future🤷🏽♀️😂 cuz i needs to know how this pregnancy is going to play out as well as the rest of their story! Keep up the great work ❤️💯
I enjoyed this book. It’s funny how things played out. I couldn’t stand Jelia. She was so hateful. She didn’t care how she treated her own blood. Funny how things ended up turning out for her though. She was so caught up on a dude that he turned around and did her dirty. Kyle may have made some back decisions but he was still a good dude. He had one shady friend. I didn’t trust that dude for nothing. Layla was a good girl. She had a great friend in Brandy. Those two were more like sisters. Layla was also a great mother. She wanted the best for her son. I was happy with how things ended.
I think of all the Santa Blessed Me....books so far, this is my favorite. There were a few mix ups of her and him or she but it didnt take away from the book itself. The other elements of jealousy, deciet, love, and "ratchetness" were present. I didnt like the things that Flock was involved in but im glad with the final impact he had on Laylas life. I was also cheering at the end scene with her and her sister...lol. This is one of the books that you will enjoy reading.
I absolutely loved this book. Yes, it was out of Ms. Scott’s norm of book writing but she did an amazing job. This book shows just how talented she truly is. Flock was rough around the edges for sure, but all he wanted was somebody to give him the love he’d been missing. Lay gave him that plus some. They balanced each other and showed one another what it’s like to take a chance on somebody who’s not always deserving.
So glad she forgave Kyle and followed her heart. Kyle finally got his mother's love even though it took him being shot for her to read the err of her ways also her sister finally got what her krama and her but kicked for the sneaky things she did. I'll be reading more of this author's books bc this was my first team by her and I really enjoyed reading this one
Flock was hell! Him and his whole crew just living a street life until he accidentally finds love without looking. My heart went out to Layla because she didn’t deserve the hand she was dealt…Jelia was a trash sister period. Everyone needs a BFF like Brandy I loved her. Age ain’t nothing but a number when your boo is a Bay Area Boss. I really enjoyed this read from beginning to end and I can’t wait for more from this author
Wow, it will be your family that will sometimes do you dirty!. Age aint nothing but a number! Layla deserved happiness and she was provided with happiness when she encountered Kyle, though the meeting was not ideal, it started something new for both of them. There were some obstacles , but life threatening situations has a way of having a person rethink life and the importance of forgiveness! Great read!
So….who falls in love with the person that breaks into their house? I think that I’ve read one other book by Barbie Amor, but I really enjoyed this one. It was well written, flowed well and definitely kept my attention. Although Kyle was much younger than Layla, I thought that their relationship was so cute. I’m so glad that Kyle’s mom finally came around. Gump and Jelia got just what they deserved.
This was a great read! Flock didn’t waste any time staking his claim on Layla! They both had issues that interfered with their relationship, however they got thru it! I was also glad his mother canes to her senses and was the mom he longed for over the years. I had a feeling Gump was gonna try something grimy with Layla!! His karma was served and there was a happy ending with Layla being pregnant! Love happy endings!
Barbie Scott really did her thing with this one. Kyle aka Butch Cassidy was truly a angel 😇. I was so glad he pulled through and He and his Mom were able to patch things up. Brandi was a true friend 💯💯💯 unlike her trashy sister😡😡😡. These characters would make for a great spinoff😉.
This was good Christmas book it has so many lessons and blessings Kyle mother was wrong for turning her back on him because of what he did it's sad how some things have to happen in order to forgive and let go I'm happy that layla forgave Kyle & they moved on her sister got what she deserved
I have read All of Barbie’s published work. It is awesome to see her constantly evolve as a writer and create these characters that resonate with all. This story is about holiday loss, love and redemption. Check it out, promise you won’t be able to put it down.
I was feeling so bad for Kyle. This book/author made me feel true emotions made me feel like I had meet Kyle and Layla or had pass them on the street. I'm so glad his mama came to her sense although I would have loved to know what fueled her hate for her child (just seemed like it was something there "unspoken". I'm glad there was love for them in the end.
Well brandy is a really good friend she was down for whatever went it came down to her friend and o.m.g she is engaged so happy for her and 2nd I'm so glade that flocks and layla worked things out and Jordan love his new step daddy there relationship is everything also happy that Kayla and flocks are having a baby layla flocks is so right age ain't nothing but a number but layla is sister the devil it self never thought a sister can treat her sister and nephew so horrible I really enjoyed this book so much i hope there will be a 2
Haha you did it again. At first this read was very complicated and twisted. I didn’t want to like Kyle but he seemed to love Layla and Jordan. His friend was a straight hater. Jails was a hater too. It took something drastic to happen in order for them to realize they belonged together. Great read!!!
I Loved This Book...Hopefully It Will Be A Spin Off To This Book Or Something So I Can See How Kyle, Layla, Cast, And Brandy Relationship Is Going. Layla Sister And The Dude Gump Got Exactly What They Deserved. It's Crazy How Kyle And And Layla Got Together But I'm Glad It Worked Itself Out. Loved It! ❤
Family aint sh!t!! It don't make sense to be so damn jealous of yo sister like that. She been hating on the girl for years. Setup her bd and tried to blackmail Kyle. But Kyle dickmatized that ass. Lol even though he did some messed up stuff he was still there to make sure she was protected. You can't go wrong wit that.
Wow this book was really good. It was my favorite out of these series of books. It was different yet cute with Kyle and how he hooked up with Layla. It was a quick, fast read yet I truly enjoyed it. Good job Barbie.
Murder, secrets, loss of a loved one and jealousy is what you will read about in this book. It will hold your attention to the end of the book. I would love to see these couple's again in another book.
Omg it have to be a spin off i need to know how Kyle and Layla, Cast and Brandy life is going. F that sister that’s what she gets and her karma. That damn Gump she told him watch his hating ass. Sis you don’t it again i loved it keep it up boo!
I loves Kyle and Layla’s happily ever after. I’m glad she finally took a chance at love again. I loved his bond with Her and Jordan. He’s a great man for stepping up to the plate. Great Job!!
This book was everything omg I couldn't put it down lay sister is a grimey one I'm glad some karma came back to her and I'm glad that lay is not suffering for the holidays anymore she definitely deserves it...and flock friend definitely got what he deserved
Kyle Mother was something else, I get being disappointed in your child but she took it to another level. Jelia she was to spiteful but she forgot about Karma.Layla I’m glad that she was able to let go and move forward...
JEALOUSY...the hate from somebody you don't know is always crazy, but the hate from family is tough. the love that theses two poured into eachother. yes it was alot of bull that came with it, but it was genuine
