Audrey and her friends only wanted to get back at Hope Barcomb for being a bully. But soon their prank blog post about Hope's father, the dean of students at their high school, gets out of control. Reeling from the consequences after coming clean about her involvement, Audrey jumps at a mysterious chance to do it differently. But will keeping quiet about the prank really be the answer she was looking for? Or was she better off before her do-over?
I'm halfway (3/6) through these YA minibooks, all centered around getting a "do-over." This was by far my favorite of the half I've read so far. The bad decision(s) felt completely believable for this, definitely something that impulsive and short-sighted teenagers would do. I also ended up really liking the direction it went with the do-over and the complexities it wove in regarding adolescent friendships and sort of a cycle of karma, as it were.
Audrey and her friends are tired of Hope Barcomb and her jokes. They decided to take action by posting a false blog about the Dean of the school aka Hope's father. Things just didn't go right and the word spread out. Will a second chance solve all these chaos?
A book in the Do-over series. Four friends involved in the school newsletter and blog, plan revenge on one of the 'cool' kids at school. They decide to target the girl's father, an administrator at the school. The prank goes terribly wrong, escalating out of control. The group of four decide to keep their secret, however cracks start to appear in the friendship. One of the girls, Audrey is given the chance of a 'do-over', have the opportunity to change what has gone before. Will she take the opportunity? Easy to read.
