Interesting new characters -- a lazy weather personification (not sure if he's going to be a repeat) and a "mean sempai" witch who isn't actually mean, just a bit uptight and not good at smiling.

Certainly a fun cozy read..
Rather than a story it moves forward with a series of occurrences..some funny/some weird and some witchy.
That's fine with me!
There's a whole bunch of characters who spin in and out...some when there needed for a chapter others just for giblets!

Summary:

Makoto Kowata is a witch. Or rather, she's a witch in training. As such, she has packed up all her belongings (and cat) to live with distant relatives. It's a bit of a family tradition – a way of sending young witches out into the world - but in a gentler way.

It seems that there are witches (and potential witches) all around! Not only is there an aspiring witch within the household, but there's a witch in training within the school. In other words, there's plenty of potential allies and fellow students for Makoto to practice with.

Review:

This series is so endearing and calming. It's no wonder I was looking forward to reading Flying Witch Vol. 6. This volume may be my favorite yet – mainly because there's a sizeable cat-familiar subplot (that was really cute and fun!).

That said, I did enjoy meeting another young witch. I love that they made a point of having her act very differently from our Makoto. It's important to remember that witches come in all kinds. We also must remember that despite the casual way we see magic portrayed, it isn't something everyone knows about.

I'm still really loving this series and will be sad to be caught up with it (because I've gotten quite used to binging it, obviously).

Highlights:
Slice-of-life
Witchy Tale
Cat Familiar

Such a good one! Loved meeting another witch and the cat familiars with their want for the pork cutlets. Loved the job at the end and seeing another magical creature. Makoto is learning so much more about her world and the jobs she will do.

Family get-togethers, cat adventures, and Makoto gets a second job.

Good thing: I adored the two part story of Chito and Kenny (the two cat familiars) who travel to Makoto's school to try out the pork cutlet lunch.

Bad thing: It's hard to like Sayo, another witch at Makoto's school, at least at first - she's prickly. I'm sure she'll grow on me.

This series continues to be light, fluffy fun. If you need a marshmallow sundae of a manga series, jump in! I'll definitely be reading the next volume when it's published.

The mixture of smooth and clever world-building with the slice of life atmosphere and pacing works so well for me, I enjoy this series very much and recommend it strongly.

This volume was sooooo fun! We were introduced to a couple of new, interesting characters, and we got to see a few new settings as well. There was also a nice, mystery-esque feel to the latter three chapters - all of which followed the same plotline. All-in-all, this was a very fresh and almost-weirdly informative installment to this adorable, witch-y manga series. ^_^

Pretty good volume. I didn’t like it as much as volume 5, I think because there were less of the characters we already know. I did love the story of Chito & Kenny making their way to the school to get pork cutlets though. 🐱

We also got a new character/friend/other witch for Mako to get to know and work with - wasn’t a huge fan of her at first because she seemed very stand off-ish but then her texts were very full of emojis and that was funny compared to her dour exterior.

I’m not as much a fan of the action scenes as the slow, character oriented ones so the part of them trying to catch the Narunaru wasn’t my cup of tea but still a fun volume.

This was an especially fun volume in the series, perhaps in part because it finally got to chapters I hadn't read already in scanlation. It continues to be a very laid-back and episodic, but there are more things developing like Chinatsu getting magic and the introduction of a senpai witch at school. Also, it is a bit curious that chapters 33 through 36 all happen in one day; given the relaxed quality of the manga I sort of assume things are more spaced out, but sometimes events are more closely packed than I would expect.

This was another really great volume. I enjoy the series a lot, It’s very cozy. It’s very kind of slow paced. I don’t know. I just really enjoy it. I especially enjoyed the chapter on Makoto getting a new assignment for shamanic work and working together with her schoolmate, who is also a witch, to capture the NaruNaru. With every bit of lore that is revealed about how magic works in this world I just fall deeper in love with the story and characters! I have thoroughly enjoyed every volume of this series so far and it’s one I’ll definitely be continuing and will cherish for years to come.

I'm glad more slow-paced titles like Flying Witch are being translated into English. Neither the art nor story is astounding, but both are relaxing and enjoyable. I feel like the cover art keeps getting better and better - this volume especially! - and the townscape and night sky have a lovely ambience.

Catching up with familiar faces, and being introduced to several new characters in Volume 6 of Flying Witch. From a celebration for Chinatsu, Snow in July, Chito and Kenny going on a school adventure of their own and Mako meeting another witch and getting her second job. This series continues to be light and fun, I am looking forward to Volume 7 coming out this year.

More fun and fantastical slice of life stories in this volume. Always a pleasure to read and a little sad I have to wait for the next volume to be released. This summer I believe? I'll be waiting and reminiscing fondly on more of these great short tales!

I enjoyed this because we learned more about magical creatures and different rules and policies in witch society but other than that it wasn’t too memorable for me. Not sure what was missing but I did again enjoy the role of food in this volume.

A party, snow in July, and a fellow witch at school are Makoto's adventures in this volume. The funniest idea was how and why the snow happened in July. The new character is interesting, very serious, yet has a few characteristics that eases the edge. Plus, their duo job was fun to follow.
