i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of a young woman named Camilla, the daughter of a mafia boss, and Luca, an enforcer from a rival family. Luca and his partner Enzo kidnap Camilla one night while at a club and tell her friend it is because of her father. Luca and Enzo were working on orders from their Don and were told not to hurt Camilla. Their boss wanted a territory for himself and thought her father would give in if they had his daughter. On the way to the hideout, Enzo was shot and Luca was left to care for Camilla by himself. Camilla woke up and realized she was kidnapped and knew her father would come for her. Days go by and Luca learns there has been no new word from her father and Camilla is starting to doubt if he will come for her. When Luca is ordered to hurt Camilla and send pics of her bruised, he doesn't want to hurt her, but knows he will be killed if he doesn't. This was a good story. I liked Luca and thought he was stuck in a life he didn't want. i thought he really was a good guy and i think Camilla changed him. Good one.

ONE DARK DELIGHT!!!
Wow! Oh man, talk about biting off more than you can chew. If you're looking for an action packed, fast paced, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning bombshell that keeps you riveted to every word. Congrats my friends you've found. A whirlwind of emotions and events that pulls at those heartstrings. All the drama, fear, uncertainty, danger and suspense increases while tension spirals as the plot thickens in this fantastic storyline. Twists and turns, ins and outs, unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises make for one thrilling experience. The characters are complex and believable with such depth and individuality it's easy to relate. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Ava did a remarkable job bringing this read to life. Incredible job Ava, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Gianluca and Camilla’s story is powerful one with whitty behaviours from Camilla and courageous ones from Luca ( Gianluca) making this story simply breathtaking. These two powerful characters have a lot in common in terms of “mafia” life and this knowledge allows them to find each other and love each other unconditionally and find their HEA. I loved the moral issues they’re confronted with and the choices and decisions they had to make. Very powerful stuff. I recommend you read this book;it’ll blow you away!

Luca(Gianluca) is sent by his boss to kidnap the daughter of a rival boss he has no idea what is in store for him. Camilla is instantly attracted to the man that has taken her captive she has always known that she must do as she is told but now she will use her body to gain her freedom by seducing him but who is seducing who and while the families negotiate what will stop them from falling in love and if they do will they have a future together. This is a fast read that is a pulse pounding sensual ride with enough suspense and drama to keep you flipping the pages may sure you allow plenty of time because once you start it you won't want to put it down

Sometimes being in the wrong place at the right time works out even when a plan goes wrong. When Luca was sent on a mission by his Mafia Boss to kidnap the daughter of a rival boss he had no idea how drastic his life was about to change. When Camilla first saw Luca, something stirred inside but what came afterward was nothing she could have envisioned. This was a fast paced quick read story of love between rival factions. There are some surprises and twists and turns that will keep you reading.

Just who is the captor in this story, Luca or Camilla? Told to kidnap the daughter of their rival Luca takes her and holds out until further instructions. In the meantime, Camilla is not taking this lying down! Oh no this damsel will use everything in her power to get away and Luca has no idea what's in store for him. This action-packed thrill ride will have you on the edge of your seat. It is brilliantly written with vivid details that takes your mind along for the ride! I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This is an exciting, dramatic Mafia Romance. The storyline is fast-paced, thrilling, has danger, a kidnapping, defiance of an order from a Mob Boss, steam, a little dark and gritty, suspenseful and rival Mafia families. The main characters are developed, attracted but reluctant and soon find out that the original plan wasn't unfolding as it should. I liked it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

I love Mafia romances and Ava has again written an exciting, action-packed Mafia romance. This incredible fast-paced read will hold you captive until the final page. If you want a passionate gritty love story with spine-chilling suspense and sizzling romance “Defiant” is for you. I most definitely recommend.

I loved the beginning of this story. It set the tone for the rest of the book. I loved how he turned out to be such a great character. I also loved how the author wrote her to be a wonderfully strong character, especially in the face of her circumstances. The story evolved from a mafia story into a romantic connection with a twist. Well done.

Great Mafia Romance! I love this short story! Camilla and Luca's story is really well written. The storyline is suspenseful, action packed and thrilling. I totally recommend it! Ava Bloom never disappoints. I love her writing, and I would love to listen to her stories in audiobook! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This was a great short read based in the mafia world the daughter of one family and an enforcer of another. Luca was a reluctant captor against her beautiful and forceful captive camilla. Waiting out their time while the head bosses cut a deal. It was light and funny in places.

Another good story by Ava Bloom. This is filled with action, and characters experiencing a wide-range of emotions. I love The tactics Camilla uses in her attempts to escape from Luca. Both want to leave their mafia families. I read this in two days.

They dane go to the bar for a shot Quikley ailla passes out. This is when we find that Lua and eno are there on the behaf of Giuliano Lobardi. ailla is now a bargaining hip for Giuliano.
