Count Me In

Rate this book

Steve’s life isn’t going too well, but there’s one thing he can cling to: his band. It’s his last tour ever with them and he’s trying to make as much of it as he can.

He doesn’t have anywhere to go back to since his long-term girlfriend broke up with him.

And he can’t blame her, because ever since he started having domestic dreams about the band’s vocalist, there’s very little else he can think about.

But Steve is straight. And even if he isn’t—though he definitely is—there’s no way confident, bubbly frontman Avery will go for him.

There is just too much to lose. There is no way they can risk the band, or worse of all, their friendship.

And anyway, Steve is sure Avery doesn’t like him. Not like that. And he definitely doesn’t plan to find out.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This was a quick story about Steve and Avery. Steve was a drummer in a band where Avery was the lead singer. They were on a farewell tour and the band was disbanding afterwards. Everyone agreed they wanted to pursue other things and Steve was acting different as the tour went on. The guys were worried about him and when Avery asked him what was wrong, Steve told him his girlfriend broke up with him. Steve also had no where to live after the tour, but he really didn't tell Avery the real reason why they broke up. Steve was having feelings for Avery and dreams about him, but he didn't know what they meant because Steve always thought he was straight. When Steve decided to tell Avery how he felt, he risked Avery hating him and not returning his feelings. I liked this quick read. I liked how Steve really thought about his feelings and knew he would never forgive himself if he didn't tell Avery. I also like how the others supported Steve and worried about him. Good one.

Quick read about a band member's sudden and confusing attraction to his long-time friend and gay bandmate, and the internal struggle he faces in deciding whether to tell the other man about his feelings or keep silent. I liked the internal dialogue from Steve as he tries to parse his feelings. Avery's gut reaction to first think his friend is joking and then to run away rather than figure out his own feelings was realistic. I would have liked to see more of the romantic relationship develop, but this is only a short story, so there wasn't much time for that. Good quick read.

This is a great novella, that is quite a nice little book. It is full of uncertainty just as is life, and and taking chances. Steve is a drummer in a small band, he and his friends are on their last tour as a group. He finds it hard feeling worried once they do their last set will they still be as close. He also has discovered some new and interesting things about himself as of late. So we find ourselves on journey with him.
It is well written and quite a amazing read. I absolutely loved this book and recommended it very much. So grab it asap.

I like a story that is a bit different. This is nice and well written. Nice storyline and plot. A taboo topic is handled with fine lines and the borders are well described. How to go from straight with a girlfriend to a man that would do anything to have the guy in front of him. A bit of a new direction but when do you have to give in to your love and feelings? What will the surroundings say and what about the one you would like to have? A lot of internal feelings and thoughts that has to be dealt with.
This story felt a times realistic and that made me read on. But I missed some depth to the story and some more insight in the developing part of their attraction and relationship.

Avery was part of a band called Livid he was also gay, this was their last show altogether the guys have been performing since they were 16 and now they were in their 30’s and they have had enough. Avery fancied Steve but Avery didn’t know that Steve felt the same way after all Steve had just split up with his full time girlfriend so Avery let it go. This is a short story guys so I can’t give out too many spoilers, it’s a great story and I recommend this book.

There is a desperate-ness in the story that totally fits. It is the end of the road for the band, literally, and the beginning of the rest of their lives. Gay for you - friends to lovers, whatever you want to call it, the snippet in time we get to see is packed with self -reflection and a HFN. A very worthy read when you have about an hour to kill. You will be entertained.

I liked this story a lot. I liked the narrative and the opportunity of seeing the story from both of the main characters's point of view. I really liked the main characters because they were friends first and then lovers. I also liked the story because it was short and sweet. The author does not overuse words.

Avery and Steve are part of a band and this short story takes place on the last part of their farewell tour.
Avery came out to his band members, and childhood friends, sometime ago but recently Steve has started to have dreams about Avery and this has confused Steve. He wants to be with Avery but is worried it will ruin everything if he says anything and his frustration is making it difficult for everyone.

This is a short fast paced story with Steve coming to terms with himself and his love for Avery. The author does a great job bringing out their emotions and moving the story smoothly to a HEA. I enjoyed reading their story.

Lina Langley's Count Me In and a fun, quick romance.

Avery's had feelings for his long time friend., Steve. They are on the farewell tour for their band when things start to change for these friends.
I enjoyed this cute read. I like the way Steve handled things with Avery, and of course, I like the happy ending!

I liked this one, I liked the way Steve used the countdown to hint to Avery how he feels and even though it was a big risk to tell Avery how he felt about him, he took the risk because he felt that strong for Avery, it was sweet. I would happily read it again

This was a cute GFYish story about a band that is on its last hurrah tour. The out lead singer has become the object of the straight drummers affection. So as the band is co.ing to its end another group appears to be forming. The angst and caring among the members was neat.

This is the 5th book I’ve read written by Lina Langley; she has done a good job at writing a good book.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book. I can't wait to read more of her books.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This is an emotional story about embracing your own emotions and facing the truth. When one chapter of life ends, another one always begins. What will Steve's new beginning be with the tour coming to an end? Great story with lots of emotions and turmoil.

This is a great short story. Steve and Avery are part of a band on their last tour before they quit. Steve makes a confession that Avery is unsure about. Will the come together in the end or will they go their separate ways?

Didn´t expect it to be quite so short. I think I am more used to - and I like more - longer format.

This felt like... is that all?

It was basically cut off at the moment when it was supposed to be just starting.

Well, at least I know now =D.

Livid is on the last leg of their last tour. Steve has broken up with Vanessa. He's been having thoughts and dreams about lead singer and best friend, Avery. What will Avery say if he tells him how he truly feels? Wish this went further. No sex or romance. Just a lot of angst until the end.
