Reed Sanders knew the first time he saw the neighbor girl in second grade that she was the one. He even stole his mom’s ring to seal the deal, but he got into trouble for doing it. It’s okay, though, because he knows that one day she’s going to be his wife and he’ll keep giving her the ring until then.
Cami Evans fell in love with the boy next door when she was seven years old. They spent their whole lives falling for one another until one day she’s taken from him. She spends five years with her father in a cult until she’s able to make her escape and find her way back to Reed.

One of the sweetest stories written by AR. I freaking loved it! It deserved more than a 5-star rating.
The story is about Reed and Cami.
The Sanders hired her father to take care of his mother's horses on their second grade. They moved to their guest house. And since then they became inseparable. At a very young age, their feelings for each other were already strong and it got stronger over the years. But what will happen if her father took her away from him and he couldn't find her?
I loved Reed and Cami both as individuals and as a couple. I loved how he took care of her. He always knew what to do with her and always made things better for her. I felt their love. I also felt their pain when she was taken from him. They're so lucky to find each other at a young age. It's just so wonderful.
One of the sweetest stories by Alexa Riley. There will be a twist and a small gasp in the middle of the book, but other than that it is a very safe read.
I loved the story behind the ring at the book cover!
4.5 stars ⭐️. So different from usual Alexa Riley nevertheless sweet and entertaining. I loved the initial chapters of young Cami and Reed. Their interactions and conversations was fantastic. The way he steals his mom’s ring at every opportunity was hilarious. Epilogue was too much fun. Recommended.
"Ringing in the New Year" is the story of Cami and Reed.
This is the SUPER ADORABLE love story of two soulmates who grow up and into love with one another. I fell for his heartwarming ring gestures (which then became a tradition), the angst was refreshing and the reunion filled with feels. Read it at 12 am, and if you want something sweet at the beginning of 2019, this AR goodie is the book for you!
Enjoyed it, and didn't even mind the double V card for once as it fit the plot and was believable. Also, lovely epilogue.
I adore that we got to see these two meet as kids and grow up together. Seeing a young boy find the “one” at such a young age and then innocently take care of and protect her was just so cute. I love the part the ring played throughout the story. Because they met at such a young age I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it did, I like how the authors handled it. It’s nice to know the authors kept it as a safe read. This is a great low angst read with a very protective alpha.
This must be one of the sweetest stories ever by Alexa Riley! It didn`t even have that much smut in it but was more about the relationship developement between Reed and Cami from being child-hood friends.I love that Reed stole his mothers ring all the time just to give it to Cami..now it seems like his son is doing the same by stealing it just to give it to Daisy 😍.(sigh)
I think the highest I’ve ever rated a novella is 3 stars, so two full stars is pretty solid. Decent character and plot development for a short and none of the important bits were missing. The MCs were just lovely and the H who waited five years for the h? Amazing.
They spent 5 years apart and we see the hero saying to a woman trying to flirt with him that he is married! This my friends is a loyal man because not even once he considers moving on, that is just not an option while she is missing. They were their first everything and also their only so there is no way I wouldn’t like it. He says to her that or he is with her or he would never be with someone else and holy shit I wish more heroes act like that. They are such a cute couple I want more books like that one.
What a quick, sweet and smexy 5 star read! Reed and Cami were an endearing young couple until they were not but you will find yourself rooting for them throughout the story! History repeats itself with Reed and his son, Jase ... so cute!
She said yes. It doesn't matter that Reed and Cami were only in the second grade. He held her to that answer throughout their childhood and in to their teens, when their relationship became what it was meant to be. That answer even survived the five years they were apart, a separation Cami's dad was responsible for and one that landed her in a cult, and in even more dangerous territory when her dad passed, leaving her at the mercy, of which he had none, the leader.
But she escaped, found a way to get in contact with Reed, and was soon reunited with her soulmate.
Reed was devastated when Cami disappeared, blaming himself for letting her go home that night, something telling him not to. She assured him she'd see him the next day at their prom, but it would be five long years before he held her again.
Both waited, holding onto their love, the belief they weren't done yet, and once again shared another first, as they were meant to and finally started their HEA.
One-click now and follow along as two people with a special bond from day one when they were children persevere over all to remain true to each other. I am really hoping Sam and Mary, and Jase and Daisy get stories.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
This was a great read from start to finish totally squishy feels.
Reed totally stole my heart from the start after he was watching her to keep her safe because his mum told him too, they had a special bond that he was determined to keep from childhood to their teens when the feeling they had become what they were always meant to be each others. But Cami is taken from him by her dad and they are separated for five long years where Reed never gives up the idea that she will return to him and once she does he will tear the world apart to keep her with him for always.
Cami gave up on expecting her father to act like a dad years ago having found a real family with Reed and his parents she learns what a family and love really is and should be but that was ripped away from her when her father takes her away forcibly and they join a cult. She dreams of returning to Reed and never gives up hope of their future together. After her fathers death Cami knows she must escape before she is forced to marry the leader. Once she is back with Reed can the love they shared still be true or has he moved on?
Reed as a boy is the sweetest thing ever!! And I loved how delicious he was towards Cami 💝
I absolutely loved the beginning of this book but during/after the 5 years apart it got a little unrealistic however....that's what's expected from these books, overall it was a good light read.
This is soooo cute & romantic story. Fill with tiny tears, loneliness and ended up with love happiness. I'm so rarely into virgin hero but this is an exceptional. ❤❤❤
I loved this book is was so sweet and sad and it’s impossible not to root for these two young lovers to get their happily ever after. Reed Sanders was in second grade when Cami and her dad moved into the guesthouse on his property after his dad hired Cami’s dad to take care of their horses. Whenever Cami laughed Reed would get a weird feeling in his tummy. At first he didn’t like it but then he realized he’d do anything to see her smile and hear her laugh. His mom told him to keep an eye on Cami at school because she’s new and she might be scared. Reed’s mom Kathy grows to love Cami and treats her like a daughter. Reed and Cami become inseparable and their innocent friendship turns into love over the years. The night before their senior prom Reed and Cami say goodnight excited about the next day. Neither of them had a clue it would be the last time they see each other until five long years later. A big part of Reed died the day Cami disappeared and he’s basically been going through the motions unwilling to give up on her. Reed was devoted AF and I loved that he never gave up hope that he would be reunited with Cami. This is a total cheese ball, feel good book that would make even the coldest person at least crack a smile.
This was such a cute book to dive into for the beginning of the year. It's short, super quick, and has a very cute and happy ending.
Ringing in the New Year made me fall back in love with Alexa Riley's writing. I feel like it's been a while since I've read one of her books and I'm so happy that I found this one on my KU. In it, you will suddenly fall in love with Reed and Cami. From a young age, they were destined to be together.
Reed always told Cami that they were going to one day wed. However, what they didn't plan on happening was her father taking Cami away. A handful years later, she's found. Cami barely escaped the cult that her dad took her too. It was such a cute ass reunion that they found a way to each other. It sucks that they had their hearts ripped out of them at such a young age due to this tragic event in their lives. Yet, they still found a way back to each other.
Plus, it was super cute that they waited for each other. They were each other's firsts and it jsut brought little tears to my eyes. It was wonderful and I loved it. The ending was also super cute because they got their happily ever after. I'm hoping, and praying, that they finally get their baby girl but their four kids were adorable. I also really enjoyed Reed's parents because I feel like once Cami came into their lives.. she was practically in the family from the first second they laid eyes on her.
Overall, it was super adorable and I definitely need another book by Alexa stat!
Ot seemed rather fitting to ring in the new year with a book of the same title. Plus, I wasnt sure what to read, and this was recommended by a friend. She swore it was amazing.
I did find this book highly enjoyable. I loved that even though the book itself is short, there was still the history of the characters. You got to see them grow up, see their relationship grow.
As with most Alexa Riley books, I do wish it had been a little longer, bit it was still a satisfying read.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of the book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Le sigh! Ringing in the New Year made me swoon from the very first page to the last. I'm such trash for romances featuring high school sweethearts or young love and it was done so right here. Reed and Cami were absolutely adorable from the time they are introduced in the 2nd grade and I really enjoyed the way that the authors used time jumps to progress their relationship. I also really enjoyed the way that Reed's family is involved in the story; they added another level of sweetness. This was the perfect way to end the year with the author duo - I only wish that it had been longer! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
⚜Rate :★★★✩✩
English: A new short story that tells the life of Reed and Cami when they grew up together, their relationship was very sweet. I would like to know more about the time when Cami ran away and how she lived her life, but being a short story and I knew I wasn't going to see it further. ⚜Rate :★★★✩✩
ME HE ENAMORADO!!!!!!
