Blackout

Rate this book
The thing about darkness is that you never know who's lurking nearby. Detective Skye Jones lives a simple life. Between the interrogations and arrests, there are wedding bells not far ahead of her. While investigating Richard Winn, a man she believes to be the king of the local drug trade, her fiance is hurt and ends up in the hospital. Not long after, she starts receiving threats and notices the same black car following her wherever she goes. It isn't hard to figure out that she's the drug lord's next target. But she's too stubborn to step away from the case. Undercover as Skye's partner, Ronnie is there to find the evidence needed to arrest Winn. It would be another criminal take down for the FBI agent , but he can't seem to figure out how to get along with Detective Jones. It doesn't help that all the evidence points to Skye aiding Winn. As tensions increase and Skye's life is on the line , Ronnie's realizing that the real culprit might be closer than anyone thinks. Both Ronnie and Skye search to bring the truth from the blackness before it's too late. Hoping that they made the right choice when it comes to trust.

The book has an amazing plot. I found the mystery really interesting and many twist and turns that kept you on your feet. The author has a lot of info on how a crime case is investigated and it shows by the way she tells the story. Even though I loved the story, the book could use some editing. I was surprised what got by the editor like repeating words or misspelling. If the book gets an update fixing some of the grammar errors then it'll be a 5 star book.

Oops, the errors get in the way of the story.

Nice story but it needs extensive copy and grammatical editing. An update would be helpful and make the book easier to read.
