Meet VIRIDIENNE Greene. A lanky six foot tall fiber artist, who didn't know she had a nose for solving mysteries until she found herself dead center in the middle of one. She quickly becomes both the hunter and the hunted when she decides to seek justice, tell the truth and expose the million dollar deception that resulted in the murder of her best friend. With little more to her name than a converted summer cottage in need of work, a spider plant, a rescued one-eyed ginger tomcat, and a lot of determination, VIRIDIENNE heads into the fray. Outcome... uncertain.
Such a good book. Kept the action in every chapter and I am so glad it is the start of a series. The only drawback is the unnecessary cursing which is never needed.
A wonderful read full of jealousy, murder, and revenge. All conjured up by the industry of a psychopath. The character are frail, yet strong and imbue the read with every emotion going. It follows the path of one strong woman. Taller then most men, hurt, aloof and hiding her past whilst keep herself separate from the human community she finds herself in. An artist that has escaped the trauma of her youth and made just one friend. A pixie sized artist who is as hurt and vulnerable as she is. Her death rocks her to the core especially as she knows something of her past and the mob links that still keep her chained. Can she together with the two police officers unravel the past and find out who killed this brilliant artist? Can they restore her name to the pieces stolen from her? Can she herself find the sister she left behind when she left the trauma of her youth? What will she do about the young red headed young detective who seems to have developed feelings that are not 'procedure' to the case?
Viridienne Green, a fiber artist and art teacher, has a quiet life. She has only one close friend, Rose, a painter. When Viridienne discovers Rose murdered, she offers to help the police investigate and finds herself in danger. This book is well written, with believable characters and engrossing story. I highly recommend it.
