Hayatın her bir anı önemlidir ve hiçbir an diğerinden daha az ya da daha çok değerli sayılmaz. Mutluluğu bulmak için belirli bir anı beklemek boşunadır. Bunun farkında olanlar her anı mutluluğa dönüştürebilirler.
Rajneesh (born Chandra Mohan Jain, 11 December 1931 – 19 January 1990) and latter rebranded as Osho was leader of the Rajneesh movement. During his lifetime he was viewed as a controversial new religious movement leader and mystic.
In the 1960s he traveled throughout India as a public speaker and was a vocal critic of socialism, Mahatma Gandhi, and Hindu religious orthodoxy.
Rajneesh emphasized the importance of meditation, mindfulness, love, celebration, courage, creativity and humor—qualities that he viewed as being suppressed by adherence to static belief systems, religious tradition and socialization.
In advocating a more open attitude to human sexuality he caused controversy in India during the late 1960s and became known as "the sex guru".
In 1970, Rajneesh spent time in Mumbai initiating followers known as "neo-sannyasins". During this period he expanded his spiritual teachings and commented extensively in discourses on the writings of religious traditions, mystics, and philosophers from around the world. In 1974 Rajneesh relocated to Pune, where an ashram was established and a variety of therapies, incorporating methods first developed by the Human Potential Movement, were offered to a growing Western following. By the late 1970s, the tension between the ruling Janata Party government of Morarji Desai and the movement led to a curbing of the ashram's development and a back taxes claim estimated at $5 million.
In 1981, the Rajneesh movement's efforts refocused on activities in the United States and Rajneesh relocated to a facility known as Rajneeshpuram in Wasco County, Oregon. Almost immediately the movement ran into conflict with county residents and the state government, and a succession of legal battles concerning the ashram's construction and continued development curtailed its success.
In 1985, in the wake of a series of serious crimes by his followers, including a mass food poisoning attack with Salmonella bacteria and an aborted assassination plot to murder U.S. Attorney Charles H. Turner, Rajneesh alleged that his personal secretary Ma Anand Sheela and her close supporters had been responsible. He was later deported from the United States in accordance with an Alford plea bargain.[
After his deportation, 21 countries denied him entry. He ultimately returned to India and a revived Pune ashram, where he died in 1990. Rajneesh's ashram, now known as OSHO International Meditation Resort and all associated intellectual property, is managed by the Zurich registered Osho International Foundation (formerly Rajneesh International Foundation). Rajneesh's teachings have had a notable impact on Western New Age thought, and their popularity has increased markedly since his death.
My fav quotes (not a review): - Remember, ambition is the root of restlessness. Whoever seeks peace has to let go of ambition. Peace begins where ambition ends. - To see truth, we need the eyes of peace. He who searches for truth before finding those eyes searches in vain. - Look at a lake on a full-moon night. If the lake is calm, it reflects the moon. “Only one, my friend. A single anvil breaks hundreds of hammers because the hammers strike and the anvil endures.” - “Is there one single word which represents religion?” Joshu said, “In the very asking it becomes two.” But the questioner persisted, so Joshu said, “The word is yes.” To accept life in its entirety and totality is to reach the state of inner harmony. That is what samadhi, or no-mind, -Page 72 | "“I am in the world and also not in the world” – only when someone can experience this does he experience the mystery of life." -Page 86 | "simply a lack of light. And this is everyone’s problem. The truth of life can only be seen in the light of samadhi, no-mind. Long-term success requires individualistic contrarian behavior based on a foundation of sound investment principles."
Actually I don’t like that kind of books a lot and to be honest I didn’t like OSHO’s some other books previously. But surprisingly, I loved this book. I said “Underline this!”, “Stop and think about it.”, “Note this somewhere immediately!” and “I need to interiorise this!” lots of times. The only thing that bothers me in this book is that : Some facts were tried to be told again and again. Except that, everything was okay for me. Now, this book is in the books which I’m planning to read next year again.
This is an edited taste of Osho which is not actually Osho. Changing his words around to make a new book changes his messages from the original context. It is a wonder if he would of spoken how this book is spoken because you can be familiar enough with Osho to see him saying the opposite messages that this book contains. It is what Osho said, but like the Bible, edited into what he is not really saying.
This book opened my eyes. Let go of thought, find godliness, true wealth is godliness. The mystical, the spiritual, is within. Meditate, create wholeness. I loved this book. Only one part of my journey.
I was absolutely amazed by this book and I particularly recommend it to people who haven't read anything by Osho yet. This is a great introduction to Osho's style and beliefs, a combination between his unique philosophy with proverbs and stories from the East that make this book a complete guide to happiness. You can read this no matter whether you are a believer or not, Osho often refers to God but doesn't judge people unlike other philosophers who use persuassion as a tool to prove others wrong. The reason why I'm recommending this to beginners is that Osho has also written a plethora of books with deep, philosophical meanings where one can get lost - start from the beginning in order to be able to dive deeper. Topics discussed are desire, ambition, religion and faith, motivation, love, harmony and living with a purpose. It also reminds us the importance of learning, creating and that dreaming and action are eventially two totally different things. All in all, Osho shows you the path that you can choose to follow rather than educating you. Enjoy!
Finished reading "Life is a soap bubble" by OSHO. 100 short 1 page snippets carrying a lot of depth in each word! Loved it! Feel like re-reading it again :)
