Mike's Knockout: War Angels MC: Vernon Chapter

by J-A Slade, Jackie Gendron (Editor)

Estelle has spent years fighting. Fighting for her life because she was not ready to die. She wasn't ready to die when she was diagnosed with cancer at fifteen and she wasn't finished fighting after two more subsequent diagnoses. Now she's in her early thirties and what does she have to show for her fight? A cute little little house, a hugely fat cat, a great job she loves and . . . well that's about it. No great love of her life, no children, no plans for her future. That is until she gets a case that will change her life and she meets Mike. Can she take a chance on love again? Or will her ex-fiance's callousness keep her heart locked away forever? Mike had never planned on a relationship. He never wanted to spend more than a night with any one woman. After being injured while in the Armed Forces and picking up a debilitating stutter he didn't think he'd ever be able to talk to a woman again. Even after getting the stutter under control with a whole lot of hard work he was still a little gun shy. And then he met Estelle and the stutter came back full force . . . until he kissed her and the stutter disappeared completely. That is as long as they kept kissing. It wasn't a lot to base a relationship on, but it was worth a try, right? And damn but she intrigued him.

Mike

This is a touching story featuring Mike and Estelle. She's a cancer survivor and a local social worker and the perfect match for Mike. A lovely heart lifting story about survival and love.
