Lily Abrams spent the last few years since her husband’s death suffocating under a cloud of grief. She’s finally putting herself back together, but there’s one more thing she needs to do before she’s ready to step into the future. Her late husband’s best friend disappeared after the funeral, and she needs to find him and make sure he’s okay. But when she sees him again, she’s immediately suspicious. Something isn’t right about his new life—and she’s not leaving until she figures it out and knows he isn’t in danger.

Noah Benson has felt like a piece of himself was missing for as long as he can remember, but he was holding it together until one of his best friends died. Now he’s spiraling, but he’s determined to fight, throwing himself into his job as an Enforcer with everything he has. Then, Lily shows up out of nowhere, full of stubbornness and suspicion, and she’s digging into his life, determined to find answers to questions she shouldn’t be asking.

Noah hasn’t seen her in three years, but there’s a reason for that—the attraction he felt for her, that he never should have had to begin with. When Lily volunteers to go with him on a mission, he has to make sure she never finds out the truth—that he’s a shifter, and that he’d always wanted her—and he has to protect her with his life. Because if he loses her, he knows he’ll continue spiraling right into oblivion.

I don't know at what point I decided I wasn't going to bed until I finished the book. I don't even know what time it was when I came to the unconscious decision. I do know the time that I was irritated the the story was ending. You see I was ready to say goodbye to Noah (HUBBA HUBBA) and Lily.

The roosters were crowing natures alarm. It was time to get up as start the day just as the story was ending in a cliffhanger. A Cliffhanger!!!!!!! Luckily for fans of Grace Brennan is a writing machine. The wait will be over before we know it. I can't wait until I am falling deeper into the wonderful world of the enforcers.

You might be wondering what was so amazing about the story. Hold on to your hat because there is a lot.
1. If you like military romance go one-click now. Noah is ex-marine and Lily is the widow of
Noah's best friend that did not survive an IED. Benefit to the hunky shifter!!!
2. If you enjoy second chance romance get that one-click finger ready. Noah and Lily have always had
a connection but never acted on it because she was in love with her husband and Noah has too
much class to over step.
3. Dragon Shifters--need I say more?? Okay I am hoping for a lot more dragon shifter (hint hint
Grace Brennan) in the next book.
4. Mystery and suspense is weaved throughout the story.
5. Cocky Skylar, a hanger on at the B&B bar. Wait until you meet this guy!! He so corny.
6. So many hints. So many teasers of what is too come in the future. This author never stops. Her
fingers move faster than the energizer bunny.

I enjoyed this SHIFTERS book from Grace Brennan. This was a great read you meet Noah a shifter in a motorcycle group called the Enforcers. While there a ole friend comes to check on him Lily. Lily is a widowed wife of a best friend who died in the service where Noah served. Read to find out the romance between the two and they solve a case with other enforcers.

Oh and I will never look at a chicken the same again....LMAO

Noah is an enforcer and lion shifter who served in the Marine. When an ex war buddy widow comes to find him his lion takes notice. But the MC are chasing a bad guy and Lilly and Noah is ready to help. A great 2 book with combination of shifters and MC.

I don't even know where to start... I loved It. Granted I should have been sleeping, but I couldn't put it down. I liked Luke in Control, but I absolutely adore Noah. Lily is just great, she goes with the swings and never really gets ruffled. The only thing that will keep me on edge until the next book is that while Noah and Lily have found their happy end, there are sooo many loose ends. These are things I know Grace Brennan will get to at a later point, but damn I can be a bit impatient and I read too fast when a book really gets to me and this one did. My recommendation: if you love shifters, strong and sensitive men, woman who know how to deal with life, and a bit of a mystery - read it! HECK read everything Grace Brennan has written, they just keep getting better.

The Healing Power of Love

The final line in the book sums it up pretty well - "Goodbye painful past, hello beautiful future". The book follows the journey of Lily, the widow of Noah's best friend in the Marines, as they reconnect and together heal from that tragedy and forge a new future together. I loved seeing Lily's path back to fully living as she discovers not only Noah's secret but the joy of life. Noah must get past his survivor's guilt and is constantly surprised by Lily's strength and intelligence. There are quite a few heartwarming and sweet parts of the story as well as some funny ones. Not a lot of action, it was more about the emotional journey these two take, but this book has left me anxiously waiting to see how things will go in the next book.

Noah is so good, brave and kind. Will he find that missing piece??

Just. WOW! What a great story with plenty of twists and turns, stunning reveals and peeks into what will be an amazing future for Lily and Noah! There are so many storylines in this book and you just know there are going to be some great new books in this series. A long lost twin?? A bad dragon kidnapping females?! Damara is possibly lost?! Hold on to your seats, because this train is coming fast and furious!

Loved this story!! I have liked Noah since he was introduced in War Cats. Brennan packs this story with an emotional rollercoaster. Loved Lily the main female lead...she was one step ahead of Noah and his secrets. I loved the Twilight References... Overall another good addition to this series. Happy Reading!!

Getting a second chance

Loved this book and reading about the Enforcers and Noah's and Lily's story. Seeing a second chance at love, the mystery of the dragon, Noah's missing piece and seeing Lily as a badass hacker. Looking forward to the next book.

Thief

I read this book in one day. It was so thrilling I found it hard to put down. Nothing like a thriller and romance all tied into one book!
