Enter the lives of Rachel, Prudence, Miranda, Freya, and Rain, five women who are unlikely friends. These women are stuck in the cycle of a broken record—stuck without the ability to move forward.
They have three things in common: 1. they’re all restless, 2. they’re all wives, and 3. they're neighbors residing on an ironically titled street called 'Lyfe Rd.'
You will see their uneasiness, their up-hill struggles, their issues, and you will find that, despite all of the drama they go through, they're still human…just like the rest of us.
Filled with love, lust, lies, secrets, and drama, this first novel in 'The Wives' series is ready to take you on a roller coaster ride. And in more ways than ONE, you will find out that restlessness…is only the beginning.

You'll enjoy this book. Of course I'm a little biased since I wrote it, but it's truly a realistic tale of life. This first novel in 'The Wives' quartet introduces the reader to the five central wives of Lyfe Road: Rachel, Miranda, Prue, Freya, and Rain.
In this novel you're introduced to their husbands and their marriages and in more than one way, you'll realize that saying 'I Do' isn't always the best decision one can make.
Through drama, romance, a little suspense, and mystery, The Wives takes the reader on a roller coaster ride and leaves them craving more (if I do say so myself :)
This book caught my attention from the very first page until the last one. The author writes so well and that alone made me interested in the actual story. The characters will make you laugh, they’ll make you angry, they leave you wondering, and they’ll even make you cry. Some of the scenes broke my heart more than I thought possible. This story is definitely an emotional roller coaster and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Did I like this? Yes. Do I hate myself a little for not liking all the wives? Yes. I really didn't like Freya. She seemed so weak. As a mother of 2 I wish I would let my man walk all over me like that! But I guess that just shows how good of a writer the author is. you should feel things from a book. This was a very fast read and I really connected with the characters. FYI, Donatello is a bastard but such a good villian. And Derrick! Wow. I don't want to spoil it, but wow! Job well done on this first book. Can't wait for the next.
I truly enjoyed reading this book! I felt as if I could relate to a few of the characters; their good, bad, and ugly!! There are unexpected twists and turns that I wasn't "prepared" for, but was excited to experience nonetheless. I can not wait for the 2nd book in the series. This rising author is going places and I'm holding on for the ride!!!
absolutely loved this book! fell in love with Miranda's character! Her storyline was heartwretching! the other wives were interesting too but Miranda shone the brightest. I could've done without Rain. Her husband was more exciting then she was. Last thing this was such a well thought out book that I still can't believe this is a debut novel. job well done jay
really got sucked into the story. I think my favorites would have to be Rachel & Derrick. He's so conflicted and she just seems to have suffered almost as much as Miranda.
Job well done, Jay. looking forward to the next one
I thought this was a good start to a series im looking to see what this turns into with the 2nd book. some parts moved kind of fast, and there was a lot to keep up with but overall I enjoyed it
I really enjoyed this book. Met you at Bookstock and saw your goodreads on your bookmark and had to leave a review! This was a really nice story. Started off pulling me in from page one. You tell real stories and I like that. I felt connected to each character and didn't feel like anything dragged. great job! I am going to order the next book today!
Loved the intricate stories. Rain was pointless. Her husband could've been paired with someone else. I hated the ending. How do you end such a great book like that?!!? Hopefully the next book will do the characters justice.
