I have seen the play twice. While meant as a lighthearted take on that certain school, if you're a die hard fan this story should be part of the canon. Humor abounds for the fans of the books and only those people that have every watched the movies.

I chose to first watch this play due to being a huge Harry Potter fan, and I was immediately enthralled by it. It wasn't until I was cast in it in recent months that I had the opportunity to read the script, and I enjoyed it even more than I thought I ever could. Playwright Matt Cox has created a story that is not only entertaining to see performed, but also exciting to read. The script offers extra options for improvised bits of material, suggestions on how to perform, and additional information and notes about the writing and production of the play. For someone currently in the show, it is easy to understand the backstory of your character and what their motivations and feelings are towards different events happening around them. I would recommend reading this book to anyone currently involved in a production of Puffs, anyone remotely interested in Harry Potter, or just theater in general.

I make no secret of my unabating obsession with this play, which I have seen close to twenty times. The script is a joy to read even independent of the play, as you get to see cool variations on improved bits, some extra information about the show, and you can just revisit the really wonderfully written parts of the play if New World Stages is a bit far. This belongs on every Potter fan’s bookshelf.

I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had only read it in one sitting instead of 3. Still, I found parts of it quite funny. The hardest thing is fitting in 7 years of schooling into that amount of time. I admit that adds to some of the humor however, I would have enjoyed more.

Loved seeing this play last year, and read the script to see if I want to direct it. Yes!

Amazing play that I was privileged to be a part of! This play is almost like the wicked of Harry Potter, and I really enjoyed it!

Seriously hilarious. So many Easter egg jokes about the movies and books, and even the actors.

This play is hilarious! I would imagine it makes a difference being an HP fan (and true Hufflepuff) as some of the funniest lines are closer to "inside jokes" but playwright Matt Cox really writes funny dialogue and it topped only by the narrative stage directions. I'm excited to see this show produced by the high school where I work in the coming weeks.
