QUIET! Please?

Rate this book
After being alluded to many years ago in Rhymes Through Time, I have completed Quiet, Please. This selection of poems is arranged in categories as are the first two books in my "Jasmine's Wish" series. My voices have been writing poems for my entire life. Their constant jabbering is taking its toll. Despite my begging and pleading for quiet, they keep talking. Come on over and see how they can write about anything at any time. The categories may be set, but the topics are as varied as grains of sand.

I lived in Avon, NY until I was in college. My family moved to FL and I moved around the eastern US for about 10 years until settling in IN with my husband 17 years ago. We are truck drivers and have seen most of the continental US through work. I have 5 sisters and no brothers. We had one daughter, Jasmine, who passed away and have one granddaughter, Valerie who is now 7. I have written poetry most of my life. I have held many jobs, was a Math Major in college and am a Certified Electronic Technician. I enjoy reading, cooking, taking pictures, and writing.

Echoes of Emotions

Savoring the poignant words penned in each resonating rhyme of ‘Quiet, Please,’ the elicited echoes of emotions continue to reverberate long after the last page has been turned.

This poetry collection is subdivided into categories: People in My Life; Nature in My World; Visions in My Mind; Days in My Years; Pieces of My Heart.

The poet conveys painful truths pertaining to mourning, self-doubts, deceit, lies, bullying, disappointments, and disillusions. Yet, she reminds herself to seek light despite gloom, and to savor each day. She voices wisdom in addressing serious issues such as class discrimination and the ravages of war. There are also lighthearted and whimsical rhymes.

In my opinion, the most endearing poem is “Weep” for all of the disenfranchised it encompasses.

I highly recommend this poetry collection which teems with realistic perspectives reverberating with echoes of emotions stirred in the reader’s soul.
