Searched about every bookstore/museum shop in Berlin for a complete, yet concise history of the city when I finally found this one. It is truly striking how both division/duality and antisemtism have been part of the identity of Berlin dating all the way back to the Middle Ages.
Concise introduction to the history of Berlin. It shines describing and dissecting the era on which Stöver's research is focused (the Cold War), where it paints a broad picture of politics, economy, and society. Other parts are decent, but clearly not as knowledgeably written.
