ReeseMy life hadn’t been easy. At age 11, my parents and two younger siblings were murdered and I went to live with my grandmother. I was angry and hurt, so I let her go, until the night she came crashing back into my life. Secrets were exposed and ghosts from the pasts resurfaced, but I refused to let her walk away from me a second time without a fight.Duke is Book Two of the Blackwings MC series.Intended for audiences 18 years and older due to explicit language, sexual content, and violence.

I do not get the story. I thought its going to be a childhood crush romance. But it turns out to be a motorcycle gang. Maybe because I do not read the previous books on the series, I have no idea what is going on.

There is a baby, attempted murder, forbidden romance. I listen until 2 hours and finally give up.

I really hate this couple. They are both immature and dislikable. I won’t spoil the book with all the things I hated. But I will say it was full of drama and stuff I hate.

Reese has had a life no one would want to deal with at her young age, her rock though is her brother Carbon. Now an adult she finds herself gravitating towards Duke who is a member of the Blackwings MC with her brother. They are just at their beginning when Duke is injured, when he wakes though he lashes out at her dissolving any semblance of what they had.

Duke finds out Reese kept a secret from him and he wants answers. The problem is someone is out to hurt Reese and Duke has to deal with her brother not being too happy with the situation they are all in. Can Duke fix what he broke even though he misunderstood the situation at the time or will Reese move on without him?

This answered a ton of questions for me as I did not read series in order. You get more into Carbon
s background which is a must for his book. I liked Reese, she is a tough cookie. Duke has some groveling to do even though you get why. Another terrific read by this author.

The drama!!!???

Whew!! That was a roller coaster of I ever saw one! Duke and Reese went through the fire and then some to find some happiness! I’m still breathing hard and wiping tears from all the crazy and action stuff! Like literally every page is someone getting beat up, shot, killed, kidnapped literally every page!! I am chomping at the bit to read Phoenix’s story because I swear to God if Annabelle doesn’t rise from the grave like Jesus I’m getting someone’s behind!! Can’t wait!!! This was awesome!!

Lots going on in this one, the biggest stems from happenings in the first book. I will say, my thoughts were along the line of Duke's, so his harsh words to Reese made sense to me. Instead, Duke only had half the story and ended up missing out on some big milestones in his life. And much like the first book there were some surprises that came out of no where, really rocking the different characters. So much drama, so many secrets held by one, that affected many. By the end of this one things seemed settled more and new clues to more things they are searching for, along with some new allies.

This was just ok for me. Cant really put my finger on it but was just ok. The book is not very long - says 202 pages on my Kobo but each chapter started with a blank page.
The book is about bikers but didn't really feel like a biker book - maybe that's it. I'm used to reading biker books with more of a darker theme perhaps so this one was tame in comparison.
The story did flow though and had likable characters with tight bounds to each other which I do like.
I found some of the reactions of H/h over the top/childish but I did like that the H /h was faithful to each other.
Yes, technically H married but was done to help his sister and no communication with wife for like over 10 yrs.
The whole biker club thing was not dark, maybe that's it, it was very tame for bikers. Not a lot of sexy times but few were hot.

Overall, its a quick romance, faithful H/h to each other, with bikers behaving nicely ( other than the twisted token bad guy). I would recommend for quick romance, not for dark biker read.

I will read the next about the club president Phoenix only because of the mystery surrounding his missing wife.

Wow amazing

This is the second book ive read by Teagan Brooks and i certainly was not disappointed once again i have to thank Michelle Underwood for recommending this series to me ill be forever grateful .
There are a handful of books that make me one click them with out even reading a blurb and this series is one of them .
I'm so blown away by the twists and turns in Dukes book i didn't even see them coming i couldn't put the book down i just had to know what happened next which led me to reading it in one sitting.
Misunderstandings and words said in the heat of the moment turn Dukes and Reece world upside down which leads to Reece taking off for a year with no word or contact with Duke .
Then one phone call changes Dukes life forever and sets a course of troubled emotions, anger , hurt , relief and un answered questions and secrets to be reveled and not only is Duke and Reeces lives are forever changed but those of their club president and his daughter Ember.
This series gets better with every book and i highly recommend it to everyone . I wish i could give it more then 5 stars .

This story had potential but the execution fell flat. The conversation the two main characters should have had on page one didn't occur until 60% into the book. And even then it was initiated by an authority figure forcing them to talk. That's the kind of thing you do in grade school.

After reading the first two books in the series, I've realized there is little character development and no progression of a love story. To go from attraction to "I'll die for you" type of love usually takes time - or at least conversation. Characters in these books thus far don't talk...at least on the page.

I was ready to put this one down early on. I continued, hoping for an improvement. Ended up being just ok.

I don't believe I'll continue with the series.

I didn't like the book, the concept was nice and Duke is great, his back probably hurts because he carried the ENTIRE BOOK. I hated Reese, I get that she is been through a lot, but quit the victim act, girl. The girl HIDE A BABY FROM HIS FATHER and had the nerve to be angry with everyone who get angry at her for that. Besides, she had soo many mood swings that was extremely hard to keep up and treated people like shit for no reason. This is definitely one of the worst characters I have ever read.
I am disappointed because I really liked Dash, and Duke is such a good guy, he deserved better.

Holy freaking smokes batman! What a way to wrap up the majority of loose ends from book one! Now book one did not end on exactly a cliffhanger but stories continue from book to book so read in order! New revelations are shown in book two that keep you on the edge of your seat and ready to read book three! Somewhat of a cliffhanger with this book, think " who shot J.R." Type cliffhanger for those old enough to get the reference!😊 epilogue and Hea for Duke and Reese and a Hea for right now for the rest of the gang.
Thank goodness all books are available and free with K.U.
Each story focuses on individual couples finding love in the middle of chaos! Sexy times, drama, mystery, violence, love, friendships, family and brotherhood make this a new favorite series!

I enjoyed this book much more than the first one. Not as many errors or as much head space. You need some but half the book.

This is Duke's and Reese's story. Reese is Carbon's sister. Reese and Carbon have had a rough time in life. Lost a lot of people and themselves.

Duke is injured at the end of book one and while in recovery at the hospital while in a coma he over heard some things and when he wakes Reese is gone out of town. When he finds she is in danger he also finds out she omited telling him. He has a lot of groveling to do but is it worth it.

Fast pace and lot's of hot steamy time's...on to the next book

OMG. On the edge of my seat the entire time

I cannot believe it! Fabulously written! The suspense just about killed me. You can read as a stand-alone for just Duke and Reece but definitely should read dash first as there is an overarching story (that I can not wait for). Since I found dash as a stroke of luck I was really hoping it wasn’t a fluke and the series would take the off (sometimes I find that I don’t like the 2nd book as much as the first). Well written, great storyline, love the characters and descriptions/details. This book is so much more than the brief synopsis that I cannot tell you how eager you will be to turn the page!

*WARNING* contains explicit adult situations and violence
Duke of the Blackwing MC made a huge mess all because he couldn't ask a simple question.
Reese runs or hides behind her big scary MC brother. Reese needs to learn to stay and stand on her own.
This is book 2 of this series, but can be read as a stand alone. Brooks does an amazing job writing twisted, complicated plot lines, but they don't get to complicated to follow. These characters are everything I've come to expect from an MC book. I would recommend this to any adult romance reader.

Blackwings MC

Duke and Reese's story had a lot of twists and turns I did not see coming! Talk about a cliffhanger ending, but that did not effect my enjoyment of Duke (book 2), this is a series so there is an ongoing story line in each of the books, for maximum enjoyment the books should be read as a series. Well done Teagan Brooks, can't wait to read more!

Addicting!

I’m totally addicted to this series. I’ve read both Dash and Duke and now I’m dying for Phoenix’s book. I love the characters and the continuing storyline as well as the sassy, strong females! I only hope Carbon will be after Phoenix!

Very good story!

Overall. I liked the book. There were a couple things that irked me, like the H and h making up scene. Just didn’t like how both were okay with everything so easily...It just seemed rushed. But, I did enjoy it. I am so excited to read Phoenix’s and Annabelle’s story!

Seems like the plot only gets better and better as each book is revealed. Received a lot of answers to issues started in Dash’s book but of course, the plot takes another twist. Loved Duke and Reece’s story. Totally recommend it 🔥😍🔥

Good Book

******Spoiler Alert****
Very good read. Well written. I did dislike Reese for a while until Phoenix made them talk and squash their problem for the sake of their child. I can’t wait to find out what actually happened to Anabelle.

Ahhh!!! I cannot wait for the next book! Definitely read this series in order. A couple twists I didn’t figure out and a couple I did. Good mix. I do wish I could’ve felt maybe a little more of an emotional connection between the h and H. But great book

Wow this was as action packed as the first one with smoking hot chemistry between Duke & Reese. There were misunderstandings which lead to Reese fleeing but once Duke got her back there was no stopping him.

Love this series so far. Really enjoyed Dash. I wasn’t keen on Reese in this book but I understood why she was the way she was towards the end of it. Can’t wait for Phoenix’s book next I hope he finally finds what he’s been searching for!
