I'm left feeling unsure about this novel. On the one hand, I liked the premise and post-apocalyptic world was interesting. On the other hand, this felt very bare of detail, and I thought there was much of the world that could have been explored in more detail. This felt like a novella set in a bigger world.

The story itself was okay - not great. Despite the post-apocalyptic setting, this novel was more about people, their histories and dreams for their own futures. It was also about trust and deception, and hope. Personally, I was expecting something more exciting, with more tension and more nail-biting moments. The pace of the novel felt a little pedestrian.

Wonderful post apocalyptic novel based in Australia. New author for me and one that I shall read again.
