Wonderful Recipes

Great recipes.
A LOT of variety , which is a crucial ingredient to me.
Full of valuable information.
Just an all-around winner!
The only negAtive I can see is that there isn't a photo for each recipe. The is a photo at the beginning of each section (which has become a common practice , it seems), but, I would really love to see a photo of each recipe. Even if it's just a quick one taken sitting on the stove before it's served to a group of taste testers.) But, maybe that's just me.

On the plus side, there are many delicious looking recipes, many with just 5 basic ingredients and just a few steps. I love the idea of baking everything together in one pan. I didn't love that there weren't pictures with every recipe. And it is totally not this cookbook's fault that most of these recipes aren't going to work for my family. I don't eat meat and shrimp, while cauliflower, tofu, and beans don't work for Tim. I did save the recipe for Spinach Stuffed Portobellos with Eggs as I will totally be making that.

Sometimes I love to cook where I only use one pan or pot. The Healthy Sheet Pan Cookbook will soon become a favorite of mine.
The book's contents include Sheet Pan Basics that asks the question, why the sheet pan making the sheet pan healthier, breakfast, poultry, beef and pork, seafood and finally vegetables. In the breakfast section, there are recipes to make granola, stuffed portabella with eggs, Irish breakfast on a sheet pan and breakfast pizza.

Easy to follow and assemble recipes, I love the title of this recipe, meatballs with sneaky vegetables roasted tomatoes and mozzarella. I am not a vegetarian but I do like recipes that are primarily vegetable based. There is a section in the book for that too! There are 6- recipes that include breakfasts, pantry must-haves, hearty dinners, and vegetable crowd pleasers.

I have not made anything from this cookbook but I will shortly. I love the simplicity of this cookbook, not too complicated either. If this is the kind of cooking you love to do, then go get a copy of the book.

I received a copy of this cookbook for review purposes only.

I am best described as a "lazy' cook. If there are too many ingredients or too many steps I start to check out. I am a simple gal who wants no fuss in the kitchen. I was immediately hooked by the cover. One pan? Sold! The Healthy Sheet Pan Cookbook contains over 60 recipes, although as a vegetarian only the final chapter and about 10 of the recipes were applicable to me. Even that didn't hamper my excitement for the book; I could easily alter the other recipes, substituting tofu or fake meat instead of seafood and meat. Each recipe contains a protein, vegetables, seasoning, and other goodies. I haven't tried a ton of them, but they all sound soo good! Even if I take out the meat! A few of the recipes I've tried include: tomato caprese flatbreads, cauliflower steaks with mint-peas pesto, and Mexican street corn. The one improvement this book could have is photos. There are only a handful. I could have used a LOT more! Other than that though, a solid cookbook!

2.5 stars. Library book.
This book was okay, had some interesting information. I already do a bit of sheet pan cooking mostly a winter thing for me. I don't like to crank the oven up to 400F in the summer not even for an half hour.
There was a range of recipes but there were more meat than vegetarian. Most of the recipes were for 4 servings. Very definitely her main focus is working parents but once you know how to roast stuff you can do your own combos and sizes. The author does include so guidelines for that.

She has more information on her website, Percolate Kitchen listed in the book as well as some others. The site includes other techniques also aimed at working parents.

My quickie meals tend to be a grain or pasta and then some kind of stir fry to go with. Two pans but pretty fast.

60 Recipes Easy to Make and Easy to Clean: Delicious FULL Daily Meals All on 1 Baking Sheet!
When I was offered a copy of this great cookbook for an honest review from the publisher, I jumped at the chance because I loved the idea of the simplicity of the recipes!

This cookbook is not photo-rich. Each chapter begins with a photo for that chapter’s theme. Sure, being chock full of photos would be terrific. But for the publisher to have done so, this cookbook would cost 2 or 3x the price. Photos are the most expensive part of book publication, hence the price of coffee table books, richly packed with photos. I miss them a tad here, too. But I appreciate the price point for New Apartment and New Home Buyers and folks just starting out.

The first 11 pages of Sheet Pan Basics introduce the premise and practices of doing this kind of simple cooking. So many cooks are looking for cookbooks giving us to cook with 1 sheet, 1 pot cooking simplicity. While we crave recipes made with one sheet or pot for ease of preparation as well as clean up. The Healthy Sheet Pan cookbook delivers just that and with yummy options to suit all palettes and dietary needs!

At the time of my writing this review, the LOOK INSIDE feature for these 60 Recipes is not yet activated, and there is no TOC Table of Contents cited. It is as follows:

Introduction viii
Chapter 1 Sheet Pan Basics 1
Chapter 2 Breakfast 13
Chapter 3 Poultry 25
Chapter 4 Beef & Pork 41
Chapter 5 Seafood 67
Chapter 6 Vegetarian 83
Resources

Part of what appeals to me about doing Sheet Pan cooking is the sheer simplicity and ease of it: 1 sheet, 1 meal! Ruthy points out that by doing Sheet Pan cooking, we are roasting more of what we’re cooking, which really brings out the flavors, I think especially in chicken!

I have to say I am most intrigued by all of the breakfast options because they featured such items as spiralized veggies and not just, breakfast cereal or toast which is what our quick breakfasts have become recently. I am inspired! All the salmon dishes sound terrific, and since we are both watching our cholesterol, having salmon multiple times a week with different ways to prepare it is great. But you can’t get me to play with Tilapia. It just doesn’t do it for me, but I know I can take the recipe and substitute a different fish still to make use of the recipe.

My fiancé will be quite pleased. There are a number of recipes featuring eggplant! More options for eggplant is always well-received in our home. Plus, as it turns out, eggplant is one of the highest fiber veggies out there, which also benefits our cholesterol watching.

The Beef and Pork section looks seriously scrumptious. Most of the beef recipes are with kinds of steak. The pork recipes feature both loin and chops. Great things to look forward to this winter!

Mildly disappointed with one or two of the recipes like 2 pages devoted to loaded nachos (she did contribute 1 variation which is slightly different). It’s just so basic and traditionally prepared on a baking sheet, I didn’t think she needed to include it here. Ditto the Tomato Caprese Flatbreads and bake Ratatoille. However, there are so many dishes where Ruthy is playing with different ingredients and putting altogether on a baking sheet into fast meals, that I am still utterly delighted with this cookbook and will definitely be attempting some of these recipes shortly! Parsnips, white beans, sweet potatoes and radishes: I’m intrigued!

This cookbook, as Ruthy keeps touting throughout, is terrific for folks just starting a home, college and grad students, first apartments, young marrieds, and newly bachelored folks. Because you only need 1 great baking sheet, it’s a low price point entry point for cooking full weekday meals quickly and easily.

Highly recommend!

Just included the open book shot to give you an idea of the terrific interior layout, making the recipes very easy to follow. I hope the inside view pic is sufficiently blurry as not to rob Ruthy of her intellectual property. It was just to give you a sneak peek inside!

Having loved sheet pan cooking for many years, I was excited to start reading this book to see what new recipes I could glean. We have the author's colicky daughter to thank for the inspiration for this book. I'll let Ruthy (author) tell you the story in her words. Don't panic! If this is a new method of cooking to you, Ruthy goes over all the basics in Chapter 1.

What do I like best about sheet pan cooking? The flavor. No joke! The flavor of foods roasted is amazing and Ruthy tells you that in her book also. Not only that, if you choose healthy ingredients you have a very healthy, tasty, satisfying meal at the end of the cooking time. Whilst the author recommends aluminum or stainless steel pans, I personally prefer stoneware and have used that exclusively for more years than I can remember.

There are recipes in this book for everyone's needs:
5 ingredient * Dairy-Free * Family Friendly * Gluten-Free * Leftovers * Quick Prep * Vegan

The recipes themselves are divided into the following sections:
Breakfast * Poultry * Beef and Pork * Seafood * Vegetarian

IMPORTANT to note: If you are looking for desserts, you won't find them in this book. For those of you who, like me, like to cook from scratch, some of these recipes do call for chicken broth etc. I was sad to see that nutrient deficient white rice was used but a little tweaking and you could use sprouted brown rice.

OOH! Being very fond of Brussels Sprouts I was excited to see Mustard and Yogurt Baked Chicken with Brussels Sprouts and Potatoes. Yum! Yum! How about some Mini Meat Loaves with Honey-Glazed Parsnips? This book contains a really good variety of recipes and whilst there are no photos the instructions and ingredient list are very clear.

At the end of the book you will find resources, a recipe index and then an ingredient index. What this is, is a list to make looking up a specific ingredient contained in a recipe much easier. Say you are looking to cook with squash. Just head to 'S' and then 'Squash' and you will find all the recipes containing squash in one helpful list.

I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. That has not influenced my review with the thoughts and opinions above being my own. Thanks, Liz

The book for review is “The Healthy Sheet Pan Cookbook: Satisfying One-Pan Meals for Busy Cooks” by Ruthy Kirwan. This book falls in the genre of quick and easy and also in cooking.

Life is hectic it seems for everyone. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good meal at the expense of a busy life.

“The Healthy Sheet Pan” could be the cookbook for you. The book is divided into three sections:

-The basics includes what you need to have in the house, shortcuts to recipes( a personal favorite of mine) and ways to make a perfectly cooked mean.

-The book includes 60 as they word it everyday recipes that cover breakfast, dinners, vegetarian and more

-The last section includes handy recipe label which gives you at a glance information about the recipe such as the ingredients, if it gluten-free or dairy free, if the food carries well into leftover time and how long it last. It basically is a recipe card but with more added to it.

The cook book is beautifully decided and easy to understand. Now the recipes inside knowing my family they won’t be created for they won’t be eaten. So if I had perused this in a bookstore I would not have picked it up for that reason alone. So maybe check that out prior to buying it.

The fact you can make a complete meal in one pan to me is wonderful, easy and when one is pressed for time just perfect for families on the go. That is the main reason I went over this cookbook in the first place.

I received this book for free from Callisto Publishers for an honest review.

The Healthy Sheet Pan Cookbook is filled with 60 everyday recipes for every meal of the day. Traditionally, sheet pan meals are thought to be for supper but this author includes breakfasts as well. And while the majority of the meals didn't appeal to me personally, there are healthy meals that only require a single pan, leaving you fewer dishes to do and more time to be with your family around the dinner table. Recipes are grouped together by ingredient - breakfast, poultry, beef & pork, seafood, and vegetarian meals. There are sheet pan basics and resources to help the chef with making and designing their own successful sheet pan meals. This is a good resource for someone who is looking for creative sheet pan meals.

I receive a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

I love flipping through cookbooks for ideas and inspiration. I quickly liked this one with easy one pan recipes from breakfast to dinner with meats, seafood and vegetarian choices. This book offers lots of tips and great shortcuts for a home cooked meal using ingredients you may already have on hand. I love that the majority of recipes are on one page with a blurb to start for tips and suggestions. The only thing missing for me is more photos of the meals! I received a copy of the book from the publisher.

Eh Okay

I oicked this book up since it was listed as a “Great on Kindle” book. I haven’t really heard of Pan Sheet meals si was interested in checking it out. This was like reading a blog and I wanted to hit the “skip to recipe” button. I only found one recipe that was interesting that both my husband and I would eat. Will I make it? Honestly, probably not, but I still highlighted it to save. This technique sounds interesting, maybe a little pretentious at times but overall not for me.

Sheet pan cooking – simple, easy, quick cleanup. You cook the main dish and side in one pan. With sheet pan cooking, you are roasting what you’re cooking, which really brings out the flavors. Each recipe contains a protein, vegetables, seasoning, and other goodies. Sheet pans are affordable, averaging around $20. Ingredients are easy to find at the store, directions easy to follow, and easy to read layout.

I agree with another reviewer who discussed her disappointed with the author not including pictures of completed recipes. While I was more impressed with the recipes and will be trying numerous ones, I was highly disappointed that pictures were not included. Most cooks are visual people so pictures help to encourage meal tests. This author had pictures of some of the meals as beginning to chapters, so this was a thought.

This book The Healthy Sheet Pan Cookbook is put together nicely, it has recipes for all meals, breakfast lunch and dinner. The first chapter gives you some great input on how to prepare your vegetables and other helpful hints. Sheet pan cooking is so convenient, no pans to watch you can work about the kitchen while supper cooks, the recipes are straight forward and easy to understand. Would recommend if you are a seasoned sheet pan cooker or new to the trend

One-pan Cooking Introduction

I gave three stars for not having enough pictures and I already cooked the recipes that I thought was interesting using multiple pots. This was my first time reading a sheet pan cookbook. I don’t think I would read anything else from Ruthy Kirwan but I may try reading one-pan meals again. The Healthy Sheet Pan Cookbook by Ruthy Kirwan is well written and informative but only to someone new to cooking.

quick and simple.

I enjoyed some of the new recipes I found here. I was looking mostly to spice up my sheet pan meal nights and look at the cool times/temps. I really like that most have a small amount of ingredients and not many that I’d have to search for in the grocery store/google prep.

Interesting book

Overall the book had some great tips for sheet pan cooking, and would make me more inclined to use this cooking method. Would be interested to see how many of these are already on the author's own website.
