When society begins to unravel, there's no putting it back together. Jim and the others have made it to the lake house. They have some supplies, and they're still alive. But that doesn't mean they're safe. Rationing the food is necessary, and the meager portions are beginning to take their toll. Imagining hunger and fatigue is one thing, but living it is another. Can they survive like this long term? What happens now that the hoards are fleeing the cities, looking for shelter? The lake appealed to Jim, and that means it will appeal to others. How many will invade, and how hard will they fight? Jim knows they need to strengthen their defenses, to deal with the coming onslaught, but they're getting weaker and more desperate by the day as it is. What will it take to save them? Final Chaos is book 2 of Surviving, a post-apocalyptic survival thriller series. It deals with real people fighting for their lives every inch of the way.
This book has a lot of action too. Ally’s Uncle shows up, says he has stopped drinking. They still have people showing up trying to steal what they have. Then there are a group of RV’s that show up but park away from the cabin. Jim & Jessica decide to go check them out and they tell them they are swingers and more than welcome to join them. They both say no and leave. Then there is more action from several different people showing up. Don’t want to give anything aware but you really get to know Jim, Ally, Jessica and Rob more. I really enjoyed this one. Now I have one more to go in this series (or I think there is just one more).
Good continuation of the series, short but fast-paced and simple.
Book two continued pretty much where the first book had left off. Although the story was short, and fast-paced with decent action, you couldn't help but think how stupid the characters were in their actions and thinking. I know the author tried to imagine the characters as real as possible, but to be able to take human life and still be stupid or not think of things just seem so unrealistic. However with the amount of stupidity in the world that probably is how people would act. It's a simple quick read about a what if event that's enjoyable but predictable.
I’ve read quite a few EMP type stories. This is about as close as too what can happen. People will absolutely evolve into Neanderthals. Anyhow, the plot was well thought out. The books moved too slow at times, but I think it’s because the author wanted to showcase individuals and the different skill sets or lack there of from a survival standpoint. Lots of fight or flight scenarios.
"Final Panic" is another great book in Ryan Westfield's post-apocalyptic survival thriller series EMP SURVIVAL. This 2nd book in this series is well written, and the author will hold your interest from page 1 to the last, only leaving you to want to continue in the book in this series. I really enjoyed this book well as the series so far and hope you do too.
An RW. SYFY. Novel About an EMP. event./Surviving (2)
RW. has. penned a SYFY. Novel about an EMP. The group in this novel are totally in prepared for lights out. The group of four plan by trial and error which often caused more grief. They find a house near a lake and settle in. Then the rancid terror arrives. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
This series reminds me to not just react but act. Talking about a decision is good and don't follow blindly. How do any of us know how we will react in a similar situation. So much goes on that makes you stop and think, "what if it were me".
Book two was a great book. It kept me thinking and wondering was she going to get out of the cabin before the fire got her. I held my breath my hands over my mouth I was so excited
I hope book three is as good as two. I been reading Ryan books I think its six or seven by now but, I truly enjoy them I hope he continue
I will admit that this book was not as predictable as the first one. My problem is that the author gave up on the ending. He really left me wondering what happened to these characters. I guess he left the door open for book three.
The story is good and it's told well. The characters have depth and "listening in" on their thoughts and processes is an added benefit. But the author's note at the end, a lone, is worth the price of admission.
Good character development. I hope that in the future there will.be more description of survival skills. Good story. Not excessively focused on battle scenes, thankfully.
He’d rushed the cop, taking him by surprise with a kitchen knife. He’d stabbed hard and fast, right in the cop’s stomach. [cuts to the clothes that he is still wearing?]
