More hilarious than your boss on the dance floor at the Christmas party, Smart Casual will make sure you'll never look at work the same way again!
Olivia Smith is stuck in a rut. Working nine-to-five in a dreary The Office-style company, her only hope is to scale the corporate ladder, and fast. Lucky this new employee who's apparently starting soon, Luke Wylie, is coming along to help out, eh? Well, it would be, except that Olivia's got it wrong (again) and Luke actually turns out to be her new boss. She'll never forgive him. Ever. Except... he is completely gorgeous, and he does seem to be making a massive effort to win her over... Find out if Olivia's made to be a lover or a hater in this gorgeous, fast and funny read!
Absolutely hilarious. When Liv Anderson is overlooked for a promotion the person who is in line for the job is someone she has NOT got off on the right foot with, this causes tension until she ends up falling for him but he is not all he seems and is hiding some dark secrets, with the help of her colleague Jed Marshall she sets out to find the truth behind Luke Wylie and save the day when underhand dealings threaten her clients at work. But things take a crazy turn when she finds out she has feelings for Jed but just like Luke is HE all he seems??? Funny, serious, exciting, romantic, all the ingredients for a rare phenomenon of a good read from the chick lit genre.
A funny read with constant twist and turns, and a new take on chick lit novels. Some of Olivia's narrative voice was a bit odd, but an enjoyable read nevertheless.
I have a habit of alternating between two books especially when one books get draggy, i’ll read the other but this book kept me engrossed. First of all, I love the character of the main lead, Livv, she has a great sense of humour and witty. Some chick lit books gets me on my nerves when they write on the petty thoughts of the main character (usually the woman) but in this book, we didn’t get any petty and useless thoughts instead Livv was a strong person and she made sure she had to do the right thing. Also, first half felt really pointless because you only start learning the real story after the second half of the book. So, i’m glad I kept reading. I would say the climax was properly written and I loved this book. Would recommend it to anyone that likes comedy chic lit books with a twist at the end.
Furiously funny, fast-paced and highly addictive! You can practically read it in one breath. If I had to highlight every phrase that was either cuttingly witty or absolutely hysterical, the whole book would’ve been colored. Such a shame that Niamh Shaw has only two books published. Looking forward to reading her other one!
It took me a little while to get into the book, but once I did I enjoyed it. Olivia Anderson was one hot tamale. I love how the character has a sassy mouth on her. I also loved how she was a klutz and somehow managed to put herself in situations that had me laughing out loud. The suspense is quite good. There was a lot of partner swapping in the book, which turned me off a little bit. It was like a mini bonk buster, but not so graphic.
Oh, I remember reading this in the summer of 2011. Lovely book and the twists and turns were really good. I have to say I didn't expect much since it was a gift with the Cosmopolitan I bought, but then again never judge a book by its cover.
