When friendly competition turns four disparate car enthusiasts into speed-addicted street racers, they find out they share more than just an addiction to adrenaline...

In bustling metropolitan Manzano Springs, New Mexico, four friends (Chris, a contract welder, Brandon, an architect, Jason, a corporate executive, and Eric, a college student) suddenly find themselves navigating self-discovery in both their professional and private lives while sharing nothing in common save their love of fast cars—or so they thought.

When lifelong friends Chris and Eric embark on a seemingly light-hearted, fun string of intimate encounters, their carelessness leads them into getting caught by one of their other lifelong connections, Brandon. In the embarrassment, Chris can't figure out why it bothers him so much that Brandon saw him. Worse yet, why Brandon reacts completely different from what he would have expected.

Old feelings for Brandon surface as Chris and Eric continue their "situationship." That is, until their new friend Jason nearly catches them entangled in each other's arms. Eric's newly awakened appetite makes his eyes wander and Jason seems all too happy to oblige, causing Chris to suddenly re-evaluate his feelings for Brandon

Will Jason and Eric's passion for each other burn out before it has time to truly bud into love? Will Brandon and Chris' past finally clear up why they've been a "Missed Connection" for most of their lives and allow their slow burn to finally ignite?

Fast cars instigate a lot of drama, and these boys are always up for the challenge; whether that challenge be on the road, in the bedroom, or from outside of their group.

As an architect and a car fanatic, Derain Collier has an enduring love for the built environment and of fast transportation. A life long obsession with cars has led him down a long, sometimes meandering path to being an author. Mostly it is his sudden craving for romance novels around cars (Hey, everyone loves a good love story here and there. Don't judge me.)

He practices architecture, and car tuning, as a day job and by night, he continues to explore the various sectors of car culture and unconventional romance in a Not-Always-Perfect fictional metropolis Manzano Springs, New Mexico.

3.5 stars!

If you transcribed a trashy, cliche gay porn film and make it into a book then this was probably it. From the exaggerated excuses for dick fumblings to the repetitive "I'm not gay" narrative, 3/4 of this book just screamed porn with very minimal plot. I say all this not critically but in a fun way because I enjoyed the lot of it!

Most of story were just the guys figuring out their sexualities and sorting kinks out about their attraction so that's understandable. Everything's hot, including the platonic and romantic sex scenes. It's interesting though cos while I consider it some kinda poly relationship, Eric, Jason, Brandon, and Chris were paired up in two romantic couples. And the bestest thing was that they were all very good friends. Super supportive in every aspect. Oh you need your car built? They help each other out. You're having trouble after coming out? They make you feel very welcome and included. Oh you got your heart broken? Lemme fix your car a new engine and make love to you so you smile again. I mean, how awesome was it to have a support system this supportive? Literally going the extra mile to help out.

Past the sex fests, you'll actually see how sweet these four guys's bond was. A found family who never left anyone behind.

The book spoke more car-related technical terms than I cared about but I thought it just showed how passionate the author was about this topic.

Be warned, this book has been all about bisexual awakening and thus include at least three sexual scenes with females.

There should be second and third books but it hinted on more heavy shit and I don't think I will be there for that. Book one's enough for me.

I was looking for a Bromance: and this performed!
"I mean, what's a little cum spilled between bros, you know?" (p. 26)

The premise: imagine the Fast and Furious family but they're bicurious horny guys with bro-crushes.
They keep connecting via their cars and help each other with their builds and then they get to look under each other's hoods after working hard *badummtss*

Lemme tell you if you read this you're in for a ride! I had so much fun reading this :D
- Ridiculous premises on how the 'situationships' begin and a constant stream of "I love you bros"

- Car descriptions so detailed I'll either be glad the next time I read "nondescript red SUV" or extremely pissed BUT cars mirror the characters <3 And the way the cars were incorporated as their connection just worked and made a great framing!
"extremely low 1990, "E30" body style, BMW 325i sedan" (p.2) is driven by the guy in college, who is a "tossably petite" manlet (p. 75); The 6ft4 Clark Kent construction worker drives a Saab 97X; his childhood best friend and architect is a 6ft1 black man who drives a 2004 Range Rover and a 1991 Porsche 928 GTS; and their 5ft7 Chinese friend drives a Lexus GS300

- Sound effects

- and way too many euphemisms (here's a noncomprehensive list of gems):
moderately engorged flaccid; white nectar; Every velvety fold, and hot crevice; thick, throbbing member; steady stream of ecstasy; white evidence; slippery passion; pulsating rod; startlingly wide appendage; clean, white, evidence of ecstasy; hardening extension; clear sweetness flooding his mouth with Chris' essence; solid shaft; shot of ecstasy; long and floppy flaccid; slippery pearlescent release; clear delicacy; thick, luscious, mounds of white nectar; soft round jewels; loaded orbs; shape of his desire; tiny pink entrance; jizz rockets; liquid emotion; slippery gel-like accumulation; elixir;... You get the picture!

- solid dealing with overcoming heterosexual norms and accepting bisexuality
from:
"Damn, E! Looking swole all up in ya chesticles," Brandon said with a chuckle, post workout, using the opportunity to compliment Eric on his pectoral 'gains' as a cover for admiring his physique." (p.26) to Admitting to each other that they're in love and bisexual: "I finally found meaning in my life, and he's standing in front of me." (p. 320)

NSFW:
- Four guys who thought they were straight start 'bromantically' and end in two romantic pairings
- Group sex
- Bareback (no mention of condoms but always mentions of prepping)
- Daddy kink
- Submissive self-discovery
- spitroasting
- consensual non-consent role play
- flip-fucking
- one scene with one guy and a woman
- one group sex scene with a couple which is made up of one woman and a ftm trans man

So... Let's just preface this with there is a fair bit of On The Page action in the beginning of the book. It's really good.

When things get complicated between Eric and Chris, and feelings get discovered it changes from what feels like just PWP to serious self-discovery and romance. Chris' struggle is interesting and I like how the story broadens and the characters gain multiple dimensions as you go along.

Chris is a tortured soul and Brandon is just the right bestfriend to have. They're cute together.

Overall when Jason's family gets involved things get interesting. Excellent book that seems to get more dramatic the farther you go.
