Haley Mori, a downtrodden alternative-model, happens upon a secret society of elite models in NYC that are using their platforms to sell narcotics. Seeing a possible escape from a lifetime of crushing debt, Haley becomes involved and works her way up the ranks, making new alliances and enemies alike while getting a taste of a power she never knew she craved. In this new stylish crime thriller from writer Pat Shand (Breathless) and artist Emily Pearson (The Wilds), nothing is as it seems.
PAT SHAND writes comic books (Robyn Hood, Family Pets, Charmed, Angel) and pop culture journalism (Sad Girls Guide, Blastoff Comics). He lives in San Diego with his girlfriend and their veritable zoo of cats.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this. The art isn't my favourite, though it gets the job done. And while I'm very far removed from the life our protagonist leads (or wants to read), I do have acquaintances going through poly-relationships with similar struggles so there were moments in this that rang especially realistic for me.
Overall, I enjoyed this and I'm curious to see where it goes.
I picked this up because I liked the cover, its a bunch of pretty girls and the color scheme was really nice.
I enjoyed the plot of the broke girl doing whatever it takes to get out of debt. Loved that the main character is part of a throuple! That was different and so far in media I've only seen that on television. I hope the series lasts so I can pick up the first volume.
The artwork isn't the greatest though and it looks as if it was colored then someone smeared it.
This series has potential! I really enjoyed the way it used Instagram and Hashtags as a central plot element. I think social media in storytelling can be awkward if deployed incorrectly. Anyway, excited to follow this!
An okay introductory issue. The concept seems like it could be decent, though I think the situation that starts it off in this issue seems rather questionable and prone to more incidents like this one, going by how they operate.
It’s nice to see polyamory representation, especially since I haven’t come across any before. I more so got interested in this series for the pretty girls and hints at drug culture since I’m fascinated by that. Overall, I’m not exactly excited to see what else happens but I’m definitely curious.
This was an intriguing start to a comic book issue series. Personally, I don't like the story's art style. It just doesn't seem to fit with the story's atmosphere very well. I really like the story's representation of polyamory; it was new to me, but it seemed like a good representation.
I absolutely love the story here! At first the art really bothered me but after reading issue #2 I’m finding the art style really works for this story. I’m absolutely in for all four issues of this. To be honest this comic is going something real special and different.
