Snowed In: Bar and Joey
A January blizzard causes havoc in the small town of Frozentoe, Pennsylvania. Best friends, Joey Redd and Kel Foxford, become stranded in the wicked storm and check in at the strangest bed and breakfast ever, The Foreboding Castle. Joey meets a diverse lot of guests at the Vivian Vampe, a famous B-rated Hollywood actress; the bizarre Colonel MacCarmichael and his male pet, Dash Hound; and the sexy stud and adult entertainment star, Magnum Ride. When Kel takes a fancy to Magnum and the two vanish into a nearby bedroom to keep warm together, Joey is left to his own devices. In due time he learns of the castle's ghosts and secret passageways. He also begins to melt for the castle's owner, the handsome and alluring Bar Moore. But Joey’s attraction and heated feelings for Bar come on far too strong and quick. Will these strong emotions leave him with a broken heart? Or will he give his heart to Bar? Can their sudden relationship survive the terrorizing blizzard?

Being snowed in can be fun when you are toasty warm and safe, but after a brutal blizzard and almost freezing to death, all Joey and his best friend Kel are looking for is protection from arctic temperatures and howling wind. What they find when they brave entry into the local bed & breakfast with the prophetic name “Foreboding Castle” is a bizarre group of mismatched guests, a very Agatha-Christie- like atmosphere, and a welcoming owner who is as weird as his establishment. The result is a creepy interlude that had me looking over my shoulder as I was reading… just in case.

“IS THAT A$$HOLE TR•MP STILL PRESIDENT?”

I’ve said this before in a review and I’ll keep saying it every time I run into this situation . . .
Honestly, I don’t give a sh¡t what side of politics you fall on.
AS FAR AS POLITICS ARE CONCERNED, I DON’T CARE IF YOU THINK THE SAME AS I DO, OR IF YOU THINK VERY DIFFERENTLY FROM HOW I DO.
What I DO CARE ABOUT is how YOU MADE SURE you got your POLITICAL views out to the unsuspecting public in an unsuspecting way, and in a place it had no place being.
“FELT A BURNING NEED” to let your readers know WHICH SIDE OF THE AISLE holds your allegiance, DID YOU, NOW?
Of course, it’s your prerogative — it is YOUR book, after all.
I’m just a reviewer letting you know how I feel about your decision.
However, if you were to have your synopsis tell people what to “really” expect, that would have been highly acceptable. That way we could make a truly “knowledgeable” decision as to whether or not we wanted to either read and/or buy your book.
As it stands I didn’t get to your book before the cutoff point for returning it for a refund. So I just had to delete it, which probably “tickles” you to no end.
I don’t buy “escapism, get away from it all” books to be hit with the personal political views, likes, dislikes, wants or don’t wants of the author. And I don’t believe many other people do either.
This is a political book.
At ONLY the FOURTH paragraph into this book (not including four ‘one line’ paragraphs) I get hit with:
“Is that asshole ***** still president?”
“Unfortunately.”
I IMMEDIATELY QUIT READING — WENT ABSOLUTELY NO FURTHER.
AND, THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION . . .
I immediately returned to my KINDLE LIBRARY and DELETED the ENTIRE “RW CLINGER” CATEGORY. But, not before individually DELETING EVERY SINGLE ONE of the BOOKS that I had bought, up to this point, in the MANAGE DEVICES AND CONTENT program of Amazon.
EVERY ONE — Those I had previously read AND those I had, not yet, gotten to around to reading.
They no longer held any interest, IN THE SLIGHTEST, for me.
THEY ARE ALL COMPLETELY ERASED.
GONE.
Also, I had bought EVERY SINGLE BOOK in the “SNOWED IN” series from JM SNYDER’S WEBSITE — JMS BOOKS.
Now, the ONLY BOOK MISSING from that collection is “SNOWED IN: BAR AND JOEY“ by RW CLINGER.
YOU INSULTED my intelligence, RW CLINGER.
You should KNOW BETTER than to try and FOIST your UNASKED for political views on an un-asking, unsuspecting reader!
