Don't ever tell. Three simple words Genevieve lives by. The doctors never believed her, or her sister, they just locked her up in Bethlem mental hospital and said she was making it up. Now, 18 and free, she must find her way in a cold, dark London that is full of other peoples bad memories. Can she embrace her powers and see the good before it sends her back to Bethlem hospital? Will she stop praying to be cured of this, but rather to have the strength to bear it? will she ever say "gift" and not "curse"? will she be able to save her city for the human and non-human evils that plague it? 06/2019
My name is Julius, I'm an indy Fantasy writer, from Australia now living in london or somewhere like Cambodia or Thailand if the visa office is giving me a hard time. My aim as a writer is to create original things. Maybe a new creature or power or look at something like vampires and demons in different ways.
The dream would be in 20 years people i don't know are making movies and writing books about something i originally came up with. Like Bram Stoker for vampires, or Romaro for zombies.
I write grimdark and gritty adventure fantasy. I like a hero with a heart of gold and a blood drenched sword. My favorite authors are Joe Abercrombie, H P Lovecraft and Tanith Lee. I have also clocked around 200 hours on skyrim and like fantasy games, i might write a lit-rpg book one day soon.
This book was okay. It was quite religious. I support all rreligions but I thought this would be more paranormal or spooky fiction than religious fiction. It's also historical, and has some elements of feminism. The characters were good and the plotline was interesting but it wasn't a special read for me.
Compelling metaphysical themes Having the gift of seeing others memories when you touch something may not be the greatest gift. This is the gift Jenn has been given, but wait that not all she soon finds out that she has a much greater reason to be alive. This dark and gothic piece was just beautiful, great writing, out of sight characters, with a rich and marvelous storyline. This is a must read if you like fantasies. I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Interesting book to read. Although I am familiar with spiritual warfare, I had to get used to this concept. The emphasis is very much on Jenn instead of Jezus. Some people have much more insight into the spiritual realm and much more authority in that area. Jenn has clearly been given a great gift and is sad how the psychiatrists dealt with that. The book also provides insight into how demons sometimes work. The book is well written and exiting to read. It's a good story.
This book grabs a hold of you and won't let you go. Spine tingling anticipation. Story kept good pace. Characters are excellent. Tear-jerker. Brought me back around to my faith.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Great story. Different take on Religion, God and demons. It was very difficult to follow the story due to the grammar and punctuation. The book needs a good editor and has to be rewritten.
If you like paranormal, don't let the "Christian" worry you. If you're Christian, don't let the paranormal bother you! Very interesting and different. I enjoyed it, BUT it needs lots of editing. Too many weird wordings and poor grammar. Please fix it!
I like the story quite a lot. The beginning was great and the story was natural
Unfortunately, I cannot give this book more than three. Too many typos. I had to keep reading back from the first defence just to make sure I understand What it says.
When two women are present, I have hard time understanding who says to whom. Many words are vacant making us think twice what ithe sentence means. Commas and periods are located in wrong place making the meaning unclear.
