What a series this will become!

Tor has gotten out of his problems, but now that he has escaped he has gotten into some more along the way!

With many people depending on him for survival, it seems unlikely for him to continue this journey. Did he really sign up to be a dragon rider only to have to go on suicidal missions that may result in his ultimate death?! Worse yet he's paired with a unique, rule-follower dragon that insults him most of the way?

Yeah, his dream of being a dragon rider has not been as he imagined. But throughout his journey he will find out many secrets and new truths that he would have never have known.

If you wish to know more, start this amazing journey with Tor and see what the life of a dragon rider really is!

Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!

And the wonderful, exciting story of Tor and his dragon lady Saboraak, continues.
Even that Tor comes into all of troubles you can think of, one learns to love him, as he learns to love Saboraak.
There conversation is priceless. Love Saboraak as well. She is wonderful

Lovely part in the series. I really like being able to read Tor's mind, he's such a teenager, but he's not stupid and I love that. I love to see him squirm ;). Saboraak is growing on me. She's definitely good in the whole rescue mission. Can't wait for the next one, because I have the feeling the story is only starting now. There's so much to be discovered and that's quite the accomplish after having an entire series in this world. Despite that, this story feels like a completely different one and that's refreshing.

I have been binge-happy lately, getting really into book series and not able to put them down. Probably at the top of my list of binge-worthy series is Sarah K. L. Wilson’s Dragon Chameleon series, set in the same world as her fabulous Dragon School series (which I’ve re-read more than once and highly recommend). I’d read one of the Dragon Chameleon books before and loved it. When the latest, City of Ice, came out I just had to start from book 1 and binge read through the whole thing. That book 1, Rogue's Quest, was the perfect way to start a sequel series, placing it clearly in the works of Dragon School (but in a way that totally works as an intro that world for readers who don’t plan on reading that series) while introducing Tor (a wonderful scoundrel of a character) and - most importantly - his dragon partner, Saboraak, the dragon chameleon and the spy mission handed over to them by Hubric. I love the totally different “voices” of these characters and, especially, how Tor and Saboraak interact. Added to a pretty darn exciting book this definitely drew me in and started a new addiction. That addiction only worsened with book 2, Paths of Deception. The action heated up with this one bit, to me even more importantly, the character development went into overdrive. It was a total pleasure watching Tor evolve over the course of these pages - an evolution that was perfectly done. Added to yet another great plot and a cast of great characters (especially Shabren, Bataar, and sisters Zyla and Zin) and I couldn’t wait to dive into book 3. Luckily I had that book 3 (the reason I started my binge read, after all). City of Ice was, quite simply, superb. Things are looking pretty bad for Tor, Saboraak and their friends (especially Bataar) but I wouldn’t count them out. Once again an exciting story, and once again loads of fun watching Tor develop into a superb character. Really that character development, and the character building of the cast in general, is what made this book and the entire series so special. It already had a great story arc and individual book plots full of action, adventure, wild twists and turn and pretty darn nicely done humor. I’d have given the series a five based on that, but the character development is what makes this series truly exceptional. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. Each of the books in this series definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that this series is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. A recommendation - and five stars - that I’m happy to apply to this third book in the series.

Having escaped the Magikas for the moment, the ‘crew’ of Tor, 3 new passengers and Saboraak flew to a city of 3 mountain tops. Thinking they were obtaining help from a stranger, Apek, they followed him to his home, a veritable museum of magical objects. Sent by their new ‘friend’ Apek, to obtain a magical item to heal Bataan, Zyla and Tor found themselves victims of a plot to get Saboraak! As a hostage, they already had Zin, Zyla‘ twin. They would allow Tor to deliver the magical bracelet to heal Bataan, but would only release Zin when Tor delivered Saboraak to them. Would Tor betray his Dragon? How did the Magic Practicers obtain Zin so easily?
Saboraak is continuing her instruction of Tor, teaching him the virtue and value of compassion. As she does so, her words are worthy of reflection:
“There is a kind of freedom that comes from duty. A kind of freeing of the spirit that only loosens when you stop clutching your own interests so tightly......Keep on caring for people and you may find it is true.”
Her point: Doing your duty to help others, is what frees one—not running from your obligations.
CRITIQUE: Another action packed adventure, with one danger escaped only to have several more pop up to replace it! The 4 young people are starting to become acquainted, and the relationship between Tor and his dragon is cementing nicely. We are left hanging: How will they reunite with Zyla and Zin who are now in the company of Apek? Is Apek friend or foe? If not friend, will they be able to gain information Hubric may want them to have? We still have much to learn about Zyla, Zin and Bataan to make the story threads come together, which makes us eager for the next episode!
I received an early copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving my review, as children of all ages will enjoy this riveting adventure!

The story continues! Dragon Chameleon: City of Ice picks up where the second book left off. Tor has thrown himself off the top of the precipice to avoid the man who hunts him. Bataar still needs help and he’s not getting any better. The quest is still on to find their contact and to avoid those who are now hunting them. Tor has drawn the most attention and for now…the hunt is on for the one rider of a purple dragon. Danger lies all around them, and things are only going to get worse before they better.
Dragon Chameleon: City of Ice is book three in Sarah K.L. Wilson’s newest series and this story is yet another great addition to the series. I like how Tor gets into so much trouble, but I love how the relationship continues to grow and develop between him and Saboraak. The story continues to deepen as new characters are introduced and Tor’s skills come into play.
This is an engaging story and I am eager to find out what happens next. The characters continue to grow and the storyline is engaging. There are twists and surprises and things just keep getting better. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. Grab this book! You don’t want to miss out on what happens next!

An amazing dragon-ride!

Tor is no hero. That’s what he keeps saying. But saying it doesn’t make it true. In this book he needs to con the conmen/conwomen.

I loved it! Lovelovelove! I loved the telepathic conversations between Tor and his dragon Saboraak. And…was that…COMPASSION Tor felt for Zin? My my, the boy is learning! He’s softening up and I lllllllllike it! He’s starting to like his dragon and I’m connecting too. He’s starting to feel responsible for his dragon and his new friends and that’s new for him!

Quote: “Dragons! And girls! Frustrating - all of them.” Surrounded by female logic, sometimes it gets to be too much for Tor lol. There was lots of humor! Another quote: “Women were the most confusing creatures on the planet. They were even worse than dragons.” An amazing dragon-ride!

Tor and his band of not-so-merry cohorts are running for their very lives. But, they have been seen and now the entirety of the city is on their trail. Saboraak can alter her appearance, but it's not so easy for the 4 humans. They need to find Hubric's contact to see if he left a message for them on what to do now, and where to go. Hiding a dragon in mountain side cities is fairly easy, but hiding her riders is a much more difficult task. Is the contact truly there to help them? Only time will tell.
I received an ARC of this book from Ms. Wilson, and I post this review to help others find a really cool series to read.

Each novella (episode) in the Dragon Chameleon series is full of wonderful characters and heart pounding action. With Bataar near death from a magical attack, Tor and Saboraak are desperate to find Hubric's contact in the City of Ice. They originally took a risk on choosing Bataar as an ally, now they must do it again. However, not everything is as it seems in the city and everyone lives by lies. Zyla and Zin, two sisters, are also relying on him. Can Tor, a former street kid who is used to deception find help in time?

I received an eARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This new series is really going well. It started with a bang and just keeps getting better with each book. Tor and the others are in the city and are being pursued by magic users. Nothing new there. One of their party was injured by a magic weapon and traditional healing won't help. They try to purchase the required magical instrument that would heal the wound, but were captured by the magic users. What they wanted was an unacceptable price. Escape was their only option.

This series gets better with each book. Tor is becoming more of a hero even if he doesn't want to be one. Of course someone betrays him but his friends come through for him. It was interesting to see who wrote the new Prophecies that Tor is suppose to read. It will be interesting to see where this series goes.

This is the third book in the Dragon Chameleon series and it picks up where book two ends. We get to watch Tor escape from one danger to immediately find the next one. It seems like every way Tor can turn there is one danger or another but at least he knows he has Saboraak by his side. I love how this series is in the same world as the authors previous series, it has made the world last longer in my mind which I love. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The third in the Dragon Chameleon series, and it just keeps getting better. Bataar needs help and only Tor can help. What else can a rogue/spy do but break into a place of magic to help him. Well things don't go smoothly, but Tor comes through. What a guy! And Saboraak is always there to help. If only with her smart comments. This series is a hoot. And it certainly isn't lacking in adventure. It is just wonderful.

The group is separated and they are trying to make their way back together. They meet what could be a new ally, but should they trust him?
So much happens in this one. I am starting to really like Zin. I think she is hiding some things, but I think its for the right reasons. Bartaar is interesting and I can't wait to read the next one.

Most of the time I like books to stay books, but I wish I could watch this one as a movie. I love the epic cityscape and Apeq’s house of Marvels. I can picture it clearly in my head and It would be awesome to see on the big screen! I love that I can seldom predict what is going to happen in any of the Dragon School Books. You have to read Every of the Books!!

The adventure is heating up!

Tor is no hero...just ask him! However, he keeps doing heroic things, trying to save others and to figure out what Hubric had in mind when he sent Tor on this wild ride. Looking forward to learning more about Tor's and Saboraak's adventure in the next book.

Finally! Tor is showing some compassion towards the girls and even Bataar. He seems to become quite special now. And Saboraak is becoming a bit more adventurous too. I wonder what the next twist will be....

The adventures of Tor and Saboraak continue. How much trouble can a lovable scoundrel and a dragon get into. Quite a bit apparently. Loving the continued rapport between them. Plenty of twist and turns in the story to make this an exciting magical journey.

I absolutely love Sarah's writing and after finishing DC2 I couldn't wait to read this book but was afraid of a cliffhanger I got it but was able to read 4 immediately Tor is definitely becoming a hero even if he didn't want to be. I'm so in love and can't wait for more.

He’s done it again got himself in trouble. Mind you I don’t think that it’s always Tor’s fault, trouble just seems to find him like a magnet. Not sure how he’s going to get out of this one, though you can be sure it will be spectacular whatever happens. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Tor and his dragon, Saboraak, get into one close call after another in this book. If you are a fan of dragons, dragon riders, and just love reading YA fantasy, you will feel hooked on this series after finishing this novella sized tidbit of deliciousness.

Brilliant series. Tor and Saboraak continue their fight to save the dominion. I definitely recommend this book but you need to read the series in order to fully appreciate just how good, exciting and compelling this is. A brilliant book from a very talented author.

Allies

Who do you trust when you can’t trust anyone. A dragon of course. So they needed to find the contact. Tor stumbled across him. Good luck right? Egh, maybe not. Tor has to decide between sacrificing himself and his dragon or leave Zin as a prisoner.

Somewhat confusing

Interesting, but also confusing, the plot was not very clear, and parts were hard to understand and follow, hopefully the next chapter, episode, part will pull it together and give me an idea where this is going.

Tor's dreams if being a dragon rider aren't quite going as planned and he has more people to look after. He may say he's not a hero but his actions sure show different. Of course Saboraak is still my favourite.

Sarah writes a wonderful fantasy with dragons and gives her characters so much development, they feel like real people. Love the main character is the thief they caught and ended up helping them in the end. Love how he has to fight and wins in the end.
