Ava Douglas was laid off from her job at a prestigious marketing firm and her whole life changed. She had to move to a sleazy apartment, but she was behind on the rent and now received a final notice in the mail that she was about to be evicted. But among the stack of past due notices in the day’s mail, she saw a postcard from a dating agency that was “Now Hiring”! Surprisingly, there was an opening in their marketing department, which perfectly matched her skill set! Much to her surprise, she had a phone interview the next day and scheduled the in-person interview – then she would find out if she got the job!
Mason Sinclair knocked on the door of his father’s study. Mason was the oldest son and in line to one-day inherit the alpha leadership of their bear clan. To do that, he needed a mate and currently was not even looking for one. Mason had already taken over the business and it was doing well under his leadership. Now his parents wanted to become “snowbirds” and spend time in warm Florida. His alpha father needed him to step up the mate hunt or his father would be forced to consider arranging a marriage for him. He gave Mason one month to find a mate or he would have to step down as CEO of the company.
Mason bumped into his brother Liam as he brought in the mail. Liam asked why he was upset and remembered a post card in the pile of mail for a dating agency that guaranteed success. Unhappily, he signed up, hating that his father put him in this situation. When he drove to the Prince Dating Agency for his appointment, he was asked to follow the receptionist. She was already out of his sight, so he hurried around the corner. A distracted woman was coming quickly toward him and they bumped into each other. His bear immediately sniffed in interest. The woman didn’t pull away from him as he caught hold of her so she wouldn’t fall. He had heard from friends that finding a mate was like love at first sight. Was that accurate? Could she possibly be meant for him? If she is offered the job at the agency, it will be doubtful that she can date a client. How will this turn out for them?
This author writes good stories, but lack of an editor makes it difficult sometimes to navigate the book when the errors are numerous or “bigger”. The names of three of the characters are scrambled so that I had to re-read sections to be sure which person was being referenced. That truly does take away the momentum of the reading and can get tiresome. However, the story line is well-paced, the characters were handled well as far as descriptions go, and with some editing, I could recommend this book easily. Grab your copy of the book and see how Mason and Ava get their problems sorted out, and whether there is a future for the two of them as mates!
