Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I buy all of Zoe Chant’s books because I love her HEAs and her style of writing! I will be buying this one too when I can!
The cover is awesome because who doesn’t love a tatted marine and a tiger!
This is the 7th book in the Protection, Inc series, and it is definitely for adults only due to the violence and steamy content. I highly recommend reading them all and in order because all of the characters and this world rocks, so you don’t want to miss a second of it!!
This is Destiny and Ethan’s story! YAY!! Destiny is part of Protection, Inc. and Ethan is Ellie’s twin. So much going on in this book! You get Destiny’s backstory and more of Ellie and Ethan’s story too! There are kidnappings, plane crashes, injuries, lots of rescues, danger, dinosaurs, mythic shifters, and adorable new creatures! This book had everything and was amazing because I suspect there is a new spin-off series coming soon too! So excited!!
I highly recommend to any shifter fans who love mates, magic, and so much more!!
I didn't read the earlier books in this series and it did make a difference. I want to go back and start at the beginning, but have many books to get through first. Despite not reading the earlier books, I really liked this book. The characters were extremely interesting and the storyline was very engaging. I really like the way this author writes.
"Lost in the jungle. Pursued by dinosaurs. And that’s the least of their problems…"
The first six novels in this series were relatively normal shifter suspense fiction -- bear shifter Hal gathers together a group of were-animal bodyguards (lion, leopard, wolf, even a dragon) who protect people in need while falling in love (and battling a secret organization that wants to use shifter power to create ultimate soldiers). Aside from the dragon mythology, it could happen, if people could turn into animals. In Top Gun Tiger, the normalcy goes off the rails.
Dinosaurs. Apparently the secret organization that is making shifter super soldiers finds it easier to make shifters with the DNA of extinct and/or mythological creatures... and boy, do they... I don't want to spoil this for anyone but... if you suspend all disbelief, and all pretense that this might be rational, you'll love it. Who doesn't want to see were-tiger vs. were-t-rex?
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! It was a great book! Misty thinks/knows that Ethan is not her mate. Ethan is ready to claim Misty as his mate. Misty has to a choice to make. Loved the characters and the storytelling! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book! I can't wait for the next book in this series.
2.5 Stars I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review. I've really enjoyed the Protection Inc series and was really looking forward to finally getting Destiny's book, but while it was an OK read, I felt it wasn't as good as the previous books. Why...well a few reasons but the main ones were there was so much going on in this one, that it felt like it took away the spotlight from Destiny and Ethan. I'm certainly open to mythical shifters like Dragons, Unicorns, Pegasus and phoenixes etc but I really wasn't loving the dinosaurs, I get that they make for good villains, because who would think a Dinosaur would be a good thing, but I just have an aversion to them sorry, took some of the enjoyment away for me. Add in the flying cats and three headed puppy that could open portals, that seemed a bit random and I was a bit like really?!?! It was cute that those cats and puppy chose their own person to live with but still.... I know its a shifter romance so all fantasy but this just stretched me a little to much. We are introduce to the new members that will be making the spin-off series, so lots of new faces but we also had an old foe kinda back again but with a new villain in charge. This one certainly wasn't the usual insta-love with Destiny not getting the "mate" vibe from Ethan in the two years she had known him. It was of course all explained and made sense to the story and also I guess why she was last to get her HEA. Overall it was a quick easy book to read but I'm not sure I'll be following on with the spin-off series as dinosaurs are not my thing.
Icould get used to this, Destiny thought contentedly, lying back in Ethan’s arms. She was filled with delicious satisfaction after making love with Ethan the night before, and again first thing in the morning. Then, reconsidering, she thought, I hope I never get used to it. I hope I always appreciate it like it was the first time. She knew that she always would. “What’re you grinning about, nerd girl?” Ethan inquired. “Everything, nerd boy. You. Our life. The team. Our trip to India. The family we’re going to have.” She pointed at the wall across from their bed, where his sword and her tiger claws were hung in a place of honor. “My waghnakh.” He chuckled. “And after all your angst about accidentally stealing them.” They’d been so excited about seeing Haley and Elliot, and all the wonderful changes in their lives, that it had been weeks before they’d gotten around to unpacking their backpacks. Only then had Destiny discovered that they’d flown back to the US with priceless Indian antiques that they had no easy way to return. She’d telephoned Mataji, who had been their point person in the plan for Indian shifters to dispose of the dinosaurs and “discover” the Golden City. As it turned out, Mataji had been about to call her to give her an update. She informed Destiny that the dinosaurs had been given a decent burial (a thousand feet deep, Destiny hoped), and that her mongoose shifter niece and her elephant shifter girlfriend had been recruited to discover the city “on a camping trip.” The Indian archaeological society had been so delighted that they’d offered the finders a pair of swords from the city. As they were neitherhistory nor weapons nerds, they’d declined with thanks. “Considering that, you should consider the weapons yours,” Mataji said. “They’re going to start letting tourists visit once they reconstruct the tower they think collapsed in an earthquake. You two should come then.” The old woman laughed. “Though I don’t expect they’ll let you sleep in the palace.” “We’ll survive roughing it in a hotel,” Destiny said, and ordered a pair of brackets to mount their souvenirs. Gazing at her wagnakh, she had to admit that the joy it gave her was undeniable proof that she was the biggest history nerd ever. It was the cherry on the cake of her happiness. She had everything she’d ever wanted. Except for a winged kitten. But she had almost everything she’d ever wanted. And she could play with Carol and Shadow whenever she— There was a scratch at their front door. She and Ethan sat bolt upright, then threw on bathrobes and went to investigate. A fluffy white furball sat on the doorstep, wagging its cotton puff of a tail. It had very pale gray-blue eyes, the color of a frozen sea, which instantly fixed on Ethan. With a joyous yelp, the puppy leaped into his arms and started licking his face. “It likes you,” Destiny said. “I can—yecch.” Ethan wiped his mouth. Holding the puppy at arm’s length, he said, “I can tell.” The puppy, deprived of a face to lick, yelped indignantly. The front of Ethan’s bathrobe went white with frost. “What the—” Ethan put down the puppy and prodded his robe. The front was frozen solid. “Brr. Did the puppy do that?” It thumped its tail on the floor and yelped again. A sprinkle of snowflakes, each one perfect and beautiful and unique, fell out of the air and landed on the rug. “Guess we know where you came from,” Ethan said to the puppy. To Destiny, he said, “But how in world did it get here?” “Lucas said one of the magical animals could open portals. I guess it was this little guy.”
Destiny Ford, a tiger shifter who'd watched all her friends find their mates. She longed for the sexy as sin Adonis, Ethan. But she felt like he wasn't hers and she wasn't about to put her heart on the line only to get hurt again when his "true mate" comes in the picture. If only her heart would listen.
Ethan McNeil, Ellie's (BODYGUARD BEAR) twin and a Recon Marine whose team was taken by the secret government group, Apex...the same one that Ethan and the member of Protecting Inc. thought they got rid of. He got hurt and while he tried to save his team, he was captured and tortured until Destiny saved him.
He was dying to claim her as his own. But the strong, beautiful, spitfire and stubborn woman wasn't having any of it. She kept pushing him away but when they found themselves in danger. Things were laid on the table and they had some choices to make.
When they chose their paths, they become closer than they've been. Their lives changed for the best. Ethan was her mate all along, it's just that she couldn't recognize him because of something she did. The mates found his team and tried to rescue them only to get captured as well.
They worked together along with his team to free themselves. Then another dangerous enemy came after them, they fought like heck. And got some help from their friends and an acquaintance. In the end they won. Loved the twists and turns, looking forward to the spin off of this amazing series.
TOP GUN TIGER is the last book in Zoe Chant's PROTECTION INC. series. It was adventurous, heartwarming, intriguing and a must read. Two thumbs up!
****I received a free book from the author, without any obligation to review.****
I read Defender Cave Bear and was a little lost with all the references to this series Protection, Inc. but it wasn't until I read this book that the references were explained (so, if you are going to read Defender Cave Bear - read this book first).
Destiny is our hard partying Protection, Inc. tiger shifter. For Destiny, it was practically love at first site when she met Ethan (the twin brother of Ellie from Bodyguard Bear) but her Tiger said no. Ethan will take what he can get from Destiny (a hook up, friendship, dancing partner, etc), as he has always loved her. This story brings Destiny to Ethan and his team's rescue (along with a lot of help from their friends and family). The fantastic reveal of who was really behind the Apex abductions (Shane and Justin's team and, Ethan's team) is a wonderful tie in to another of Zoe Chant's series (one that I really love).
Destiny is daring and protective and just an all around kick-ass lady. Ethan (though human) has helped out the Protection, Inc. team in the past and is another fine addition to the extended family. The reveals make this book so incredibly absorbing that it was difficult to put down. I love the perfect pairings found in the lab and look forward to many more (there were a couple in Defender Cave Bear).
I want to thank the author for allowing her book babies in the Kindle Unlimited program and look forward to each new release. My personal favorites are the Firefighter and Wildfire series.
Tiger shifter and bodyguard with Protection, Inc, Destiny is in love with Ethan, a Marine and brother to the mate of her boss but she pushes him away because her tiger tells her he's not her mate. But when she gets the feeling that Ethan's in trouble while he's away on a mission she makes her way into the country where he's supposed to be and flies toward him as her intuition leads her. Ethan's team was kidnapped during their mission by Apex, the black ops agency that's behind the predator program that changes people into the ultimate shifter. After Destiny finds Ethan and the plane she's flying goes down, they hide out in the jungle while coming up with a plan to rescue the prisoners. Destiny learns more about her tiger and the two of them learn just what they are to each other.
This was a fabulous book with a lot of surprises. It's well-written and draws you in from beginning keeping you hooked until the end. I highly recommend this book and the series. I hope that there's more to come.
I love the imagination and fantasy in this book. It is fantastic. The story is full of action, drama, a bit of humor, an exotic location, love and a strong woman. I am totally allergic to cats but I really want a flying kitty. The 3 headed dog would be fun until they all barked at once lol. The little dragonette would be great except for the whole fire part. Honestly, the fun critters were a nice and fun surprise. I'm very sad that the captured woman was killed (if that is true). The hydra kill was the best of course followed by the trex and the rest of the bad guys. I really enjoyed this book. I am sad for this series to end as I enjoyed them. I usually hate to see series end because I enjoy the characters and like to see the grow and evolve. I do look forward to the defenders as they should be fun and different considering how out there they are. What a fun you must have had writing this book.
Destiny is the last of the Protection Inc group, to find her mate. Over the years she has watched as each of her fellow shifters have found mates and has begrudgingly admitted she might not find hers as she has a secret none of them are aware of. When she meets Ellie’s brother Ethan, she is certainly attracted to him but as time passes her tiger tells her he’s not her mate. Ethan is attracted to Destiny and believes she is the one for him but her continued rejection makes it hard to just be friends. Fast forward two years later, Ethan is deployed and Destiny has this instinctive feeling that he is in trouble and books a flight overseas to find him....❣️
Loved this story and the introduction of the dinosaurs and other magical animals, which made me smile. Thank you to Zoe for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review. A definite must read book and series😍
And a super introduction to the follow-up Protection Inc : Defenders! There is a lot of action here, as this series is action oriented. I loved the fact that it was set in two timeframes that were specifically labeled. I don't like guessing! I can't say much without giving the storyline away. So I'll just say that the breakneck pace and positive tone move the action oriented storyline along. There are also some steamy scenes, vibrant characters and a number of fascinating twists and turns.I
Read all of these stories in order if you can to get the most out of the overarching story. If not, you can read this, but then you will want to go back and read all the others. I plan on rereading this series also, and look forward to reading the upcoming follow-up series! Enjoy!
It's shocking about the prehistoric unique creatures. It seems like those assholes r at it again!! Don't they ever stop hurting and killing innocents. Ethan deserves so much in his life just like his sis does cause of their asshole parents. They don't deserve anything from the kids after how they r 2 immature!! See has had a really unique life but they both should have stopped being stubborn about mates but it is understandable after everything that is going on with her. Hopefully the innocent woman is still alive sum where even though that asshole said she was dead. They can't b trusted. I'm really curious about what fiona's ex since he lost his snow leopard. It's awesome that all of the group has their very own special animal cause of what they r. I would b curious about what she thinks about him being changed into a tiger. I soooo can't wait 4 more asap!!
A fun book overall, though the romance took a bit of backseat to the overall plot and the set up for the spinoff series. I'm not sure why Destiny and Ethan didn't just TALK to one another sooner, instead of allowing assumptions and misconceptions to keep them apart for two years. So much could have been cleared up with a conversation, or if Destiny has trusted someone enough to ask more questions about mating, but then I guess we wouldn't have this book?
There's a lot of fairly fantastical action in the last third of the book, and at times I was more interested in the side characters than our leads, but not enough to detract from my enjoyment of the story. I did think the epilogue was wrapped up a bit too neatly, but I can't fault the characters for wanting what they did - they sound adorable!!
So, I've been waiting for Destiny to get her HEA & I wasn't dissapointed. Heading all the way back to to Bodyguard Bear, we get to swe the first interactions of Ethan & Destiny. It was love at first sight, though Destiny's tiger told her he wasnt the one. After years of pretending there was absolutely nothing more than friendship between them, when Destiny has a bad feeling she races off to save Ethan and perhaps find her mate while she's at it. Now, while I highly enjoyed this book & can't wait for the spin off I'm not all that sure about the prehistoric shifters created by the wizard council. And their "pets" were also a little too much for me, nevertheless,I loved the connection with Ethan & Destiny as well as the journey it took for Destiny to finally accept her tiger isn't broken.

Very interesting and enjoyable well paced story. The two main H’s actually met back in book one but never made it together and we never knew why. Now we do. Quite funny how Destiny had sabotaged herself through cowardice, seeing as she really is a very brave person. Must admit it has been a while since I read this series so struggled a bit to remember who everyone was and their stories. Even though this is the last book I am looking forward to reading the new series. Really cannot remember Carter’s story, need to look that one up. A few proofing errors that niggled. Hoping Roland gets his story and his lady saviour is alive and it is not too long till the next book. Read through KU.
This was a great ending to this terrific series! As I would usually pick a favorite among these stories, I can't because they were all absolutely fantastic! This book had some really great unexpected twists and turns that you'll never see coming, but was an awesome addition to the series. Each story in this series is unique, intriguing, suspenseful, emotional, and has the perfect amount of sexy.
Once I started this series I was unable to stop until I finished the entire thing, and it was well worth every minute! It's certainly a must read for paranormal lovers.
I would highly recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
I love this series and wish that it didn't have to end. Ethan is a Ellie's twin, a Marine, and human. He loved Destiny from the moment he saw her. By her tigers that they weren't mates.
When Ethan was in the danger, Destiny went to find him. What is happening to them is so weird?
These characters are unique, in love with each other but denying it. The plot is back-to-back drama with many twists and turns. The reader should be cautioned to read all the other books first to get the full effect of the series. It leads to reader to a spin-off the Defender series.
I enjoyed this book very much, perhaps the most of all. I would give this 10 Stars if I could. Highly recommended.
Last book in this series with a very good hint at the start of the spin off series
A love denied for two years, awakes in a blaze of danger. Destiny had shut Ethan down when he would stated his love. Now she s racing to save him as her inner Tiger is violently demanding. Ethan and his team are ambushed, sperated when he falls into a fast moving river, left for dead , almost but not yet, he sneaks onto the plane they load his team on. Grab the book to see how Destiny finds and save him after he is caught. Add a fight for his life, a forgotten city, a TRex, rescuing the team plus acouple more prisoners, the being caught, rescued , caught and rescued. Having some incredible baby animals choose members to bond with.
You probably already read the synopsis so I'm not going to tell you what you already know. I will say I'm excited about how this story arc ended and set up the next series so well
I've been (im)patiently waiting for Ethan's story since day one and while some aspects were expected Zoe turned it into a fresh concept. This story was well written and the characters remained the ones we've all loved since day one.
I can't wait for the new series tho begin.
I want Random, or Pete, of Roland first. I really can't decide. They all promise to be very ending stories and those three are the ones the suspense has already been built for.
Considering this is book 7, I didn’t expect so much new stuff. I get it’s to set up the spin-off series ... but I’d rather a good story than a bridge to another series. This book did not feel like it developed organically. The crazy stuff didn’t feel like it fit into this world as it had been built up to this point. Everything that happened after Destiny gets to India is like a guest writer came in to finish the book (same style, just different type of story). The part were everyone just magically got pets didn’t feel plausible. I feel like Destiny’s book was ruined to make way for another series from a parallel dimension or something. What a disappointing end.
My new favorite in the series and a great way to end the series and launch a spinoff. Destiny and Ethan embody right person wrong time. They both having growing up to do and deal with the traumas of their childhoods. When Ethan's in trouble Destiny saves him but their in for the fight of their lives in the most unimaginable way! New shifters, mythical and extinct creatures are introduced and the Protection Inc gang arrives in force to save the day. Now that everyone is happily mated, the spin off focuses on Ethan's former teammates and Fiona's (Book 6) nemesis - a motley crew to say the least.
Last book in the series Ethan and destiny finally get together also we meet lots of new characters from Ethan new two months marine team just before they all sign off and a few people who was held prisoner ready for the next series protection Inc defender's you do need to read this book before the new series.I haven't read it yet but I have read the vet series that comes after with the portal and unusual animals so now I get where it started.looking forward to the blue dog that had a cameo with his owner in the vet series, I guess he will find love in p Inc defenders
This story was AWESOME. So unexpected, thrilling, action packed, and fast paced. At first I hated it, how Destiny and Ethan stayed apart, how they should have been mates, but weren’t. As the story progressed, the characters and their histories came to light, bringing everything into focus and shining a light on what was misunderstood. I LOVED every single aspect of this story, can5 wait to read more about the Defenders, and hope to learn more about the awesome pets too!
I think of all of Zoe's stories this is we find on the list of my favorites. This story has everything to keep you turning pages way into the might. The main characters are warm, funny, and believable. Because they're older it makes it even sweeter that they found love. To top it off Zoe introduced new and funny characters to jump start her new series. Thank you Zoe for adding the flying kittens, to cute. Very much looking forward to beginning the new I instalment of protection Inc East coast style. Zos..you rock!!!!
These are part of a really fun series, but this book let me down in a few ways. I liked the characters, and the story was interesting, yet sometimes it just seemed to drag along slowly. By the time we reached the last action scenes I pretty much needed a white board and a chart to keep track of who was what and good or bad! Maybe it's been too long since I've read the previous books, but I figured that like most others, I'd be given all info needed. I believe it fell short. ✋🐺
OK, no, THIS one was definitely my favourite of the series. Yes, everything fell into place a little too patly, and I figured out what was getting in the way of the shifter mate recognition the moment it was introduced, and the unremitting cutefest at the end had absolutely no rhyme or reason to it... but the truth is that I really don't care.
This book made me cry happy tears, and I can only hope that more (not all, but more) of the books I read over the next 12 months make me feel this way. More like this please, Universe!
The series overall gets 5 stars from me. The author painted vivid pictures where I could see every character.
This book gets only 4 stars. In previous books, the set up for the next book is well done. I even enjoyed Justin's showing up for Fiona a couple of books before their own book. This set up was also well done.
My issue is the pets. One magical creature remaining is one thing. But for ALL the couples to get a magical pet was overkill in my opinion. Hence the reduction of a star.
I love this book! What a perfect way to end one series and introduce another. The last holdout finally gets the mate she’s always loved and the two teams work together in perfect harmony. So many mythical and extinct creatures added to the list of shifters and their perfect miniature sidekicks. You can feel the love and comradeship in each page as Ethan and Destiny travel towards their own HEA. I can’t wait to read all about the newest team of protectors!
