“They’ve put Kaz on trial for the murders!” cried Aziz. “They’re going to execute her as the killer!”
Tori shook her head in an attempt to wake more fully. “What? No. That’s a mistake. Kaz wouldn’t harm an insect. There’s no way a court could find her guilty.”
“The krakun legal system doesn’t give a damn about geroo. They find everyone guilty!”

Tori's adventures are fantastic reading. I look forward to more with bated breath.
I have only a minor criticism, and it is not a fatal one to the enjoyment of the story:
Geroo just don't look right in the illustrations without Rick Griffin's enormous talent.

Good but not great mystery told with pretty basic language and disappointing characterization. The last quarter of the book implied some ideas about disability and suicide that I found really distasteful and that the author should have thought through more. It also made fun of and then villainized the major overweight character. I wouldn't really recommend it unless you know what you're getting into.
What it does best is worldbuilding - a species of tiger furries on a spaceship that serve a species of giant lizards. There is also an interesting story-within-the-story. The short chapters held my attention really well and helped me finish this book quickly.
Mixed bag overall. I don't hate it but I can't look past its flaws enough to love it either. I feel like it was at least an instructive/useful read.

Fantastic read!
Loved this book couldn't put it down! The story line is great and there is quite a few emotional parts I could just feel my heart pounding as I read on. I felt connected to the characters and felt fear happiness and sorrow for them .

I loved this book!
Bought it back in 2022 at my first furry convention and it was amazing, I did not expect the plot twist at the end but it made so much sense!
I didn't like the mentions of sex but that is the only thing I didn't like lol.

Reaper’s Lottery is an impossible to put down science fiction, mystery, thriller. You enter into the world of a Geroo generational ship where you get to follow Tori as her normal life changes around her.
I would absolutely recommend this if you enjoy science fiction, mysteries, and thrillers. On only rare occasions did our world managed to drag me, fighting all the way, out of the fascinating and immersive world and story contained within this books’ pages/audio files.
