I’m dealing with so much drama while being stuck in the beast realm, cut off from my guardians with some crazy beast priests wanting my head on a spike. It’s enough to tear me apart.
But there is hope…
An unexpected helping hand is offered, a way to finally undo the curse on Coldharbour.
To stop the death and destruction. To save the city. To save the world.
Hope. It is the rock I cling to in a violent sea waiting to sweep me away.
Yet evil is not done.
This is the last shot before the shadow of Lilisian swallows everything.
I have to stop her. I have survive.
Get ready for the end…
Winter Twilight is the fifth and final book in a completed Urban Fantasy series packed with action, adventure, and a slow-burning M/M Romance that unfolds over the course of the series. Follow the journey of Jake Winter as he discovers how to heal his shattered heart and find love again, while also kicking some serious backside in the process.
Richard Amos is an author from England who is constantly lost in the worlds he writes about, and the ones in the queue yet to be written. He also has more books in his house than anything else, and is never without a book (and chocolate) in his hands when he's not writing. He’s a proud nerd who loves to dance. Hard.
Richard writes M/M Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance, all with tons of kick-ass action, adventure, twisty plots, and yummy times.
This is the final installment of the Coldharbour Chronicles series and boy does it deliver! Richard Amos has created the most amazing world where magic and reality have merged, where the supernatural walks among us and trapped in a magic bubble is a city that is ground zero for an invasion from another reality - the reality of the Beast - bent on claiming our world as theirs.
In this final installment Jake Winter and his guardians finally face down the Head Beast herself, Lilisian, who has inhabited the body of the former lover of Jake's guardian - and lover - Dean, the half fae. Pregnant, Lilisian used the blood connection between the child and Dean to enslave him to her will in the last book. And in a bizarre twist of fate the White Eyed Guy who started Jake down the path to become the Weapon of the Goddess, turns out to be Jake's ancestor, _THE_ Hercules of old who clashed with the Titans, and he saved Jake in the last book by almost killing him. But he's definitely Team Jake now, even if he has a grudge against the Goddess.
So Jake has to defeat Lilisian, drive the Beast back to their own dimension, save his lover _and_ his lover's child and not die in the process... all in a day's work for the Weapon, right?
This book was a thrill ride and an amazing end to the series. There is a HEA, which made me happy, but not everyone got out alive, as is expected in a book series about the attempted take over of the world by a terrifying reality of monsters.

Not only is this book incredibly intense and exciting , there are so many moments that just left me hanging on the edge of my seat as Jake barrels his way through a myriad of obstacles to save Cold Harbour and the world at large. I can't stress enough how awesome this series has been and being able to be delighted and engrossed with such a richly drawn world with these incredible characters has been truly been this readers utopia. From the very beginning where the spirit of Luke ( a beast) that was so good at heart and not worthy of Jake's deadly touch, but was funny and brought dead pan humor in the midst of a deadly journey, to the incredibly awesome and imaginative monsters that Richard Amos 's mind conjures up , Winter's Twilight packs everything in. The race to save Jake's lover picks up even more steam when Jake reunites with his guardians and those survivors still willing and able to fight and kick some major butt! Even throughout all the chaos there is heartfelt and moving passages that pulled at my heart. The white eye guy for all his impossible arrogance proves to be a useful ally. At the most desperate moments Jake finds within himself a true magic and the conclusion not only is a satisfying ending but a masterful stroke of magic in itself. Not to missed , and exceptional and tremendously vivid escape of wonder , magic and a slow burn romance that filled my starving reader's soul and a series that in time I will revisit for the pure joy of it!
This was the last installment of the Coldharbour Chronicles series and what a ride it was. This series should definitely be read starting from book one and you'll enjoy every minute of this journey. If you are a fan of urban fantasy genre. The whole series is written with great skill. The world building is detailed and amazing. I loved the descriptions of different kinds of beast, just amazing. The author has wonderful imagination and his talent brings us into the world of magic, unimaginable monsters and "old friends" such as goblins, golems, far, vampires, werewolves, you name it. And our heroes Jack & Co are still trying to save the world. And as this is the last book in the series. And it has a HEA.... you can guess the rest. but before that you'll get on a crazy ride that will keep you reading untill you turn the last page. I love the books that have a power to teleport you into another world because the picture they create is so vivid! Loved the book, highly recommend, enjoy!
I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion. This is the 5th and last book in the cold harbour series and one I'm sad to leave as it was an all round entertaining imaginative read with great characters both good and evil. The author created interesting captivating characters which really came to life whilst reading these books. The storyline was well thought out with lots of in-depth details which really brought this world to life. I had a whirlwind of emotions reading this story and was sad with the demise of a character that was a love hate relationship. But it did leave a satisfying ending which tied all the plot threads together nicely. I loved the imaginative story of magic, creatures, and with hints of the mythology God's interwoven for just a great read. This series has got to be in my top 10 of excellent reads and I definitely recommend to those who love well thought out stories with complicated characters and fantasy
What a great ending to an amazing series! I loved all of the books but this one is my favorite by far and I was fully engaged from the very first page. It is well-written, fast-paced, exciting, has some surprising twists, is full of action and danger, the ending is perfect and the characters are incredible. Jake and his group have gone through unimaginable hardships and lost many friends and allies since Lilisian started her campaign to take over Coldharbour. From the first book to the last they have battled against her and her followers and they finally get their chance to try and defeat her once and for all. The ending is absolutely amazing and I am sad that this wonderful series is over but I also can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
WOW!!! I can't believe that I am speechless, but that was a never-ending series of fuckupery! (Yes, I am pretty sure that I just created a NEW word for my review!) 🤣🤣🤣
This was an excellent ending to this series! My emotions were all over the place for pretty much the whole book and just when I thought I would get a breather... more shit would happen! Yes, I am exhausted, but except for the annoying "missing words" issue, this book was just amazing!
I know that Mr. Amos and I don't always see eye-to-eye on every book that he writes, but I can say that our love/hate relationship is still going strong! When it comes to this author's writing, I either love it... or hate it... there is NO in-between for us!
Winter Twilight by Richard Amos is the fifth and final book in the Coldharbour Chronicles and it completes the saga amazingly. Jake and his friends (and not so friend) continue their battle against evil. This book delivers on the action, definitely, and offers a fantastic and addictive story with interesting characters that draw you in and make you read through the end. The climax and conclusion did not disappoint. I am a huge fan of this whole series and the evolution of Jake Winter.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
I’m not a big fan of the ending of a series. For some reason, I just don’t deal with it well. Here we are at the end of this series, and yet again I’m sad. Jake and friends are desperate to end the reign of Lilisian, and they want to rescue their friend (no spoilers). I do have to admit the end was great, and I was glad at how everything ended. I would like to see more of these characters, but the author is writing a new series in the same universe so maybe, just maybe, we’ll see them again. If you are a fan of this series, this wrap-up book is perfect! If you haven’t read the series, give it a try! I do recommend this book! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.
Winter Twilight concludes Richard Amos’ Coldharbour series, and yet…. we learn that there is an off shoot to the series to keep us excited for more of Richard’s writing!
The intensity, balanced with humor and love, make this one of the most enjoyable series’ that I have ever read. Watching the different types and levels of relationships was so emotional, yet Jake’s outlook, and ridiculously funny lines, made this author one of my favorites.
Sad to see this series complete, but excited to start the Dylan Rivers one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
HOLY SMOKES!!! This fantastic, wild, action packed, adrenaline soaked, fast paced, powerful, raw, gritty, intense, dangerous, dark, and grab-you-by-the-feels tale hit the ground running, and took off from there. It was filled with mystery, betrayal, sorrow, more twists and turns than a roller coaster, and where nothing and no one is what they appear to be. I was hooked from beginning to end, and ended up with a massive book hangover because I just could NOT put it down. Two words....GET IT!!!
I've been waiting on this since the jaw-dropping end of the last book and it was so worth the wait. Jake, Dean, and the rest of the Coldharbour crew have finally come to the final battle that started with Jake's fall down the rabbit hole. It's been one hell of a blood-soaked journey and the body count is distressingly high but that's the price of victory. This was a great ending to this amazing series.
And so ends one of the best fantasy series I've come across in a long time. A very satisfying ending even though our heroes all suffered and RA caught me with unexpected tears with a twist at the end. The plot was coherent across five books, and the characters were real and genuine and spoke like actual people, and I felt a closeness to not just the MC, Jake, but all the guardians, and even the White Eye Guy. Officially one of my favorite series.
This has been the most fascinating, page turning series that I have ever read. The characters are amazing and you can't help but love them. A unique story and fantastic plot with constant action. I really can't give this series enough praise. I can't wait to see what Amos has in store next.
This storey just keeps getting better, plus just when you thought everything was going Jake's way unexpected twist and turns catch you out in this book. Some questions are answered, some shocks as well. Full of Action but intertwined with some lighter moments and lots of sarcasm makes for a very enjoyable read with a really good ending to the series.
3.25/5. Again, a giant mess. And I will definitely be reading this in the order suggested, because I still don’t see how this is anything like the other. I am thoroughly fucking confused. Quite the ending to the Zodiac Academy levels of fuckery. I enjoyed it even through the confusion and annoyance.
This series just blew me away! The characters, the world building, situations, fights, sexy times were just perfect!! I truly enjoyed the series. I’m looking forward to reading it again (that’s high praise from me 😁) highly recommended!!
Wow, that was one great ending. It was nail-bitingly good and so so good. I loved the HEA and I really hope Herc's gonna get his own story because I really want redemption and HEA for him too.
Very engaging urban fantasy. I loved the world building and characters that I could relate to. Can't wait to read more! Romance comes to a HEA in this one. The plot is also so engaging. Lots of twists and turns! Highly recommend this series.
This is the final instalment in this series and it was absolutely fantastic. I’ve been hooked on this series since I accidentally came across it on Amazon.
This was an action packed adventure with several twists, turns, ups, downs and a whole lot more. I loved the wild ride, the quirky characters and the slow burn romance that left me feeling all tingly.
