My name is Marco Moretti and I'm the son of the Moretti Crime Family boss. He's also my father and a bit of an asshole, but we all have problems, don't we? I've always loved women of all shapes and sizes and they've loved me in return. Sometimes a bit too much, but a stalker or two keeps things interesting. My position within "the family" has been the most important thing to me, until fate—and food poisoning brought Nina Gavino into my life. I've finally found the woman that I can't live without, and she wants nothing to do with me. My usual charm has gotten me nowhere. And if she ever finds out that I killed her stepfather and stepbrother, I'm afraid nothing short of a miracle, will make the beautiful spitfire, give me a chance to prove that there is more to me than the job she holds so much contempt for.

Marco and his Belle😍

Woohoo, finally got around to reading Marco Moretti! At the end of the last book, Anthony, Marco is found in a garden after having been poisoned at a restaurant that he ate at and is saved by an Angel.....her name is Nina Gavino. Now fast forward a year and he’s finally ready to claim Nina Gavino but she is in no way ready for this playboy to claim her like a notch on his bedpost😍 She is sassy and hilariously funny and the conversations between some of the characters and her had me laughing out loud they were sooooooo good❣️ Some twists and turns in this one I was not expecting but nonetheless made this story much more intriguing and kept me glued to my seat😀

A must read addition in this series and I can’t wait for Nic’s story next....I hope his heroine is Minka...she’s just as sassy if not more so than Nina.

~ 3 Belle Stars ~

Marco was an enjoyable read and I thought another good addition to the Pierced Series by Sydney Landon, but for some reason this book didn’t WOW me like the others in the series.

Now I am still glad I read the book. I really liked the suspenseful storyline and I loved both Marco and Nina. But I think what wasn’t working for me was how wordy it was to me compared to the other books. I thought there was a little too much filler for my liking. Now just because this wasn’t a 5 star read for me doesn’t mean it won’t be for many other readers.

Marco is the 8th book in the Pierced Series. It is a standalone novel but I would truly recommend reading this series in order. Each book is about a new couple but I feel like the storyline kind of continues with each new book. I feel if this series isn’t read in order than the reader might get a little confused as they are reading. This book is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow worked well, but the pace was a little on the slower side for me. This is also a slow burn type romance.

Again this is a book I can’t really tell you much of the storyline. This is a story that is suspense filled and it needs to unravel itself for each reader. This story will keep you guessing throughout. This is an enemies to lovers story. So if that is your type of story, then you should give this book a try. I will say the banter between Marco and Nina was great. I loved how they each gave what they got when it came to talking. At times it had me laughing out loud.

If you are a fan of a romantic suspense story and you like an enemies to lovers story, then this is one you should read. But remember….read this series in order. It will make things more understandable as you go along.

This is the 8th book in the Lucian & Lia/Pierced series. I have been hooked since I read Pierced and happily followed the series.

I have enjoyed each book for its unique storyline and, at times, gotten overly involved with the characters ( arguing with them when they make bad choices, etc.). However, this is the first time I have to give one of them only 2.5 stars.

Although Marco should have been a great story about the man, his family ties and the woman he was pursuing, it was just a meh story about the above. The set up was there, Nina Gavino, rival families daughter, Marco Moretti, ruling families son, she saved his life and he was hooked every since. How could this not be great?

I felt those elements of the story were overshadowed by the complicated plot twist about his secret life. Somehow, for me, the story just never came together. Too much inner chatter from the characters detracted from time that they should have been interacting with each other.

Interesting parts were there, but this one wasn’t my favorite at all. Nicoli is next up, I hope it’s better.

This was an "good read". It was not a "great read" like the others in the series. I LOVED the other books in this series and I looked forward to this read. However, it was a very difficult book to get into and keep my attention. The back and forth between the main characters Marco & Nina was too much! The book really picked up a good three quarters in when you are shocked with the turn of events. Then you are further shocked by the turn of events at the end of the book. All in all it was a good read but felt a little on the unrealistic side which is maybe why I had a hard time getting into it.

Marco & Nina. The initially met when Marco was poisoned and passed out in some dog poo near her apartment. While walking her dog she finds him. She is the stepdaughter to the head of the Gavino family (opposing family to the Morietti family but they have a truce). Synopsis of the book: Marco kills Franklin (head of the Gavino family) and Frankie Jr Gavino (Jr was running a side business trafficking women and his dad supported the business), Marco believes Nina in danger and provides her protection (they want each other but she's playing hard to get), Marco's car is blown up, his housekeeper and her hubby are murdered (her son was in wrong place/wrong time but is being protected by Jake (2nd bestie to Marco)), Nina's bestie Minka's dad (and also a Morietti) is attacked and severely injured (he survives), Nicoli protects Minka (book 9), Marco and Nina finally give in to their want for each other and his mom walks in on them nakey together (ewwwwww), Marco is called to a meeting with his dad and Malone (surprise his dad is FBI, Malone is his boss and running a long-term undercover mission and has recruited Marco into the FBI too), his mom has known and kept quiet but prefers the life of the mafia wife, she kidnaps Nina (with help from some dude Moose who was supposed to be protecting Nina), Mom plans on killing dad and then Nina so Marco can takeover as head of the family and won't have Nina swaying him (that's mom's job), as Nina is trying to escape mom shoots her in the chest but mom is shot and killed by an undercover DEA agent (Minka), Nina is in the hospital recovering and FBI goes into cleanup mode (his dad is going to be "deceased", Marco will takeover as head of the family to stabilize everything but Marco decides to share the responsibility with Nic and Jake, Nina forgives Marco for killing her stepdad (no one was sad about Jr being killed because he was a POS).

Another engaging story with some turns that I didn't see coming. We also have super sexy Marco that is supposed to be a God in bed but we got like 1 sesh (couple of kissing ones). That was a little disappointing but otherwise a very enjoyable story.

Marco & Nina
STEAMY, FUNNY, & HOT AF
5 Stars

Well, I have to admit that I haven't read a lot of these just yet, but I'm working on it. I have read enough to know about Marco and Nina and how their chemistry began. I must day these two cracked me up right away!

Marco is rough and tough mob guy with a heart of gold. He has known that he wanted Nina a few books ago, but kind of kept his distance. His banter with just about anyone he talks with cracks me up.

Nina is part of the crime world, sort of! Her stepfather was a crime guy, but she managed to keep her distance and her life separate from his and his crazy son. When their world comes crashing down around her, she really has no choice but to trust Marco will keep her from harms way.

The supporting character cast is huge and I really can't mention all of them, but that Minka (Nina's besties) is all kinds of hilarious and I seriously cannot wait to read her book!!!

So, the pacing was good, the characters are fantastic, and the storyline great. I really enjoyed my time with these two and look forward to more banter from the Moretti and Gavino families!!

Marco Moretti and Nina Gavino are from rival mafia families, but ever since she saved his life, Marco's been watching over her. Nina is very reluctant to get involved with the mafia and when Marco shows up with bad news, she has to go with him. To be honest there was zero chemistry between Nina and Marco, she was always on his case about something, it was as if every time she opened her mouth he was tired of hearing her. There was so much happening in the background, that I was a little lost sometimes. This book is part of an overall bigger story and the twists and turns just kept coming. It felt like Marco and Nina were just a blip in the storyline in general. I've enjoyed the other books in the series, but this one was a bit flat for me. Nina was one minute super sure of herself but then would get overshadowed by her best friend Minka Gavino. I liked Marco's relationship with his cousin Nicoli, they were obviously best friends and trust one another. Marco and Nina were underwhelming as couple, she never listened to him and he was constantly doing something. They barely spent time together but somehow the book ends with them being madly in love.

What did you think of this book?

Well, I’ll tell you what I thought of this book: it was a complete mind f*ck of epic proportions is what it was. Like, what in the actual f*ck was that? Talk about a curve ball I did not see coming from a mile away, like, put me on my arse, dumbfounded. Marco, the sneaky b*stard, GAWD that was the best surprise this series has yet to see and just, YES people. Marco for the WIN. As for Nina, she didn’t disappoint either. She was opinionated and smart mouthed, yet coincidentally soft hearted and truly kind. I could call her a general bada*s but she was truthfully more than that. Her relationship with Minka, which by the way the sneaky little hellion- I can’t wait for her read, brought so much enjoyment to the read and I just had a really fun time with them. As for Nina and Marco, they just made sense. Their chemistry was unreal, and people that stairwell scene? 🔥🥵, just…yeah, read it, that’s all I’m going to say. I loved this duo, I loved the spin on this series, and I am loving this world!

I am not one to read mafia family type of romances; however, I backed into this one because the series started with Lucian and Lia and evolved into mafia since book 7, Anthony. Marco and Nina were introduced in book 7 and now get their own HEA. Nina (35) is feisty and ready to call out Marco's BS, even as he tries to protect her. She hates the mafia and has not yet discovered Marco (37) killed two of her family members and that he is hiding more than that from her.
All hell breaks loose as more killings occur that are connected to the Morettis and Gavinos, which further complicates things. This is terrific on many levels: sexy, hot romance; funny quips from Nina and Minka; and suspense that kept me guessing until a shocking twist changes everything.
I am not ready for this series to end. Cannot wait for more... Nicoli #9 with Minka to annoy and excite him should be next.

Maro.....

I am fully in love with this series!!

If you haven't read Lucian & Lia / Pierced, then go back and start there - you could read this solo but to get the whole story then go back....plus the books are freaking brilliant!!

This is Marco & Nina's story and it's addictive. We know of Marco from Anthonys book and it's towards the end that we meet Nina - there's an attraction that just can't be denied but being from different families is less than ideal!
There a few twists in this that you will not believe! But oh it's so good!!
Nina and her friend Minka are hilarious together! And I love the way Nina winds up Marco and answers back.

Another excellent read from Sydney

5 well deserved stars!

Wow! I did not see that coming!

Marco is so much more human than I expected and he’s in over his head with her. It’s amusing and heartwarming.

Nina is quite feisty and never ceases to amaze, both with words and actions. She gives him trouble in so many ways and he takes it. She’s his weakness.

The secrets are shocking! So deliciously stunning that the last 20% of this book had me unable to put it down and re-reading pages to be sure It really said what I thought. I’m smiling and nodding and left reeling.

Marco was so amazing that I very much look forward to Nicoli! Each book in this series is more enticing than the one before.

Disappointing...

Sydney Landon...you need a new editor - pronto! I love your books but this one was so full of mistakes it was distracting!! The punctuation was atrocious and there were several wrong words which meant that I had to try and decipher the sentence! Please, get some BETA readers!! That being said, I enjoyed the story and the twist involving Marco. However, I felt that the book focused so much on Marco's "job" and all of the drama surrounding it that we really didn't get to experience Marco and Nina together as a couple except for a couple real interactions so that was a bit of a let down :(

Wow!!!!

Sydney Landon has done it again , like all the others in this series this book is addictive, I loved the suspense, action and most of all the funny and witty banter was on point. Her books are so brilliantly written and keep you coming back for more.

One of my favourite series ever. I love all the characters, and Marco!!!! Omg who doesn’t love a hot alpha mob boss. He is something else and I loved every bit about him.
Nina is in a league of her own , she was one of my all time fav’s

Well done on a awesome book Sydney, cannot wait to see what’s in store next .

Conflicting

I felt very conflicted about my review. I love Marco but felt the book moved so slow in parts of the story. Then we would get a piece of adventure and boom, nothing comes of it. By the time the two big surprise reveals happened, pretty much back to back, the book was wrapping up. I would have enjoyed the information earlier and seeing it planned and played out. The ending seemed rushed with partial explanation. I would still recommend it because overall it was still a good read, just not quite on par with others in the series.

Email comes thru pre order is available, just as I laid down in bed for the evening. It’s now almost 3am and I couldn’t stop reading until the last page. Monday work day is going to be rough, but ohhhhh so worth it! Don’t read these out of order. The background story of others make this even better, plus you’ll just want to read them all. And now I must wait for Nic’s story...

Who would have thought it?

Absolutely loved this series of books especially Marco. I laughed a lot through this book the one liners made me laugh out loud. Nina and Marco make a fantastic couple and the story line was not what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised. You will love it.

Five stars for sure

So much betrayal, angst and hurt. Marco as well as Belle experienced it all. There was so much action and drama here but the story was well developed and flowed nicely. I want give away any spoilers, but I'll just say please read the book. You will not be disappointed. Looking forward to Nic and Minka's story.
