Martin Craft recently graduated from medical school with a specialty in sports medicine. When he went to the interview as team doctor for the Cloverdale Coyotes, a minor league baseball team, Martin had big ideas and knew he was the right choice for the position. Little did he know, his former lover and the team’s marketing specialist wanted to rekindle their college romance. Joel Bray knew how to make an impression. He was good at his job, he was great with people, and had the charisma to make a difference in anything he touched. When he learned Martin was the new team doctor, he wanted to make sure what they’d lost after he moved to California, was something that lingered. Martin was the right choice for the team, and Joel wanted Martin in his life. But something was going on within the team, and it was up to them to find out. Politics and ethics collide when Martin discovers a hidden truth within the team management. In the crosshairs of an ethical dilemma, Martin must choose to ignore the problem or face reality. His future is uncertain, and he doesn’t know if Joel will want to stay once he’s made a decision that could cost him his physician license or his job. Now that Martin has Joel back in his life, he doesn’t know if doing the right thing will tear them apart or bring them closer together. I tried to follow this story. The preview was interesting and I thought it showed potential but the actual delivery is so much less than it should be that the story was painful to read. There are missing words, incorrect words, words used where they don’t belong and an absolute lack of feelings in the relationship between Martin and Joel.
This was a heartwarming second chance love story. I fell in love with Martin and Joel and I didn't want their story to end. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
