This is a new to me Author and I’m glad I discovered her. I can’t stress how much I loved The story of Luke, Josh and Gia. I even loved all of the secondary characters with the exception of Robert, Luke’s Father.....And little Lexi is just precious. Another thing I loved about this story was getting the different POV from each MC.
The only reason I couldn’t give this book 5 stars is the ending. I was so disappointed. I felt the ending was rushed and it made the story seem unfinished.....So much left unanswered and unsaid. It was as if the Author was tired of writing the story and decided to just stop then wrote The End
Though At the end of the book The Author gives you an option to sign up for her newsletter and in doing so you get a Bonus Epilogue. I signed up in hopes the epilogue was a proper ending, but again I was left disappointed. The bonus epilogue was a few pages of the three in therapy and the POV is from the therapist. It was nothing of substance and added nothing to the story,
My hope is that the Author will do at least a novella to tie up loose ends and give a proper ending.
One thing I really loved about this story was that the two men involved were in the army. They weren’t just low ranks action men, they were well established with important careers and they had been together years, most of which they had to keep their relationship secret. This story starts in the years following the rescinding of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” a key moment for any homosexual member of the armed forces. It’s officially ended the persecution of someone for their sexual preferences, but their lives were certainly still very difficult.
I also like how the story starts with the ménage being well established with the three of them being in a relationship for 6 years, along with having a very bright daughter who requires constant stimulation. They are trying for a second child when Luke gets deployed. Josh is too old to be deployed into action any more but Luke was still young enough to be sent to the Middle East. This deployment was the start of a hill of difficulties that the three of them, especially Gia, the much younger member of their ménage.
The book covers a lot of ground, because it is in fact a box set. It didn’t feel like a box set apart for a few moments were things were repeated for clarity, as would happen at the start of a new book to keep the reader on track with previous events. Other than those few instances every flowed smoothly as a single narrative.
I liked that this book didn’t shy away from the issues that surround the difficulties that homosexuals in the military face, or how PTSD happens and how it is often dealt with poorly. I like how that it also didn’t shy away from how hard it is for the spouse of a military personal, not only during deployment, but also during every day life when conversations about work can’t happen because of National Security issues, or how when incidences occur a partner can be pulled onto base and disappear for days without warning to deal with an emergency. All of these pressures face member of the military and their families all the time and I really like that this book tackles that so well.
There was an awful lot going on in this book, which had a complex and interesting plot. It kept me reading well past bedtime!
Forever Theirs is a long but fast paced and steamy MMF/MM romantic drama that spans just over a year in the lives of Gia, Luke and Josh. The story opens 6 year into Gia (28 or 26, her age changed) and her partners, Luke who identifies as bi, and Josh who identifies as gay, relationship. Josh and Luke are both in their mid'/late 40s and are high ranking officers in the Army. They have a genius daughter, Lexie age 5, who Josh is the biological father of.
Josh and Luke had been together for 15 years when they decided they wanted to start a family. Gia was their chosen surrogate. When they met, they just clicked. For Josh, who spent years trying to not be gay, Gia is the first women he has ever been attracted to. The 3s relationship goes from business, to a strong and tight friendship, to falling in love over the 7 months they were trying to have a baby together.
Gia is a control freak, though she doesn't see it. Her life revolves around her child, her two husbands, her home and her secret career as a successful LGTB author.
Josh is a Brigadier General who is heavily involved in national security. He is an OCD control freak, which makes him very good at his job, which consumes most of his time. It is not uncommon for him to have to spend the night on base or be called in at any time.
Luke is a Lieutenant Colonel with the MPs with a specialty in international hostage negotiations. Luke is a more sensitive man, with a more laid back personality. While he is home most nights with Gia and Lexie, he too can be called away with no warning.
Gia, Luke and Josh's relationships is about to be tested in ways that threaten to tear them apart. Starting with Gia and Luke struggle with having a baby together. Luke's family, his father in particular, inability to accept his relationship with Gia and Josh and treatment of their daughter. His upcoming deployment, which ends in sever injury and him facing an less than honorable discharge. His struggle with PTSD.
Josh works tirelessly in clearing Luke's name, where he spends even less time at home. Leaving Gia to deal with Luke's physical recovery, depression and nightmares. The more Josh digs the worse things become. The level of corruption he uncovers, could put his unconventional family in danger.
Gia begins to feel the strain of all the pressure she puts her self under. She understands Josh's job but resents it. She understands what Luke needs, but is struggling with how to help, when he doesn't seem to want it. She struggles with all the secrets her husbands keep, but has her own that she refuses to share.
Each of their pasts color their present and threaten their future. Each trial they face, shreds their bond a little more. They have a tight bond and love each other. They are willing to fight for each other.
Great story. There are a lot of idioms and terms of endearment that are more stereotypical British, which threw me initially, as Luke and Josh are Texas born and bread. If you know any Texas men, it comes off as odd, and I do, and from different areas too. I just put as they are Army and have likely spent some time in areas of British English and picked up some quirks. Gia's dialogue is peppered with them too, put it they have rubbed off on her. After a while I got use to it and it and it no longer caught me off guard. Loved Gia, Josh and Luke. A nice happily for now ending. Bonus epilogue of family therapy, set 3 months after the end, was a nice addition to their story. Would love to see a year later, babies, and Dana.

First of I would like to say that I've yet to find a book of Serena's that I have not enjoyed, but this right here is different. Being prior military and being married to a veteran, I appreciate the fact that someone can understand and portray not only the struggles of the person who suffers with PTSD, but also their partner and loved ones. AMAZING read. The next best part about this read is the courage that it took for them to be confident in their family dynamics, despite the negative feedback from the ones whose opinions should matter the most. I love to read books that are typically "out of the norm" despite the many changes that today's world has given us, because it takes me to a place where I can understand how others may view things. I hope to see more of this dynamic family.
Most fiction I've read dealing with polyamory focuses on the forming of relationships. This series picks up half-a-decade in and is concerned with a trio in it for "the long haul", with a child and the desire for more.
Two partners are in the military, one suffering the effects of PTSD. I don't know if Serena is writing from experience but the characters felt real (if a little too perfect, bu that's why we read romance, no?) and I'd be happy to revisit them at a later time in their lives.
This is one of those books that quickly draws you in and has you wanting to know what will happen next. This book has all the elements of a great story; the storyline is intriguing, the characters are richly layered and believable, not to mention the rollercoaster of emotions. This is an angsty at times heartbreaking story, but ultimately, the story is about love and family. A great story worth reading.
Yet again Serena concocts a beautifully written world with loving characters and just enough intrigue to keep it spicy, speaking of spicy if you’re not into erotic scenes then these aren’t the books for you. Love your books Serena, please keep them coming x
Serena, you do not disappoint! Another series of yours that I've fallen in love with! Need some steamy romance in your life? Pick up Forever Theirs and you will not be disappointed.
Such and interesting story. I kinda felt like we got dropped off in the middle of the story when I first started it. However, the story more than made up for it! Steamy men and a relatable woman.
I really enjoyed this one. It was an emotional one for me. This was also a new author for me. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
I have loved every single book of Serena's I've read but I admit I avoided this one. I've never been a big fan of MMF. It just didn't do it for me. But I have to say this blew me away! I loved the dynamics of their relationship, the romance between the three was hot as heck! Gia's struggle with her place in Luke and Josh's world, Luke's struggle with PTSD, and Josh's dedication to his job, throwing into the mix their relationship with their brilliant daughter was just plain amazing! I loved this series!
Forever Theirs is a box set of the four books that comprised this author's "The Luck of Love" series. I had not read that series until reading them in this boxset, and in fact, this is the first from this author I have read. I was impressed by the quality of the writing and editing, but even more so by the emotional realism of the story. This isn't a fantasy, over-the-top fairytale kind of contemporary romance, but rather one that deals with the kind of true-life struggles people in their situation might face including bigotry, PTSD, communication issues and family drama. I also both liked and disliked that the story opens already years into their established menage - liked it because I found this to be a unique starting point compared to other menages I've read, and disliked because I tend to like the relationship-building/falling in love portions the most. A few flashbacks are given at some point in the box set, and I enjoyed those immensely. This novel starting place did afford the opportunity for a deep-dive into their relationship and the aforementioned struggles, and I liked that quite a bit as well, as so many books give me that falling in love I enjoy so much, but then end before the real part of the relationship begins. Reading all of the books together in a row did cause a tiny bit of repetition in some places in terms of thoughts or issues the characters were having, and I would describe the series as steady over exciting. The steamy scenes are explicit, and those scenes are heavy in the first part of the book (so much so I mistakenly thought there wasn't going to be anything else) before tapering off almost completely. Taken as a whole this is a really solid MMF contemporary romance, with a heavy military bent owing to both heroes' jobs (I thought the military "stuff" was handled really well, though I am speaking from an Army daughter rather than Army wife viewpoint too) and I am super glad I read it. It doesn&'t have the glitz and dazzle of the billionaire type romance I generally prefer, but I liked it, and will definitely be checking out this author's other titles.

An interesting story of a gay couple of military soldiers, Josh and Luke, who find a third to their unconventional relationship when they recruit Gia, a surrogate, to be able to have kids.
It took me a Chapter or two to figure out the dynamic as this story doesn’t start where you expect it to. This book isn’t your usual romance meet-cute story. this story starts when the couple of three MMF have already established the ménage and already have one child together, and it’s how these three stay in a relationship. More ‘Life Literature’ than ‘romance genre’ -although there is a lot of steamy sex scenes - it deals with the ins and outs of a relationship where 3 people have to deal with trauma, work, children, heartbreak, disappointment, schooling, family, surprises and trust.
I do like that the final part of the book has got flashback scenes of their time together. It’s interesting to find out how they came together (pun intended)
I really liked the way this story discusses secrets and trust. It’s in a way that keeping some secrets is not betrayal when they aren’t your secrets to give. And trust is so important. Particularly trusting the timing of sharing those secrets.
I sympathised with Gia, she was often thrown in the deep end & did an amazing job of holding her family together. I particularly appreciated how sometimes a situation feels so out of control that when that last thing lands on your lap it can shape you, break you, numb you or disturb you. It seemed like an honest perspective of how this type of relationship could work in the real world. Interesting read -I would recommend.
I have really enjoyed the books by this author, Serena Akeroyd. They are thought out well, the plot builds upon and develops satisfyingly, the characters are beautifully flawed and yet understandably appealing and also smart, brilliant and quirky. I look forward to reading more of her stories.
I want to be warned when a book includes niche sexual fetish elements like erotic choking and golden showers. To each their own, but I have no interest in them. What a waste of my prime monthly read. I couldn't even make it through the first chapter.
Even before the sex scene, I wasn't loving the story. It starts of with two of the main character in bed recovering from a wild sex session. What follows are multiple pages that detail the history of the character's relationship. It came across as if this was a book in the middle of a series, rather than the first. Then there is a throw away line about the backdoor action that has just occurred before we are launched into the hardcore D/s scene. Even without the unappealing elements, I found the writing bizarre and off-putting.
Congratulations to the author for catapulting herself to my never buy this author again in record time for having the poor judgement to not market her books honestly.
What I loved about Forever Theirs was how real and realistic it was. Serena Akeroyd really did her research on PTSD, the repercussions not only for the person suffering, but also on the family unit. I really respect her for the real life signs and symptoms, the lack of proper care and how this affects the people they love. This was an amazing read and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a MMF book. Thank you so much Serena for bringing attention to something many people feel shame over for having to healthily learn to cope with everyday life.
She has two men in her life and she loves it. Until life changes when one suffers ptsd and the other involved in a dangerous situation. She begins to feel lost and they need to help her realise she is theirs for all time. Follow them through four books

I’ve been putting off reading this book for awhile so when I heard that SA was going to remove from Kindle I thought it was time. So let me first say that I love Serena Akeroyd’s books. I went into Forever Theirs with an open mind because of the subject matter. It’s not the fact that they are a throuple. Honestly, that is what made me w͟a͟n͟t͟ to read this book. See, I have difficulty reading about anything military, PTSD, disability in line of duty. I am a proud wife of a disabled soldier and this story really hit me in certain areas. Now, I know that as a reader I was forewarned and that was why I waited so long. I can definitely see an improvement in Serena’s writing from this book to her current works. I think she has gotten so much stronger as a writer.
But now here comes the part that didn’t work for me. I know she is from the UK and they use different terminology but this really bugs me. The Army is NOT referred to as Forces. Yes, as a whole we are the Armed Forces but as individuals each branch is listed as such. It had me a bit confused as to whom AF was. In the US, AF is the Air Force. Not trying to be overly critical but that is a pet peeve of my husband’s which I’ve obviously adopted.
And how did Dana just bypass getting security clearance? I know she is some super computer geek but that is implausible. I know from experience that getting approved for any job as a civilian in the military is a process. Especially when you are in an area where there is classified materials.
For the most part I really did enjoy this story. I loved little Lexi. She was so smart and I just loved how she was a little sponge for knowledge. Gia was such a great mom and roll model to her daughter. I loved the bit at the end with Lexi’s POV. The dynamic with Lexi and her parents reminded me a bit of Sasha and her men with Tin. It kinda had a similar feel to the story.
For the most part I did enjoy reading Forever Theirs. I don’t think that this was one of the best books written by SA but it was still ok. Maybe I’m biased because I flove her Five Points and Sinners’ series. ❤️❤️❤️
I can't even begin to tell you how much this romance hit my heart. I was raised to accept anyone and everyone with openness and I've honestly tried to embrace my life that way. This book opened my eyes to a side of a relationship I hadn't understood and was curious about. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about how certain relationships are affected by a relationship of this type and vice versa. It's an amazingly well written and developed romance that took me to emotional highs and lows where I was giggling one moment and sobbing the next. It's honest and gritty and romantic but that's life and it just made it that much more real to me. I absolutely adore this book. 💗
This is not your average romance, as it is an MMF/Triad romance, but it will draw you in and hold you there until the very end. Oh, and it's definitely not a short read at a location of 14,317 on a Kindle reader, but don't let the length of this book stop you. Gia, Josh, Luke, and Lexi will tug at your heartstrings and maybe stretch them taut a few times.😭💔❤️️
This romance between Gia, Luke, and Josh is intense and yet fulfilling in a way I can't really explain. Other than they truly are not complete without all three in the relationship. That doesn't mean that clear sailing for them because it is certainly not. They are comprised of two, high ranking, military men, one with a very dangerous job. And in their non-conventional relationship and you have a unique and intensely romantic story. 💕💗💕

A beautifully written manage romance story. As Josh was in high school he was the star football player, prom king, but he was hiding who he was.He pretended to be a ladies man but he was gay and he wanted a military career so he had to hide who he was..As he grew older and raised in rank he was still living a lonely life until he met Lucas. They had to hide their relationship because both being career military until they finally could admit who they were.Lucas was bisexual but he fell hard for Josh. Now they wanted a baby so they went to the top agency for help to find the woman they would want to have their children. They both wanted Gia from the moment she walked into the room.It was throwing Josh for a loop because he never wanted a woman and never enjoyed sex with them. So after spending over three hours talking Gia had to leave and as they say in shock they started at each other Luke's phone rang it was to tell them Gia wanted to have their baby. When they got into the truck Luke asked Josh what he thought,he said all his life he's caught being gay but now Gia shook him to his core because he wanted her an he's never wanted a woman before. When he said to Like that doesn't mean anything has changed about the way I feel about you.Luke told Josh he wanted Gia also more than he's ever wanted a woman before and he's always been bisexual but was happy with Josh.Maybe she felt the sameway. What will they do?Will these two lovers add Gia to there relationship. The twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page.I love the way this amazing author.
Such a great collection of amazing stories. It takes you through the gambit of emotional ups and downs with all this family faces. Like, Josh and Gia have quite the unique relationship but they all balance each other out. They are complete. Love how steamy the scenes are but not a shocker from this author. Just wish Gia wasn’t always the one getting the brunt of the problems. She is sent away, treated differently for her emotions and opinions when in fact it makes the guys hypocritical about secrets etc. Josh is a big hypocrite. I love him but he is. I get his job is secretive but you can’t in one breathe be mad about her keeping a secret about her writing which is inconsequential and then be the reason Luke is out of the review panel because you accidentally/on purpose made him pass out after you squeezed his bad knee. Cause he couldn’t be there a risk making things go wrong. Josh also is allowed to distance himself with the BS with Dana but when Gia steps away needing space because of the neglect and emotional stress she is made to feel like that’s wrong and attempted to be brought home. I loved this story. Just wish we had more conclusion with how she is always the one to bend it seems. That doesn’t seem fair.

I couldn't put this book down. Allow time to read this very big book.
This book is about the relationship between two senior soldiers in a gay relationship and the woman who formed a triad with them. There are several plot lines that make this a well developed book. I will be looking for more books by this author.
Years ago Josh and Luke were in a committed relationship, and they decided to employ a surrogate to provide them with a child. However, when they met Gia there was an instant attraction. The time she spent with them while trying to become pregnant gave them the chance to fall in love. The book mostly deals with their relationship in the present, but there are also flashbacks to the past that help to explain how the characters developed.

I liked the idea of the military background in this novel (box set) but in NO WAY did I think there would be so many complex relationships, situations and feelings that mimicked real life! This was masterfully produced and the feeling of being dropped in the middle of their life was remedied by the flashbacks that NORMALLY would piss me off in a book. Lol. I can say that the fade into the book and the fade out at the end enforced the feeling of being dropped in the middle of their life and leaves me with the hope that there is more since there is so much left UNDONE and open ended: Gia's Mom? Dana and Gia? Luke? Jarvis?...I just finished but HAD to write this review. In my way to see if there is a continuation out there for me. You won't be disappointed, I don't think, with the emotions of experiencing this book.
Serena Akeroyd did it again!! Every time I read her books, I fall into a different world, and Forever Theirs was no exception. From the characters themselves, to all the steaming scenes, once I picked up the book I couldn’t put it down. I loved all the drama, but those crazy steamy scenes really did me in. This book really had the best of both worlds with MM, MF, and MMF. Each time I flipped a page I didn’t know what the story was going to bring and I loved being on the edge of my seat the whole book. I have to say I loved the whole family aspect of the book and thought that Lexi was adorable. I’ve read military romance novels before, but this book really blew them out of the water. If you haven’t read this book I would totally suggesting picking it up and starting it as soon as possible!
I originally read this book on Kindle unlimited when it was released in parts last year and wanted to read it again now it has been brought into one volume. I loved it! I do like a standard romance where the main characters meet fall in love, overcome a challenge or 2 and live happily ever after. This is not that book.
This is a grown up book where the characters show commitment and persistence to make their relationship work in the face of various secrets & problems. It starts when they have already been together for 5 years. They fight to earn their happy ever after. The book is sexy and emotional. It is well worth a read!

This is an extremely well written book that once you start you don't want to put it down another night of early morning reading It covers some pretty intense topics but doesn't become preachy in any way or form Just a great read that drew you in
This is the tory of Gia, Luke and Josh. Luke and Josh are high ranking military men Luke is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Military Police Josh is Brigadier General working in national security Luke is Bi Josh is Gay and Gia is the surrogate to their daughter Lexie. This is the story of their lives together from the initial interview of Gia do when their lives almost fall apart due to external pressures and PTSD. This is a book that handles some fairly sensitive stuff in a great way I would recommend this book
This is really a good book, really it is. I'm just in the mood for mindless reading. This has difficult subject matter that I'm not in the mood to read right now. This is a MMF story about how the threesome is coping with their situation and outside forces who are not happy about their relationship, including the military. I have to give it 5 Stars, because it really is a well written story about their life and how they are getting along. I absolutely loved that it started with them already together. I did not have to read about the long details on how they convinced each other to be in a relationship together.
Again, this is a good book, but my head is not in the game to read something heavy.
