Deviant #2

Victorious

Rate this book
I pulled the trigger and walked away from Victoria forever.

I followed my plan for vengeance to a T, never deviating, never straying from the path no matter what.

So why does it feel like my cold, dark heart just got ripped out of my chest?

I know I should leave New York, find my sister and put my past and Victoria long behind me.

But something is holding me back.

No. Someone is holding me back.

After finding out that Victoria is in trouble, I can’t possibly leave.

Because even though I hurt her, I made a vow a long time ago that I would protect her.

And I’ll move heaven and earth to keep that promise.

**Victorious is the conclusion of the two-book dark romance Deviant Series and is not intended to be read as a standalone. It contains adult content for mature readers.**

Victorious picks up right where Devious left off and what a twisty ride it was. This story was nothing short of riveting and compelling, edge of your seat gripping! I was pulled in with the angst, drama and refused to put it down until I read those two little words that had me screaming NO! Damon and Victoria's story was filled with betrayal and heartache, as well as, forgiveness and love. If you love a dark, twisted romance that lures you and seduces you then this is definitely the read for you!

Yes! Damon and Victoria were great! Just what I thought they were going to be. This book was hot and action packed. I finished it in just one day. I did not want to put it down. I just HAD to know how things were going to go for these 2. The fact that they had been friends when they were children and practically betrothed from birth. The fact that they were still able to get together after all that was done when they were younger was just ridiculously awesome! Very much enjoyed their story!

Do you know that feeling of wanting good something so bad that when it's right in front of you, you can't see it? That was me when this book appeared on my kindle.
I was curious, afraid and super eager to see what this amazing author had created.
Angela Snyder is one of the authors that I hope I never loose contact with. Her words are exquisite and her books shows us just that.
Victorious is her latest release and it's the second book from the Deviant series. But I need to tell you something. This book is not a standalone therefore you need to read Devious first.
This book keeps telling us the stories of Damon and Victoria.
As you know, these two had a beautiful connection until one today everything turned into a complete disaster... And I'm not saying a single word...
Is it possible to end an amazing book and be left wanting another?
It sure is because that's exactly what happened to me.
This duet had taken my heart and soul a left me wanting to keep reading about the main characters a bit more as well as spiked my curiosity about other characters.
Sublime plot, very dark, engaging and hot. This story was a rollercoaster of emotions that left me shaking terribly.
One minute I was screaming and the other ideas having hot flashes... Dayum...
The danger that lurked behind each scene was perfectly imperfect.
Love, loyalty, desire we very present in this book as well as crime, madness, punishment and drama.
I just want more.
Please Angela... Will we have more? I need to know what secrets is Baz hidding... And can we know Sara's story as well? I have so many questions...

I loved Devious and couldn’t wait to find out what happens next with Damon and Victoria!
I honestly wasn’t expecting what happened! There’s just so much action and drama! I loved that Damon was able to find Sara! I’m sad that Damon & Victoria’s story is over because I really wanted more of them, but I’m glad they get this HEA!

Victorious by Angela Snyder a five-star read that you will want to savour. This is the second novel in the Deviant series, and you need to read them in order, as they will blow you away in the best way possible. I can honestly say that this is my al time favourite series by this author. I have laughed with Victoria and cried with her and the more you get to know her and the other characters the more you will break for them. I don’t want to give any details as even the tiniest thing could give a huge spoiler and you need to breathe this in all in your own breath. Angela Snyder thank you for being amazing and breathing life to these amazing characters and allowing us a glimpse into their world. (On a personal note, I can only hope we get to hear more of my namesakes story)

Dark love

This was definitely a dark romance. Poor Victoria went through it and was constantly thrust into harms way. She was much more forgiving your most. I am unsure how she was able to trust Damon after learning the lengths he went to deceive her. So much of this story just felt unreal.
This love story felt like it was built more on lust. The authors attempt to show that love was through the pain Damon felt while waiting for her to be found. As well As the relentless way he handled the partner. It all missed the mark for me. There was a lack of passion and just overall cohesiveness. Not a terrible read, just not for me.

What happened

This book started off really well loved the storyline I thought it was going to be brilliant. Then it totally went off the boil, rushed storyline it seemed too short they were not getting along then they were getting married. So disappointed with this could have been so much better.

Didn't live up to the standards set by the first

I don't understand how this book is the sequel to the first. Which was enjoyable and I thought well executed. The degree to which one has to suspend reality for this to be believable is too great. Really disappointing follow up to the first book which was pretty good.

Meh!

This was just a so-so follow up to the first book. The dialogue leaves a lot to be desired and there's not much meat to this one.

This story could have been so much better. Too melodramatic for my taste with a storyline that wasn't anything special. I never bought into the couples' HEA by books end. Damian's character was a mix of regret and revenge throughout both novels. The first novel had potential but the second novel spent too much time on torturing Victoria. The story emphasized some aspects too much and others, not enough.

This series targets Victoria, the daughter of the Mafia leader that killed Damien's family and sold his sister. Too much time spent on Damian vacillating between revenge and regret. Too much time spent on spinning his wheels vs., actually achieving a goal. Victoria has rose colored glasses when it came to her father. Daddy dearest was a man steeped in death and destruction while she hung on his arm playing the part of the perfect daughter in public, even while she hated it. Her character was strong in some aspects, but extremely naïve in others. Damien, aka Arlo played her in book one like a violin, shoots her while trying to kill daddy dearest (which he fails at) and leaves her to die. A great start to book 2.

Damian's character is too slow on the uptake for someone so focused on revenge. His character is steeped in hate and regret and is misguided when he includes Victoria in his plan. Why not just go after her father? He lacked organization and control, always relying upon Ras. He had many years to inquire about what happened between his father and Victoria's mother which started the whole chain of events leading to her death and subsequently played a large role in the death/fire of his family. So many of these novels are revenge based but felt that this one spent too much time on torturing the wrong person. Victoria's character was strong, but also lived in a world of her fathers' making, until it fell apart. She was a fighter until they almost killed her, for the second time.

More time spent on the crux of the story, more back story and less time spent on torture of an innocent woman would have been believable. Damian does connect with his sister that was sold by Victoria's father by the end of the book and he and Victoria have their "supposed" happy ending. Some stories are not scripted well enough to believe that a happy ending is in the cards for the two mains characters. This was one of them, "too much water under the bridge", too much to forgive and forget.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. OMG! I’ve been waiting for this book for months and it was so worth the freaking wait. We pick up where we left off, Damon (Arlo) leaving Victoria behind along with her father. He’s desperate to find his sister Sarah and would’ve done anything to get the information he needed and now he’s racked with guilt and doesn’t know what to do with himself, he loves Victoria, he’s always loved her, but what her father did to his family is unforgiveable and he had to exact his revenge the way he did, but Victoria wasn’t supposed to be a casualty of war. When Victoria realizes what’s happened, she can’t believe that Damon did this to her and left her for dead, but how can she hate Damon? She loves him, she’s always loved him. Damon can’t seem to leave, he needs to be there for her even if he can’t be with her. When he realizes she’s not been seen for days, the anger and fear are almost too much to bare and he needs to find her before it’s too late. Danger, deception and secrets are still lingering between them and the passion and love they feel for each other will get them through anything, but this time they will literally have to fight to stay alive, so they can have the life they’ve always wanted with each other. No spoilers, this is a must read and if you haven’t read Devious yet, you have to read it first for all the background on these two. Loved this book, my favorite duet of the year, so so good. I highly recommend this book.

This is book two of a two book series and people should read book one first to understand everything, though enough is probably explained to make this second one possible to read on its own. It just won't be quite as good, and it is CERTAINLY worth buying BOTH books. The first book is called Devious and is currently on the Booksprout ARC list, though probably not for long. I bought Devious myself weeks ago and loved it so much that I was thrilled to see this one now on the ARC list. It continues the events of the first book, in which a young girl (Victoria) and boy (Arlo) grow up as best friends and truly love one another. But Victoria's father commits unspeakable crimes against Arlo's family such that Arlo has to run away from the tragedy and change his name. The first book, again Devious, then becomes a story of Arlo's intense quest for vengeance against Victoria's father. After the conclusion of all these events, the second book continues the story. The big question is, can Victoria and Arlo still truly love each other now that they are grown up and in light of the terrible events that occurred. There are some torture scenes in this second book which are horrible, so let the reader be warned. But it is worth reading through everything to find out if Victoria and Arlo can have an HEA. I highly recommend the purchase of both books.

This book stared off right where the first one stopped, well with Victoria in the hospital. I liked how Damon felt guilty and realized he couldn’t live without Victoria but what left me not absolutely loving this book and thinking it’s only about 3 1/2 stars is how Victoria was treated. It’s hard to write a review without giving away spoilers. Noah was pretty bad because of her father sins. And again Victoria suffered. Again without giving away spoilers I might be one of the few that didn’t feel the intense chemistry between Damon and Victoria. Some chemistry yes but for what Victoria went through I was hoping for more. She was basically held without choice. This is definitely a good book to read and I think my review or feelings for the book is more my personal preference with my romance books and not the writing (I’m a tad picky).

This is the conclusion to the first book, Devious. This is not a standalone read but it is well worth picking up both books and making yourself comfortable for one of the best 'story' rides. Victorious picks up right where Devious leaves off so you have not missed anything. These two characters have very impactful journeys that are not always smiles and love but in fact also take them down the paths of darkness with some betrayal and heart break. My recommendation is to get both books, gather everything you need and open up book one. You will not be returning to your world until your done book two. Enjoy!

I was so excited to read "the rest of the story" after Devious ended in a cliffhanger. Let me tell you, the wait was worth it. I could not imagine that Damon and Victoria would ever get their HEA but this book answers all my questions. Questions I will let you read to find out on your own. There were so many twists and turns in this book and danger around every corner that I finished reading it in just one day. Do yourself a favor and read this book but be sure to read Devious first or you will be missing all the clues to the events happening in this book.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

This is book two in the Deviant series and it is the conclusion of Damon and Victoria’s story. The end of book one left me with my mouth hanging open. What kind of man would do what he did to her? The kind of man that had lived practically his whole life for vengeance, that’s who! Book 2 was a quick, no extras, just the facts ending to the series. Fate had a plan for these two, though I couldn’t imagine how it was even possible. My heart broke every time he had to watch a video. His anxiety was almost a tangible thing FOR ME!

Everything fit and had amazing flow. The characters were fabulous and the action was dramatic and enthralling. I just wish it were longer.

Damon did what he set out to do and knows he should disappear. But he can't seem to walk away and leave Victoria in his past. When he finds out she is in trouble he knows he must be the one to help her even if she will still hate him in the end. Can Damon and Victoria ever find a place for each other in their hearts?

Victorious takes us deeper in the mafia underworld and gives us a glimpse of the grittier side. This isn't my usual type of book but this Duet just sucked me and I had to know what happened. Angela Snyder weaves a story that keeps you guessing. Loved the characters and was rooting for Damon to find his way back to Victoria and for them to fall in love.

Before I begin let me state that you MUST read Devious first. This is the second half of Damon and Victoria's twisted story and cannot be read as a stand alone. I cannot say much without giving away the ending but what an ending! Does Victoria survive? Does her father? What happens with Damon? What choice will he make? Will he ever find his sister? Everything will be answered but not by me! You need to read Victorious to find out. It's written from dual POV and it's twisty, exciting, sexy, and a great dark romance.

MAKE SURE TO READ THE FIRST BOOK "DEVIOUS"; BEFORE THIS ONE.
I had to start this book straight after I finished the first book Devious in the Deviant series. I didnt even have time to put the kettle on! I couldnt waste one second on not knowing what happens to Victoria and Damon. I cant not tell you how outstanding this book, how much this series is. You will be hooked and put everything you had planned for your day off just to follow Victoria and Damon's story.
Absolutely BRILLIANT

4 1/2 Stars

The graphic bloody violence continued as Damon sought retribution for the pain Victoria’s father inflicted on his family. It was a bitter pill to swallow when he finally realized his revenge cost him Victoria who was innocent of any crime.
When the rival Irish mob also target Victoria for her father’s sins, Damon refocused his energy into saving and protecting her.
Quite a sweeping and intense romance in the midst of mafia grit and gore.

This being the conclusion to Devious, I was just not so patiently waiting for more Damon and Victoria. This book took me on a long and heart breaking(at points) journey that I just had to finish. I loved how Damon was so determined where it came to Victoria. Victoria was so damn strong even when she didn't think she could go anymore. This was such an emotional ride and I loved it. I just loved the love between them even when it was tested to the max. The heat and passion was off the charts hot and the love was beautiful!

Victorious by Angela Snyder is book 2 in the Deviant duet, it should be read after reading Devious. Victorious picks up exactly where Devious leaves off. I couldn't wait to see where the story of Damon and Victoria went!

I definitely wasn't let down by this book. Once again Mrs Snyder crafts a dark, twisted storyline with characters I was rooting for. I absolutely ADORE both Damon and Victoria. The road to happiness isn't an easy one for this couple. But I loved their journey!

This duet is a 5 star must read!

In Devious: Book 1 of the Deviant Series, Daon/Arlo chose revenge over love and he now has to live with his decision. When he learns that Victoria has been kidnapped, he rushes back to her rescue and decides that love trumps everything. Unfortunately, she has been traumatized by the experience and he's guilt-ridden.. they now need to work through this together. Arlo is also still searching for his sister who was sold into slavery.
The lovely closure of a captivating dark romance that will leave you wanting more!

Love can conquer all

Is it enough to love somebody to forgive that person all the bad things done? Will Damon and Victoria have a chance to right their wrongs or is it too late already?
This is fantastic conclusion to the duet and I hope to read more in some point of time about those two characters. The journey they had to come through, all the pain, all the wrongs done to them by other people and consequences not only of their choices but also of choices of other people. Suspenseful, action packed and full of pain story. Great read that kept me on my toes to the very last page.

Suspenseful Mafia story

This is the second book in the series and book one had to be read first. This is the second part of the story between Damon in Victoria. Damon this that staying alone will be best for Victoria but then she gets into trouble and he knows he has to help her. This is not an easy story or light and Luffy in any way but it does have an HEA. I loved both the first book and this one was a great addition to thier story. If you like a dark mafia story this is for you.

This is the second book in the Deviant series and it takes off where book one ended.... highly recommend you read Devious to get the back story on Damon (Alro) and Victoria.
This made me feel all the feels, I love how Ms. Snyder weaves a story, this conclusion although not all sprinkles and rainbows Damon for Victoria and Victoria didn't give up even though she didn't think she could go on.
If you like heat, danger, suspense and drama then you will devour this book like I did.
