What I liked about this volume? The freaking hospital scene! I mean, man! Had my heart beating so fast! Yes, I find it romantic, okay?! Shut up.

But what the actual f?! What is that ending?! Please don't tell me Euripedes is dead! I'm just starting to like the guy! Come on?! Is this serious?!

By the way, I'm excited about Indian Guy's identity!

By the way, this is a pretty quick read. I noticed I can finish this for like only 45 minutes with bathroom breaks and everything.

This one gets five stars for the trope where someone hides how hurt they are then they collapse and the other person notices the blood and the wound!!! I will eat it up every time! And the ending!?? Please! Mercy!

WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?!?! This manga really has me gripped in it’s palm. Starting this volume out with the kidnapping and fire to the poking of wounds and the ending of shock. I really can’t wait for the next volume.

Ryang-ha saves Chateau from Hou, which might make you think you’re just reading Volume 2, but I promise you aren’t. Being nigh invulnerable doesn’t mean invulnerable though and the battle takes its toll. Then we shift venue to a massive cruise ship and it’s time for high fashion and high crimes on the high seas!

Another fun volume of a fun action series that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but also knows when to bring the action. The author laments that the showdown with Hou doesn’t go longer, but I think it does just fine. It’s quick and brutal in the way of most fights (although penalty points for not checking the guy’s pulse, I don’t care how dead he looks).

As I mentioned, Ryang-ha doesn’t get out of this scot free, so it falls to Chateau to pull his butt out of the fire for once. I won’t say this fixes their dynamic - Chateau is still way too unequal in this partnership and said dynamic is more of Ryang-ha being a nuisance and her getting rescued.

Chateau can save herself once in a while and look after Ryang-ha once in a while, sure, but it wouldn’t kill the story to let her be something other than a damsel at any point in the series. Even during the shopping excursion it feels like she’s just an object being pushed along.

Once we move along to the cruise ship, the story takes a turn that I quite enjoyed. Somebody is on board stalking our duo, but they don’t know about it, which keeps thing suspenseful throughout. This new character is a little stranger than Hou, but certainly no less psychotic, and I like the cuts to them moving about the boat.

Just when we’re about to get an inkling as to why everybody is so hellbent to get their hands on Chateau, the book pulls one hell of a rug out from under things. Legitimately didn’t see that coming until the last second.

I mean, there is no mystery here, despite what we’re lead to believe by the text. The identity of the attacker is clearly visible and their weapon choice doesn’t jive with Ryang-ha’s style at all. I really expected this all to be a fake-out at first, but by the time we reach the ending there’s very little doubt about the outcome.

So now we’re at sea with a killer on the loose and there will be more than a few questions of trust to be answered. There are worst hooks to get me back for another volume, I have to say. This series is still a good action story, for anything else I might say about it. It’s a quick, zippy read that gives just enough and doesn’t ask too much.

3.5 stars. I was tempted to nudge it up to 4 because of that ending, but the 80’s action vibe of this story, right down to its gender politics, remains both its blessing and its curse.

Honestly, nothing BIG happened in this volume and i feel like we didn't learn much about their past either (certainly less than the 2nd volume...). No big fights but we got to see Chateau and Ryan-ha interact a lot a least.....
NO because there is so much potential in this manga to make a deep and interesting story but i feel like they don't take the opportunity and use it at his fullest :,((
I hope we will discover more in the next volume!

The plot is still minimal and I've not got any attachment to the characters yet but it is enjoyable enough to read

Today's manga post is on Love of Kill, Vol 3 by FE. It is 164 pages long and is published by Yen Press. The cover has Ryang-Ha on it looking dangerous. As it is the third volume in the series, you need to have read the first two volumes to understand the story. The intended reader is someone who likes morally grey character, intense action, and slow burn love stories. There is mild foul language, no sex, and violence in this manga. The story is told from third person close of the two main characters. There Be Spoilers Ahead.
From the back of the manga- After Chateau is captured by Hou, Ryang-Ha sets off to track him down and take her back. Pistol in hand, he confronts her captor, who’s more than happy to accept his challenge. But Hou’s brought a knife to a gun fight, and Ryang-Ha’s never been one to show mercy. However, with Chateau’s whereabouts yet unknown, Hou has all the leverage he needs…

Review- An old co-worker of Ryang-Ha has kidnapped Chateau with the intention of drawing him out to kill them both. But Ryang-Ha is not going to just lie down and die and either is Chateau. Then when Chateau's connection to Ryang-Ha is revealed to her boss, she has to make a deal. Ryang-Ha is willing to make any deals, just as long as he stays close to her. The volume ends with Ryang-Ha being framed for a murder and the real killer is lose and unknown. I look forward to seeing what is going to happen next.

I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

I think it’s really clear this was originally a webcomic, I’ve read several that boast dramatic stories that are spread too thin across many chapters, but they keep you invested with little nuggets of intrigue. It’s cheap and quick consumption. This manga adaptation reads like something half-baked, in my opinion.

I also think that leaving a main side character nameless is a completely missed opportunity. It’s not funny, or cute. Especially since he’s in a decent amount of the story! There aren’t many Indian characters in manga, it’s such a waste of cultural representation.

The action scenes aren’t even entertaining. I’m just bored. Really the only portions I like are Ryang-Ha and Chateau short interactions together.

I want to invest in and read manga series with adult characters, but I get more enjoyment from a shoujo high school love story than I have from this series.

[Chapter 13-18]

Whoa, whoaaa, WHOAA!! By far, this is my favourite volume. I finished it in one sitting when I vow to keep one volume in two nights.

I love where the story is going, definitely keep me on edge and I was like questioning everything at this point. Trying my best to connect the dots as well but HELLO THIS MANGA GIVE ME VIBE “ohhhh, I get it but I don’t get it”

The ✨INTENSITY✨ is chef’s kisss. I love the characters development in here, more things started to unravel.

Hou-san and Sunwoo is my underrated duo 🥺✊🏻

Ryang-Ha, BOI YOU ARE STILL V SUSPICIOUS but I found you intriguing somehow 😏

Chateau-san, I start to like you. She’s is the passive type but unexpectedly have some badass on her sleeeveee 👀

Ryang-Ha: TOO MUCH ENERGY
Chateau-san: KALM

Lol, I love this combination 😌

I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT VOLUME AAAHHHH

The plot is steadily moving forward.

The Hou situation was resolved a little too quickly. I guess Chateau's background is the focal point of the series, but I feel kinda bad for Hou and how abruptly that all went down.

The clinic scene is trope-y deliciousness, and Chateau is actually speaking more than once a volume finally.

That last panel though!!! better be okay!

This is the volume that has fully got me sucked into the plot! Vol. 1 had me unsure, but the story has gotten so much better now that the characters have been introduced and the plot has evolved. I’m enjoying the mystery and drama of it all! The artwork is also fabulous in its unique style and attention to detail.

Another entertaining volume with a cliff hanger of course!!

I'm really enjoying this series. The story is interesting. We learn more and more about the backstories of these characters. There is action. The art is amazing (this volume has an amazing frame of Ryang-Ha's hand that is just *chef's kiss*).

I am ready for the next volume!!

Everything about this volume was pure gold!! I loved every panel. I love how this story is unraveling especially the character’s pasts. And every interaction between Chateau and Ryang-Ha!!! Amazing. The comedy is perfection as well as the art. I have to have volume 4.

Ryang-Ha is still a cringey, clingy, idiot when he's not in action. However, as the showdown with Hou comes to an explosive confrontation, new players enter the game, a new job raises the stakes, and the the jobs of our two core assassins become much more difficult.

There is something slightly underwhelming about this series - probably because the main female is so quiet so there's very little dialogue making it mostly action and therefore a very quick read - but I'm intrigued enough to continue if the library ever gets any more.

Ugh, what an ending. And I was really starting to like Chateau’s boss. Clearly he was killed to keep him from talking to Ryang-Ha, but why? Ryang-Ha seemed shocked that Ritzland knew Chateau’s real name, but he also recognized it. All I know is that I want to know what happens next.

With every volume I am falling more in love with this series! It is paced so perfectly between the action and then letting Chateau and Ryang-Ha breathe and actually interact! Also what a red herring! The action and intrigue of each of their backstories makes for a page turning volume!

Its only now starting to get slightly interesting but not enough for me to actually collect physical editions. I’ll give it 5 volumes and then I’ll see what I think. The FMC is way too bland for my liking and the character relations lack depth!
