Would you travel in the past to right a wrong? Solve a cold case? Catch a killer? Meet the 5 witches who will!
Lexi Catherine Sanders seemed like your average twenty-five-year-old witch. She worked a job she liked during the day, and she was even dating a nice, non-supernatural guy. However, Lexi's charmed life isn't as normal as it looks on the outside. You see, Lexi is a cold-case solving, time-traveling witch.
When Lexi learned she had to travel back to 1988 to solve her next case, she strapped on her Z. Cavaricci jeans and grabbed her bottle of Aqua Net hairspray and 80s mixed tape. After all, this isn't her first rodeo. How hard could it be? But when she's relocated to an old insane asylum--now turned private nursing home--to track down the killer, Lexi has to admit her nerves are a little rattled. With her familiar, Rex the Rat, by her side, an 80s wanna-be superstar, and a gaggle of older ladies who like to dirty dance, Lexi tackles the job of finding out who killed two people in cold blood.
Can she rely on her wits, magic, and sidekicks to outsmart the killer? Or will it be like the lyrics say and Lexi's drum beats out of time...time after time.
Each book stands on its own, but you'll have more fun if you read them all together!

I love this author’s writing. I have read a few of her books and she consistently injects good times into each book. Her books always entertain me. This book stayed true to that. Time After Time is the third book in the, “A Witch In Time,” series. No, so far, you do not need to read them in any special order. Each book has been complete on its own. I love how each book is from a different author yet flows nicely with the other books. The series is about young witches who travel through time, tasked with solving an unresolved crime. In Time After Time we go back to the 1980’s. The author remembers well how things were then. We are treated with a delightfully fun tale that takes place in a nursing home, (more like an assisted care facility). Two murders were committed by an unknown person. Will Lexie find out all she needs to know to crack this case? Pop in a cassette mix tape and dive in. As always, reviews are opinions. This is my opinion. I prefer to say little about story lines. If I tell you the story in my review, you will miss the fun of reading the book. If you aren’t certain you will enjoy the book, please check for it on Overdrive or request it from your library.
Fun witch paranormal cozy with likable characters and a mystery full of twists that kept me guessing until the reveal. Lexie was strong and independent on the job but I found her self doubt in her personal life to be endearing, too. Her familiar on this case, Rex the rat, was adorable (I can't believe I said that about a rat). Easy afternoon read that kept me turning the pages.
Time travelling witches spell great fun! In Time After Time, we get to follow along with Lexi on a time travelling adventure to solve a cold case in 1988. This newest book is jam packed with twists and turns that do not disappoint! I highly recommend this book and its series!
Awesome. Loved the plot and I must admit I didn't guess the culprit until well into the story. Great to catch up with Lexi again and I adored Rex (never thought I'd say that about a rat). She frantically trying to get ready for her date with Shawn as he waits when a box arrives with her next assignment. A trip back to the 80's. Shame she really knows very little about that erase. Finding herself outside a nursing facility were she promptly gets a job. People have been leaving due to the death of a nurse and patient. Now all believe the place is cursed - cursed from the time it was an asylum. As she starts to get to know the residents especially Mac (who thinks he MacGyver) and Rex the outgoing, game for anything rat she starts suspecting that both deaths were murder. Secret tunnels, moonwalking rat, seniors acting up, an attempted murder and more are woven into a tale that is not only a great cozy but an enchanting read.
A very well written story. Great paranormal feel to the story and the characters make you fall into the story. Lexi is a new character and she is fantastic. Really enjoying the Agency of Paranormal Peculiarities series. The books have been wonderful. This book is fun and as you follow along with Lexi and her sidekick Rex the Mighty Rat you will totally enjoy the ride. The nursing home residents are hilarious. They just want to enjoy the time they have left and it is certain they are doing just that. Take the time to read this series, it is worth your time spent.
This book was a humorous trip down memory lane with a good mystery. The characters were quite a hoot and the familiar also added fun to the story. I found the mystery interesting but truthfully, the setting added a spooky element to the story, but in a good way. I can’t wait to read the rest in the series. This book is not like Ryli Sinclair series nor Sullivan Sisters, but still a captivating book that brings out another talented side of the author.
The premise behind this book was great. The execution - maybe it was the main character, just didn't bat a 5-star for me. I pretty much had figured out the mystery and who was involved from near the beginning. The clues were all laid out. I really liked the residents at the Assisted living facility a lot. They were great and how I want to be when I'm 80+! Rex the familiar was great also. Not certain why Lexi just didn't click for me. Overall, it was a fun read, and I am interested in Book 2.
What an awesome story. It kept me hooked right go the end. And even though somewhere 2/3 through I did correctly guess the killer, I never lost interest. Lexi is a wonderful strong lead and great with her teammate, Rex, who surprised me as being invaluable and witty. Non-stop action and a great reveal at the end. I didn’t love the 80s living through it but loved all the references in this book. Would definitely read more of Lexi’s adventures.
When two people lose their lives, within days of each other, at an Assisted Living Facility, questions are raised, but the deaths go unsolved. That is until Time-Traveling Witch Lexi Howe is assigned the cold case. She makes friends with someone who turns out to have ties to her life in the present, but most importantly she solved the cold cases. Good job, Jenna, in a great addition to the series.
I can’t help but repeat myself. These books are hilarious! This one made me want a rat just like Rex! While I know Lexi went back to solve a couple murders, I can’t help but laugh out loud quite a bit at Rex’s antics. Mac and a few others aren’t far behind in hilarity. Overall, this has, so far, been my favorite book so far. I can’t wait to see how these time traveling witches fare in the next book. Also, I LOVED the little twist at the end with Sean. Fantastic!
It's so fun that these 5 authors created a world and characters together. Each is writing their own time traveller, cold case solving mystery, with an overarching premise. The books focus on their one character, but are friends and coworkers with each other. Jenna has created a hoot of a main character. I really like her, and hope there are more adventures to come.
Oh this was a great book, not just good mystery parts made me laugh, Rex , Mac . It had everything magic mystery humor dungeon curse creepy use be mental institutions curse ghost basement hidden tunnels murder senior streaker dancing to Rod Stewart fight scenes . stayed up way to late to finish and figure out who the killer was.
I loved the time travel aspect of this mystery...and for a trip back to the 80s. What a great tide. St. James captured the essence of the 80s with all the little clues Lexi used to solve the mystery. The characters are so colorful. The mystery kept me guessing right up to the reveal. The rat! Loved him. And the ending ...well read the book to find out. You will not be disappointed.
I can't believe this is Jenna St James's first paranormal book! Even if you are not a fan of paranormal I encourage you to give it a try it's in the same writing style that you love. Lexi is a fun young witch that is sent to the 80's to solve a mystery. It also has a cute Rex the rat to help her solve the case! What's better than a time traveling witch I hope we see Lexi again!
This is such a fun series. I really enjoyed this book - it is about the Agency of Paranormal Peculiarities that sends time traveling witches back in time to solve cold cases that have never been solved. They have 7 days! This book was so fun I was hooked on the series! I have read 3 so far and they are seamless! This one takes place in the 80s, can you say big hair! Can't wait to read them all!
Lexie the time traveling witch with a rat familiar is fantastic!!!!!!!!! I loved how the 80’s were remembered! The characters were a delight! Tying in the past, present and future was really done well!!! I loved the old manor house setting and who doesn’t adore a hidden passage!!!!!!!! I cannot wait for the next time traveling murder!!!!!!!!!
I've read countless murder mystery, paranormal, time travel novels that showcase strong woman! This book is among the best! It was captivating, warm a bad just the right humor! I highly recommend it to the 40# woman who wants/ needs to chills with a cuppa tea and a good read!!
Wasn't to sure about this book at 1at but glad I took a chance. The characters were fantastic to read about and so mischievous you can't help but love them but can't wait to read more about lexis adventures, brilliant twist at the end aswel, hope the rats in more of them aswel cause he cracked me up.
If you like time traveling tales combined with paranormal elements, this is definitely a book for you.
Lexi is a witch who works for a Paranormal agency that solves cold cases that were shelved. She travels back in time and is paired with a furry familiar as a partner.
Loving this series. Can't wait to read the last two. My favorite character in this book was Lexis familiar. She gets a different familiar on each case. This one was different, helpful, full of spunk, and excitement.
Absolutely loved it. Loved Rex the rat's character and the fact he had a big butt and moonwalked lol. Lexi is an awesome character as well though a little out of place in the eighties. Wait for the romantic zinger at the end - you'll love it.
I loved this book! It is well written and so fun. I love Lexi and Rex the Rat. The mystery is interesting and there are enough plot twists to keep you guessing until the end. The setting of the nursing home is great and the residents are such fun and hilarious characters. The ending of the book was just perfect!
Lexi was great and Rex the Rat was hilarious. It was a testament to the beginnings of a more modern era for nursing care facilities. Mac and Isabella were hoot. Looking forward to more both saga
How can a murder mystery be fun and sweet, you ask? Well, because it's cozy that's how! Fun characters, a huge dollop of nostalgia, time travel and a talking rat. What's not to like? Thoroughly enjoying the Witch in Time series.
I enjoy witches and time travel. This has both. Lexi is sent back to 1988 to solve the mystery of a cursed asylum and several deaths. The author has me stumped about what was happening.
This was a great story. I really felt like I got to know the characters. It was well written and I couldn't put it down. I especially loved Rex and Mac. The wrap up and ending were great. I highly recommend this story!
A fun quick read with plenty of twists and turns. Jenna has done it agin and made me want to know more about the characters and if I will ever meet them again.
