I have to be honest, Just to Keep You was a book that truly was a surprise, as I never saw the intense awesomeness coming. It looks to be Lindsey Joy Lanser's first book, so I'm super excited for her career as it evolves since it's already started with a bang because I found her writing style talented, and very addictive. This is the story of Jacqueline 'Jac' Flaherty, whose life is definitely an exercise in patience since the death of her parents, and Aleksander 'Alek' Volkov, a very rich businessman with ties to the Russian Bratva, though he's trying to stay as far away as he possibly can. She ends up working for his company because she needs the money to keep her family business from closing, and ends up hooking up with him, which is totally not something she usually does, as she's a woman who believes in happily ever afters. Alek wants the feisty redhead, but knows that his life is nowhere good enough for her, but when she gets caught in the crossfire of his family, he has no choice but to keep her as his hostage, in order to keep her safe from the Bratva. Yeah, this story was amazing, as the twists alone were worth the perfect rating because they kept me on the edge of my seat with heart pounding & f-bombs dropping. Then there's the whole chemistry between Jac & Alek, and seriously, their sexy times lit the sheets on fire. There's also this whole cast of secondaries that made up the good, which were very hard to tell at times but they existed to make me laugh, the bad, yeah wanted to hurt them, and the very ugly, and they needed to end up at the bottom of the river. So you see, this was a great story filled with drama, sexiness, and a bunch of suspense & action, which means now I need more of this series badly. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Who doesn't love a Russian Mafia book?

Aleksander (Alek) Volkov was a wealthy businessman who loved to visit the fight club as a way to get rid of his pent-up aggression. He had a body to die for and he was drop-dead gorgeous. He was also an enforcer and hitman for the Russian Bratva.

Jacqueline (Jac) Flaherty was a petite young lady who after losing her parents suddenly, was shoved into a world of turmoil.

She met Alek and sparks fly. To her he was her saving grace, to him he was a monster that would never deserve a lady like her.

Jac became his weak spot and the reason that he would be sucked back into the world of the Bratva, who he had been trying to distance himself from for years.

This book drags you along for the bumpy ride, first, you are rooting for Alek, then your allegiance changes and you swap to team Jac. This book keeps you interested from the very first page until the very last. I can't wait to read more from this series.

4.5 star Bratva read...

I loved this suspenseful Bratva romance of intrigue, loss, sacrifice and love..... a happy ending is rarely on the cards in the criminal world the main characters, Jac and Alek, are unwillingly embroiled in..

Alek and Jac are fascinating, so much misfortune befalls Jac but she still remains resilient...Alek has secrets to keep and tough decisions to make... he could not be described as a perfect match for Jac with his violent connections but there was plenty of chemistry and heat between them to make it work...The secondary characters were also well written and interesting...I would love to know more about Nick.

This was a really engrossing and exciting story with unexpected twists and turns, and I look forward to reading more in the series..4.5 stars..I received a copy of this book from the author via Quirky Blind date with a book

This one started off really slow, it took me a while to get into it. But i kept going to it.

There was a lot of fluff that just could of been left out. It would of made this book more enjoyable and fast paced. I think when you do mafia books, there a pace and suspense needed and this one didn’t have much of it. So it made the story drag and made it long.

The storyline was good, I liked it. I loved Alex, he was pretty awesome. Strong alpha protecting his girl. Jac, ugh she was that one character you yell at like in a horror movie, to not go into the basement, or open that door.. it was constant so that was annoying.

I you have the time to read a long book you might enjoy it.

This book was a fun read. I like Jac and Alek's chemistry and how he truly did care for her. I found her relationship with her twin to be somewhat under developed and a bit toxic. If they had just talked to each other at all....like really at all....then maybe something would have worked differently.

4.5 stars... This was more suspenseful than I had thought it would be. What a welcome surprise. While I really enjoyed the main characters, I did find myself wanting more on Jaq's best friend and more on Nick. I do look forward to reading more from this new to me author
