In contrast to the William Browning Spencer short story collection I read recently, this collection doesn't contain any humor. These tales are dark, grim, and harsh, veering off into hallucinatory and nightmarish imagery. As with any anthology, there are some weaker stories, but overall the quality is quite good, and I thought the last 3 were particularly good especially "Corpse Lights" and the final "Angel And Grace" which was thick with gruesome body horror and was probably my favorite.

There are some dark and entertaining stories here. This is my third Kurtz book and I look forward to more.
