Ali Jones liked to think she could do it all, but being a single mom had started taking a toll on her. Something had to give. Calling the nanny service, Helping Hands, was the first step, but instead of getting a nanny, they sent her a hot as sin manny with abs she could wash her clothes on.
Zach Thomas wasn’t the kind of man who squelched on a bet. That’s why he would swallow his pride, hang up his construction belt, and be a manny for a week. He ran a successful business where his crews knew he was boss. He figured it wouldn’t be hard to get the hot new mom to follow directions too.
Ali could tell that Zach didn’t have a clue, but when she realized the attraction she felt wasn’t one sided, she threw caution to the wind. It didn’t matter if he couldn’t vacuum to save his life, he was great at messing up the sheets.
She wasn’t looking for anything permanent, so what was the harm in having a little fling with the manny?
Warning: This book contains an over the top story of a single mom, a contractor turned manny, and his huge *ahem* aptly named Big John. There are also balls...bowling balls.
I didn’t read the blurb. I saw the title, read a little snippet on Facebook, I think, and downloaded. I thought, oh, how cool! A book about a man who chooses to care for children all day! But that’s not what I got. Oh, no...that’s not what I got.
So, had I read the blurb, I would’ve noticed that Zach, the hero, is not a child care professional, but a construction company owner who thinks he can get the “hot new mom to follow directions too” and is only doing so because he lost a bet.
Had I read the blurb, I would’ve noticed that Ali, the heroine, kept Zach employed and let him be around her child even though, “he couldn’t vacuum to save his life” because “he was great at messing up the sheets.”
But, since I didn’t read the blurb, I went in blind and read on in mute horror as Ali first meets Zach, when he shows up TO WATCH HER CHILD for the first time, and touches her face, saying, “You’re fucking gorgeous.” And when she dismisses him, telling him he’d been inappropriate, he blows her off, repositions his dick (which he calls, “Big John”...more on that later) gives her his “Zach Attack Look” (not even making that up) and tells her “But don’t think this means you and I are done.”
I’m not even sure where to start with all the crap I find wrong with that, but here it goes:
1. First of all, Ali did absolutely ZERO research about the company she hired this guy from, and didn’t even ask to see ID before welcoming him into her home. I’m guessing she trusts him because he’s hot? Because hey, everyone knows hot guys aren’t serial killers or rapists, right? (*rolling eyes so hard I might have pulled a muscle*)
2. If a guy you’ve just hired immediately sexually harrasses you, you should probably ask him to leave. Just a thought, Ali.
3. The owner of the nanny agency is willing to send in his buddy ON A BET to care for children? What an irresponsible asshole!
4. Zach is willing to pretend to be a licensed child care professional because he lost a bet? What an irresponsible asshole!
5. Ali is willing to let a guy who is clearly unqualified be in the same house as her baby? What an irresponsible asshole! (Anyone else sensing a pattern here?)
6. Why is it that men are so often portrayed as idiots when it comes to caring for little humans and doing simple household chores such as vacuuming? Women aren’t somehow genetically predisposed to being good at house cleaning. Men can do it, too. It’s frankly insulting to insinuate that a guy who runs his own successful business is too stupid to work a vacuum cleaner. Is the author insinuating that vacuuming is “woman’s work” that a stud like Zach couldn’t possibly be bothered with learning how to do? Gross.
7. He calls his penis “Big John.” I thought that point should be reiterated. Ladies, if you ever meet a man who has named his penis “Big John”...RUN!!!
So, long-story-short, I hate the hero, I hate the heroine, and I feel bad for the fictional baby in the story and wish I could call fictional CPS on her behalf because clearly her mother is more interested in getting laid than she is in keeping her baby safe.
And, as God as my witness, I will never ignore a book blurb again…

Romance genre: insta-love-ish Part of a series: Yes (Hot & Heavy in Paradise) Length: 63 pages
Plot: Ali, a single mother of one, needs a little help, so she calls up a nanny service recommended by a friend of hers. They send out a manny, Zach. The problem (and secret) is that Zach isn't a qualified manny. He's only there to pay up for a bet he lost to a friend (who runs the service). It's painfully obvious he doesn't know what he's doing. He can barely figure out how to take care of the kid, he doesn't know how to bake cookies, he destroys the living room while trying to clean it. The one thing he is good at is being attractive. Ali and Zach are drawn to each other right away. But what happens when Ali finds out his secret?
Character development: So this was a short, hot book, but I will say that one thing derailed me: Big John. The man seriously named his penis (who was apparently a third main character) Big John. And talked about Big John. A lot. It was weird, like a kid who just realized he has a penis but is too grown up to call it a pee-pee. That bit of ridiculousness made me cringe-laugh every time it came up.
Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yeah, sure, why not.
A terrific story. Five wealthy guys in Vegas gambling with each other when they decide to each bet on what they want from their friends when they win. The e winner had bet that if he won each of the others had to work one week as a Manny for his Nanny company. This is the story of a young divorced woman and her baby girl when she calls to get a Nanny for a week and the wealthy guy who shows up claiming to be a Manny. He realized very quickly that he wants both of them in his life forever and he is willing to do whatever is needed to make it happen. Ex trying to kidnap the baby is just one thing to stop. A HEA ending.
29 year old millionaire loses a bet and must serve as manny in his friends business. Lots of talking to his junk and about his junk- because it has a name y’all. This book had me laughing until I could not breathe. It is only 63 ebook pages. And you guessed it- Free on Amazon. This book is funny because it does not take itself seriously in the least.
Manny for Hire is a short story with over the top hysterical and steamy scenes. The duo of Dezi Dixon gives the reader a funny and wicked escape with Manny for Hire.
This was a short, OTT, insta-lust/love read with humor and steam. I thought some parts were a bit corny, but I was in the mood for it, so I found it to be a little fun. I’m pretty sure this book was meant to be just that.
Just what I needed before bed, it has been a bottle of wine kind of day, but since I am unable to drink, and my best friend is 40mi away, Manny for Hire and Manny for Love (book 2) were the perfect ending to an awful day! Best I can say is you need to read the first two books in this series! Need to laugh yourself silly, and some romance as well, Ms Dixon has it down. Truly my throat is sore from laughing the last hour and a half! Both books were am absolute hoot!
Ms Dixon, I would have kept myself awake to read the other three but... HURRY THEM UP! A Complete Blast! Loved them!
Ted lost all his money at the poker game with his crazy buddies. He begged for one more game to help him walk away with a little bit of dignity restored. So each man said what he wanted if he won. Ted’s request was that each of them spend a week as a nanny working for his agency. No one liked that thought! Diapers? Ewww.
Ali Jones had thought she could manage being a single mom to her 9-month-old after her ex ran off with a stripper, but she was overwhelmed and it was starting to get to her. She needed help and her friend, Sasha, recommended the nanny agency, Helping Hands, that she used regularly. Ali gave them a call. She was surprised when a sexy, well-built manny showed up! But all she needed was an extra set of hands, so this should work.
Zach Thomas was a successful construction owner and his crews knew he was boss. So he wouldn’t back down from carrying out the terms of Ted’s bet. He would just swallow his pride a little. It was only for a week. Ali asked him to fix a bottle for Jackie and he came out asking for duct tape! She promptly asked her friend Brie to keep Jackie most of the week since he obviously didn’t know how to care for babies. Her house is looking like a wreck now – and that was AFTER he had vacuumed and thought he did a stellar job! So Sasha recommended she keep him for the rest of the week to have some “fun”, then hire someone else next week. But when the fun starts, Zach starts to think that maybe he wants Ali and Jackie in his life for more than just short-term! Can they find their HEA?
I had mixed feelings about this one. I was all set for a fun, laugh out loud story line. But right from the start, I would not have let Zach in the door with the pushy attitude he exhibited. When Ali first answered the door, her hair was ratty on her head, she had baby vomit on her shirt, and looked an absolute mess – and he was ready to jump her bones! He even talked to his named “Big John”! I shuddered to think of him taking care of the poor baby! Apparently Ali felt the same and sent her to a friend for the rest of the week. But Zach develops feelings for the little family and his protective nature kicks in and he just might redeem himself!
My first time reading a book from this author, I gotta admit it was a surprise how dirty this book was. Granted I’ve read hundreds upon hundreds of these kinds of books but still when they’re this much out there with the sex it catches me by surprise. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just normally things progress slowly and there’s romance instead of hey baby girl big John wants to be in you. 🤣. The whole big John thing was comical. Like bruh how old are you. I mean it makes me laugh because in my 20s I called the old boy the commander for a little while so I guess I get it. Now that I’m 43 there’s no way in hell am I referring to my bro since birth as the commander 🤣😂👺. The chemistry was out there there. Straight up erotica. P in the VG 😲🤫🤭🤐. 👉🏾👌🏾😻. I must admit though this book had me laughing, I mean 😂 laughing!! It was a total instalove book, but hey, it’s a super short novella so you must expect that kind of thing. It was well written though and I did enjoy the characters very much. If you’re looking for a quick raunchy, funny read give this a shot. Don’t be a prude and just enjoy the book for what it is. Good fun and good humor. This bear 🐻 gave this one 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is book one in the Hot & Heavy in Paradise series. It’s a short, hot, funny instalove story. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I loved Zach. He’s definitely a big alpha and likes control. He goes after what he wants but he takes care of the people he loves.
Zach and his buddies were playing poker in Vegas when Ted runs out of money. They all agree to alternate non-monetary bets and Teds was if he wins the other guys have to work one week as a Manny at his childcare business. Zach’s up first and shows up at Ali’s house. Sparks fly between them and it doesn’t take long before Ali realizes that he has zero experience at being a manny. Zach decides that he wants Ali and just temporary. He’s playing for keeps. He will do anything to make Ali happy.

Zach loses a bet to a buddy who own a Nanny business and has to work a job for a week. Ali just can not do everything anymore, with a nine month old, so she calls a nanny service that a friend recommends and Zach shows up. Does not take long to realize that he can not nanny at all and she gets some help on the side. The romance starts to skyrocket as he decides he wants it all to last into the future. Trouble comes at them in unexpected way, like her ex. United, they work it out. Could not put this book down.

Dezi Dixon is a new author for me, but i liked the sound of the story so took a chance. I am so glad i did. When I started reading this book I wasn’t sure that I liked Zach and his friends. But that opinion changed pretty quick. He ended up being a pretty awesome book boyfriend. For me, i like a book i can really get into and almost see it as i read it. This author didn’t disappoint. I can’t say how the grammer or punctuation was because i dont care about that if i get into the story as i did with this. If you like an easy, fun and sexy read this book is for you.
Dezi Dixon is a new author duo. Take the chance on them as this book was a great introduction into their first Rom-Com of short story series.
Ali, a single mom, needs a nanny. She calls the company a friend recommends but they are booked & only have a manny available. What?! Well, a group of men joined the staff because of a poker bet. Zach, the manny assisted to Ali, didn't expect anything but she opens the door & the fun of the story begins!
Enjoy the light story with minimal heaviness. It's filled with pure fun & heat.
Oh I totally loved this book. A single mom at her wit's end raising a daughter all by herself. Her friend suggests a nanny but they are all booked. They suggest a manny instead of a nanny, what a comical book that kept me laughing so much. I also enjoyed the hot steamy parts too. Ali and Zach what a great couple exactly what Ali needed a man that stepped up to the plate for not only her but for her daughter Jackie. Page turner from the beginning, I hated to see this book end and it left me definitely wanting more. Thank you.
Ali is a single Mom and is trying to juggle too much so she calls the Nanny Company asking for a nanny to help out. They send her a Manny and wow, what a Manny he was. He was not what she expected and what a hottie to boot. When Ali opens the door Zach is standing on the other side to help her out for a week as her manny. That's would be when the fun begins for this couple. This is a short sweet, sexy, steamy romance that I enjoyed very much. I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was an awesomely sexy and fun and quick read! Dezi Dixon is a new author and I am so glad to have taken the chance and read her! This is about a new single mom who is just at the end of her rope and needs some help, so she hires a Manny! The fun begins right from the first meeting between Zach and Ali! OH and please don't forget Big John!!! I loved this story! It was insta-love and smokin. hot sexy scenes!! Check it out!!!!
Ali is a single mother who is having trouble balancing all the responsibilities she carries so she decides a nanny to help out at home is the perfect solution, but she was wasn’t expecting the sexy manny at her door.
Zach is much more comfortable with construction than kids, but a bet is a bet. When he meets his new employer, he realizes that losing that best could be the best thing to ever happen to him.
Humor, heat and a whole lot of fun as they decide to combine work and play.
Ted and his friends had a poker game at his bachelor party and he lost so they did one last bet they were different things that guys ad to do the person the others had to do. Ted Sid that if he won they had to work a week as a manny in his nanny services. Zach owned a construction company but he had to try to be a manny since he lost to Ted. Ali figured out that he really wasn’t a manny but they fell in love but they had to take care of her ex husband problem. They had a very happy ending!
Zach wasn’t ready to handle duties of a regular nanny. He couldn’t vacuum for goodness sake...bless his heart. I don’t know how someone could mess that up unless the thing exploded like Jackie’s diaper...poor Ali. By the way, my daughter thought that was hilarious!! This wasn’t as ‘spit water out while laughing’ funny, but I’d like the number to Helping Hands for my own manny and my baby is a teenager!!

This is steamy, entertaining and romantic. After losing a bet with a friend, Zach is sent to Ali as a manny. But one look at her and he wants more, so much more. He tries to do his job, but Ali knows that he's not a manny. He takes advantage of her not trusting him by seducing her when she has a friend babysit her daughter. Within days he's taken over Ali's life, but he does it sweetly, and out of love. It's a short story, but intense and sweet
This book 1 in the Hot & Heavy In Paradise Series contains an over the top story of a single mom, a contractor turned manny, and his huge *ahem* aptly named Big John. This is one of 24 books in the series and it has some fun, interesting characters who are well-crafted and full of life. This story is a quick, hot and steamy read.

First of all let me say I loved the book. I think I need me some Big John. Lol. Don't eat or drink when reading this book. You will see why when you start reading. Ali and Zach make an awesome couple. The first time they meet it's lust and love. And when Zach meets Kip was hysterical. ARC for my honest opinion y'all need to read this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
What a steamy read. My e-reader was smokin' here. This was a very quick easy read. It did have my favorite dual POV. The plot was a little simple but cute. The language was a little rough though.
A right to the point steamy erotic read. At first, I thought no way, but then I took it for what it was, a fantasy that every woman wished they could experience. A funny, erotic, instant attraction, winsome story. Looking forward to the next in the series. I received this as an ARC for my honest review.
This book was fast paced for sure. However, the story didn’t really build on the characters and was too fast paced for my liking. I didn’t get a feel for the characters and their relationship seemed forced. It didn’t seem like the characters got to know each other and it felt rushed. Definitely a short story almost like a novella.
This is the first in the series. It by 2 authors that are writing together under a pen name. Let me tell you it is awesome! You will laugh out loud while reading. Might even get funny lpoks because you laugh so hard you snort!! I know i did. It's a quck steamy, hilarious rom-com. I cant wait to see what else they come up with!!
I loved this story. The characters were perfectly defined, the story was humorous and light, yet with enough depth to be taken seriously. While the premise was good, the story moved terribly fast, but then again, it was a very short story. With not enough pages to go into detail, the point was made and the happily ever after was reached. I'm looking forward to more in this series.
Short stories are hard to develope quality characters, a solid base, and a believable story line. It started out good, but instant love, and getting a happy ever after all within a week is a bit much to believe. No cheating or cliffhanger and you get some steamy intimacy scenes too.
