A little Southern charm never killed anybody—until now—in an enchanting cozy mystery from the USA Today bestselling author of Southern Discomfort and the Java Jive novels.

After solving a murder at a local restaurant, Quinn Bellandini just wants to get back to her comfortable life running her grandfather’s B&B in Savannah, Georgia, with her sister, Delilah. But those plans get buried when Quinn and her new boyfriend, Tucker Heyward, dig up an old skeleton while doing some landscaping in his aunt Lela’s backyard. Before long, Lela becomes the prime suspect in the thirty-three-year-old unsolved murder of a high school homecoming queen.

Tucker is devastated. But Quinn’s conscience won’t let her risk an elderly woman spending her twilight years in jail for a crime she didn’t commit. And Delilah, bored by the quiet B&B biz, has been itching to do some more investigating of her own.

Soon they’re questioning a growing list of suspects, from nosy neighbors and snooty Savannah socialites to mild-mannered teachers and old high-school friends of the victim—including Quinn and Delilah’s own parents. But no one is safe from a killer who’s totally old school.

This is a fun addition to the Southern B&B Mystery. I enjoy the Belladini sisters and think they make a great pair of amateur sleuths. They help their Papa Sal run the family B&B, but Delilah comes alive when they are investigating. In this story, Quinn is now dating Tucker, the boy who grew up across the street from the Belladini's and has recently returned to Savannah. Working together to build a firepit in his Aunt Lela's backyard, Tucker finds a locket. While taking it in to show his aunt, Quinn discovers a skeleton. Lela quickly figures out who it is, as there is a picture of her teenaged neighbour in the locket, a neighbour that disappeared 33 years earlier. Of course, Aunt Lela had had problems with this young girl and is immediately suspected and arrested for her murder. Enter the Belladini sisters and their amateur investigating to get to the bottom of the situation and get the police to set Aunt Lela free.

I love theses stories where the victim is such a mean person, that there are a plethora a possible suspects. As the girls and Tucker begin to nose around, there are some complaints that lead to the police threatening Quinn with a harassment charge. She does not give up, especially when a couple more arrests of people she knows and cares about occur. You have to admire the tenaciousness of these two, they seem to know just who to talk to and what to ask. As they get closer to the truth, more strange things start to happen, there are accusations from other citizens, another death and cryptic messages from the ghost of Uncle Frank. A fun, well written cozy mystery that I enjoyed. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

I love a good cozy and Caroline Fardig writes some of the best I currently read. The setting is in Savannah at Christmas time, although there is nothing Christmasee about the plot. The characters are great and the plot has a lot of twists and turns before the ending.

Quinn Bellandini, amateur sleuth and manager of her grandfather's B&B, only wants a normal Christmas. She is helping her boyfriend, Tucker Heyward build a patio and firepit for his Aunt Lela. What could be easier than digging up dirt, the real stuff not information in a murder case. Well, Quinn has the magic touch and she uncovers an old skeleton in Lela's backyard, bringing to light the murder of a high school girl, Esther Sinclair, who went missing thirty-three years ago.

Lela is charged with the crime, the girl was a babe and Lela's husband was a dog and, well, Lela and Esther had had words and Lela might have set Esther's car on fire, but she didn't kill her. Tucker asks Quinn and her sister Delilah to ask around to try and establish reasonable doubt. As their list of suspects grows, the cops get annoyed and Quinn and Delilah's parents are withholding vital information, which could possibly put Quinn and Delilah in the killers sights.

Review:

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning. I felt like I was right there, watching all of the action taking place and listening in on conversations.

The characters are well rounded and well developed. Quinn and her sister and Grandpa are a close knit family and it was great to read about. Quinn’s parents are really out-there and sometimes I feel sorry for Quinn. I want to learn more about Uncle Frank, the bed and breakfast’s friendly ghost.

The mystery was well plotted and there were enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider. It was not easily solved, which is how I like my mysteries.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I am looking forward to the next book already.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Random House Publishing Group-Alibi, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.

Quinn Bellandini is settling in and running her Bed &Breakfast with her grandfather and sister in Savannah, Georgia. She has a new boyfriend, Tucker, and all is going well, until she does some landscaping and digs up an old skeleton. She learns that the skeleton belongs to a young woman who went missing thirty years ago.

When Tucker’s aunt Lela is arrested for the old murder case, he’s more than a little upset and asks Quinn to help him clear his aunt’s name. With the help of her sister, Delilah, the three of them begin their own investigation.

Quinn and her crew learn that the dead woman had many enemies and a few that hit a bit too close to home for their comfort. They vow to find the truth no matter where it leads them.

This is the second book in the series and I loved this one even more than the first. I don’t think it hurts to read this one without reading the first one, but it’s so much more enjoyable to read the series from the start. I felt like I was visiting old friends.

The characters are really coming alive with each book and the relationships are blossoming. The story moved at a fast-pace. The author kept me guessing until I was close to the end of the book. I kept changing my mind as to who the killer was. Keeping the reader guessing is always a good thing and the author hit all the right buttons for me. I’m looking forward to the third book in this fun series.

This is the second installment in the Southern B&B Mystery series by author Carolyn Fardig. I enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to the second. Let me say, I was not disappointed. Ms. Fardig has set the series in Savannah with its southern charm and then populated it with fun, quirky and interesting characters that attract readers. I particularly enjoy the relationship between sisters Delilah (or D as she is called throughout the book) and Quinn. They are so different yet the bond between sisters is strong. Having a sister of my own, I can relate to their relationship and its ups and downs. The cast is rounded out by Tucker - Quinn's boyfriend and D's best friend - Papa Sal, their mother Suncloud and a revolving cast of secondary characters.

Once again Quinn has the misfortune to dig up another dead body. This time the police suspect Tucker's aunt Lela who had a history with the young girl whose body was found. Employing the help of D and Quinn, the girls begin to investigate the decades-old murder which involves a former high school friend of their parents. Unfortunately, as the begin to dig up suspects to question, the clues seem to point right back to their parents. Now, the girls have three innocent people near and dear to them that they need to clear. Because the murder is decades old and there are so many secrets and lies, the girls find it difficult to give the police a really good viable suspect to clear their respective families. The mystery unfolds through a story that has a good pace and keeps the reader guessing. I was surprised by the killer's identity and thought the author wrapped up the mystery nicely.

I enjoyed this story and was entertained by the characters throughout. The mystery kept me guessing and the setting was full of southern charm. I'm looking forward to more books in the series.

This is the second book in the Southern B&B Mystery series by Caroline Fardig.

The Bellandini sisters are back and invested in a new investigation. This one centers around Tucker’s aunt and a murder that happened in 1986 when the aunt was in high school. The dead body of a classmate was found in her backyard. Apparently, Quinn and Delilah’s parents were also friends of this gal since they were in the same class. Quinn agrees to dig into the past at Tucker’s request since he is having to pay for his aunt’s legal fees and can’t afford a real private investigator.

Just like in the last book, the detectives on the case get on Quinn’s case for looking into the suspect line-up. I find it humorous that neither Quinn or her sister run into the detectives during their investigation. But they do tend to turn up at the most inopportune time.

The last book had quite a lot of Uncle Frank the ghost sightings from various characters. I don’t think there was enough of that in this book. I really think it is time that Quinn meets Uncle Frank or discovers if all his clues are just a ruse set up by her family.

I loved the twist near the end that put the focus on a new set of suspects and how it put Quinn in even more hot water. Not sure why Quinn gets all the grief when her sister is investigating as well.

Really loving this new bed and breakfast series. I wish there was more action around the B&B so we could get a better idea of how it works and what happens there. Maybe the dead body in book three should be found in one of their rooms. ;)

If you love cozy mysteries, you should definitely check this one out. Caroline Fardig has another winner series on her hands. Don’t forget to check out her Java Jive series too!

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Great Escapes Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Southern Harm by Caroline Fardig is wonderfully written, with great characters, it's the perfect Southern mystery.
Will Quinn find enough evidence to get Aunt Lela out of jail for murder, or will she make matters worse?
Quinn and Deliah
The sisters help their Grandpa run their family B&B, but occasionally they are called upon to become sleuths.  Deliah is older and more outspoken; she even swears. Where Quinn, the younger sister, is more the polite southern belle. However, in this installment, Quinn is standing up for herself. Yet, she is still polite and apologetic if she gets too carried away. The sister sleuths are funny, and I like the way that they keep each other inline and disagree at times.
The Mystery
Quinn and boyfriend Tucker find a skeleton buried in his aunt's backyard. Then Tucker's Aunt Lela is arrested for murdering the girl. Quinn and Deliah offer to investigate for Tucker's Aunt. You know what happens when you start digging around in a murder from thirty-some years ago? You find things that people don't want to be known from back then. In is the case, that is what Quinn and Deliah find. After speaking with multiple people, they have a reasonable timeline but still don't know who did it. But they will figure it out one way or another.

I like all the red herrings and the sisters' logic for suspects that the sisters find. I also like that Tucker steps up to help them. It was well-plotted and kept me guessing. I will tell you that the killer was one of my early suspects, but I dropped them because there didn't seem to be any evidence. So keep your eyes peeled for those clues.
Five Stars for Southern Harm by Caroline Fardig
Southern Harm by Caroline Fardig is the first book that I have read by this author. I enjoyed the story immensely and can't wait for the next book Southern Double Cross. So, five stars it is, and I highly recommend it to all cozy readers, out there.

Southern Harm is the second book in Caroline Fardig’s Southern B&B Mystery series. This is a fun and easy read, with humor, Southern charm, and an interesting mystery involving the decades’ old disappearance of a recently graduated high school girl. Suspects abound, and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the reveal. The mystery is well-plotted, and the characters are well-developed. I’m looking forward to reading future books in this series.

Quinn Bellandini and her older sister, Delilah, help run their grandfather’s B&B in Savannah, Georgia. Quinn is a member of an all-girl band called Sister Wildfire, and Delilah performs at the community theater. While Quinn and her boyfriend, Tucker Heyward, who is a contractor by trade, begin building an in-ground fire pit with a surrounding flagstone patio as a Christmas gift for his aunt, Lela, Quinn uncovers a human skull belonging to a young woman who disappeared thirty-three years ago. Once foul play is determined, Detectives Rufus King and Steve Flynn question and arrest Lela for the murder of Esther Sinclair, who vanished without a trace on the night of her high school graduation. Tucker knows his aunt couldn’t be guilty and hires an attorney to represent her, but doesn’t have the funds for a private investigator, so he accepts Delilah and Quinn’s offer to use their sleuthing skills to prove her innocence. As the case progresses, the Bellandini sisters discover well-kept secrets, multiple suspects, and two more family members find themselves in jail.

The Bellandini sisters have dusted off their sleuthing hats again when the aunt of Qunn’s boyfriend is arrested for a murder that took place 33 years ago. Soon things turn quite personal when Quinn and Delilah’s parents are fingered in a suicide note by one of the dead girl’s best friends.

As the Bellandini sisters try to get to the truth, their list of suspect grows, but the one thing they are sure of is that Aunt Lela and their parents are innocent. With so many years and layers of lies to get through, the girls have their work cut out for them. No matter how dysfunctional their parents are, the girls will do their best to prove their innocence.

I’ve waited a long time for this second book in the series and was not disappointed. There are a ton of suspects an red herrings as the story progresses. It’s so easy to change your guesses as you read on. The characters are a bit eccentric and quirky and that makes for an interesting time in Savannah with the Bellandinis.

I was very excited to see the second book in this series. It was perfect timing for a holiday read right at Christmastime. Quinn and her sister run her grandfather’s B&B. When she and her boyfriend uncover some bones, Quinn finds herself smack dab in the middle of another murder investigation. I love the southern setting of Savannah and the unique elements of southern charm that are woven in the story. The author does a great job of pacing the mystery with just enough breadcrumbs to keep me following along, but not quite sure where the story is going. Quinn is a great leading character and really brings the whole story together. I am already looking forward to reading book three.

I received an early copy of this book to read for a book tour and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Quinn & her sister Delilah Ballandini run the family B&B and in between duties they investigate murders.

This time the victim is a not well liked classmate of their parents who was believed to have left town on graduation night. Instead it is Quinn who uncovers her buried body while helping her boyfriend put in a garden at his aunt's home. The plot seemed to wander around a bit but overall it was a good read. There were lots of twists and a surprise murderer.

Southern Harm by Caroline Fardig is the 2nd book in A Southern B&B mystery series, and another great novel. I have enjoyed Ms. Fardig books for years, especially the Java Jive Series, which made me sad when it ended. In this series Quinn and Delilah Bellandini are two sisters who run their grandfather's bed and breakfast in Savannah, Georgia. When Quinn and her boyfriend, Tucker, find a skeleton while working on his Aunt Lela yard, Lela becomes the primary suspect. Quinn is determined to get to the truth, and Delilah wants in on the sleuthing. I found this book to be a quick read, with well developed plot and and characters. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. If you love fun cozy mysteries like I do, than I highly recommend this book.

Finding the perfect Christmas gift for her boyfriend Tucker’s Aunt Lela perplexed Quinn. When Tucker come up with the idea of making an outdoor firepit for his aunt to enjoy during the colder days in Savanna, Quinn knew it would be perfect. They started right away, even though a hot spell was blanketing the area. The sweltering heat had them sweating in Lela’s back yard, but when human bones were dug up as the work began things really heated up.

Aunt Lela is promptly arrested after the bones are identified as her teenage neighbor that went missing years ago. Apparently, Lela thought her ex-husband had a fling with the young girl and went so far as torching her car to keep her away from him. That gave the police motive and opportunity for the arrest.

Tucker is devastated, but reluctantly agrees to let Quinn and her sister, Delilah do some amateur sleuthing to see if they can turn up any evidence that his aunt is not guilty. Even though he is uncomfortable with the situation, the girls convince him to let them dig into the dead girl’s past. This ruffles the feathers of more than one of Savannah’s elites, including his parents.

The further the investigation progresses, the closer it gets to home. Two more people are arrested in conjunction to the murder, making it more personal to the girls than before. They will not stop digging into the past, no matter how dangerous it is, until the truth is revealed.

This fast-paced cozy mystery is full of red herrings and plot twists. Each of the suspects have motive and opportunity. Like all cozies, the main characters only solve mysterious murders in their spare time. Quinn and Delilah are the owners of a B&B along with their grandfather. True to life, they have to make the guests breakfast and work the check-in desk, making them well rounded and interesting.

Farding is a prolific writer and her expertise as a cozy mystery author shines in this series as well as the others she has written. I have read several books in her Java Jive series and thoroughly enjoyed them. Southern Harm is the second book in the series, but read well as a stand-alone cozy. I highly recommend this book as well as this author.

Quinn Bellandini and her sister, Delilah, run their grandfather's B&B in Savannah, Georgia. Recently, they got slightly distracted, by investigating a murder at a local restaurant. But now everything will be back to normal, right?

Unfortunately, when Quinn and her boyfriend, Tucker Heywood, are digging Tucker's Aunt Lela a new firepit in her back yard, they find a body. Even more unfortunately, it turns out to be the body of Esther Sinclair, a neighbor girl who disappeared thirty years ago, right after her high school graduation. Worst of all, older, married Lela had several run-ins with Esther, because Esther flirted with every man she met, including Lela's husband, Beau Habersham. Esther being found buried on Lela's property does not look good, and Lela is quickly arrested for Esther's murder.

And despite Tucker not wanting Quinn and Delilah to do anything dangerous, as they did in the previous murder investigation, he very much does want them to find evidence that will get Lela out of jail.

What makes this more interesting and more challenging for the Bellandini sisters is that their parents, Dixie Bellandini and Jack Anderson, were classmates of Esther Sinclair, and neither one of them wants to talk about what happened in those last weeks of their senior year.

It's easy to agree with Tucker that the sisters shouldn't do anything that might be dangerous, but it's also easy to sympathize with the sisters that his determination to keep them safe, while very much wanting them to investigate, is making it hard for them to actually do so.

We have two smart, strong, independent women, sisters who are closely bonded but also very individual. Their family and friends are also believable individuals, and worth getting to know. It's good to see someone raising at least somewhat rational concerns about safety, and if he's also the one getting them into this, well, conflicted interests aren't at all abnormal in human beings in crisis situations.

I really enjoyed this book. Recommended.

One of my favorite mystery writers in back (in my hands) with a new series. While this is the second book in the Southern B&B Mystery series, and I did not read the first, I cannot wait to go back and read it. Also I will be reading the 3rd book in the series soon to review as well!

This can be read standalone and it won’t confuse you. If you love mysteries and haven’t read anything by Caroline...seriously...do it. I’ll wait…….
It is a quick read but definitely all kinds of twisty a mystery novel should be. I read it in a day laying by the pool on my recent cruise and just fell in love. Plus it’s perfect for Christmastime!

Short Synopsis (from Goodreads):

SOUTHERN HARM by Caroline Fardig
The Second Southern B&B Mystery

When Quinn Bellandini agreed to help her boyfriend, Tucker, dig a fire pit as a gift for his aunt, she didn't expect such heat in December. She also didn't expect to dig up a dead body! The skeletal remains turn out to be those of a girl gone missing after her high school graduation thirty years prior. A girl who lived next door to Aunt Lela and the same girl who was brazenly flirting with her husband. Tucker is devastated when his aunt is taken into police custody and Quinn agrees to help find suspects other than Lela, an idea Quinn's sister Delilah relishes. As the sisters reach out to the girl's former friends, they soon realize their parents, who were in the same graduating class, know more than they're saying. When their dad warns them off investigating and their mother vanishes without a word the Bellandini sisters realize their parents may just hold the key to the murder.

Family is the strength behind the Southern B&B Mysteries. The bad, as well as the good, tie these characters together and drive their actions. The lengths they will go to despite the past is admirable. I love the dynamic between Quinn and Delilah. The goody two shoes sister and the slightly wilder one who attacks adventure with glee. It's nice to see Quinn get a little feisty this go around. Although feisty for her is still mind mannered to most! I love the subtlety of Uncle Frank who gives his own advice and the nonchalant way others see him, or don't.

The fact that the victim was not newly murdered is a nice change of pace. We see how people change, or remain the same over time. And how high school drama is never that far away.

SOUTHERN HARM is a delightful mystery that finds skeletons in the closet as well as in the ground!

I found this to be an incredible southern mystery. I had read book one when it was released awhile back, so it has been awhile since I have been in this world. With that being sad I was a little iffy on what had happened in the previous book, luckily I didn't have any problem with jumping back in. By the end of chapter one I was able to recall book one and excited to continue reading.

The murder mystery takes place over 30 years ago and Quinn and Delilah (along with the help of Tucker - Quinn's boyfriend) are trying to clear names of people they never would have expected. Even though they initially were trying to find proof against the "suspects" they realized that they would need to dig deeper and try to determine who the suspect really is. Once again they get some help from an unlikely source, one who Quinn is still hesitant in believing is helping (Uncle Frank, whom is deceased). Each person Quinn and Delilah had interviewed all came across as potential victims. So as a reader it was hard to pin point one person. Which in my opinion is what I want when I am reading a mystery. Nothing is worse than having figured out (without a doubt) who the suspect is before even getting half way through.

Caroline Fardig captivates you from the beginning. I did take my time reading this book, which honestly was such a hard task to do. I just wanted to keep reading and figure out the "who done it."
There is plenty of suspense, twists and turns, and edge of your seat moments throughout that will leave you finishing the book within hours. I really enjoyed this series so far and I am looking forward to diving into book 3 ...eventually.

Sisters Quinn and Delilah Bellandini are happy to be back to normal and running the family B&B after solving a murder in a local restaurant in Savannah (Southern Discomfort). At least Quinn is happy, having nearly lost her life in the investigation. Delilah, on the other hand, misses the excitement and longs for more. There is plenty of excitement to come when Quinn and her new boyfriend, Tucker Heyward, are digging in his Aunt Lela's yard to build a firepit and discover a long-buried body. When the body turns out to be Esther Sinclair, who supposedly left town for good after her high school graduation, Aunt Lela is in big trouble. She and Esther had quite a history that hasn't been forgotten in the intervening thirty-three years. In fact, Esther had more secrets than any 18-year-old girl should have, along with the members of her high school clique, the "Magnolias." Tucker, who is very close to his Aunt, changes his tune against Quinn's sleuthing and even participates. When the sisters' aging hippie mom and absentee father get dragged in as suspects, the chase is on to find out just who, of the many who might have wanted to kill Esther actually did.

I found the byplay between the two very different sisters particularly amusing. Two more different sisters could not be imagined, but those differences complement each other. I was very much "in the dark" as to who exactly could have killed Esther, and why. Southern Harm is an entertaining and enjoyable read. Thanks to NetGalley and Alibi for an advance copy. The opinions are my own.

A Thirty-Year-Old Murder Challenges the Bellandini Sisters’ Sleuthing Skills

Quinn and her boyfriend, Tucker, plan a fire pit as a Christmas present for his aunt Lela. While digging in Lela’s backyard to prepare for the fire pit, Quinn’s spade hits a human skull. The body has been there a long time and it turns out to be a young girl who vanished decades ago.

Unfortunately, Lela has a history with the girl and the police find the evidence strong enough to arrest her. Tucker can’t believe his aunt is guilty and wants to hire a private investigator, but Quinn and her sister, Delilah, decide to exercise their sleuthing skills and find the killer themselves. After all, it’s pretty tame running a B&B in Savannah, Georgia.

Then the girls’ parents are implicated and the plot becomes more complex. Plus they have even more reasons to solve the old crime.

I love the characters in this book. Quinn and Delilah are typical sisters, but their personalities fit together well to make them an invincible team. Tucker seems a little too sensitive, but it makes a foil for Quinn’s more take charge attitude.

Savannah is an excellent backdrop for this old mystery. The cast of characters is amusing and quirky. It’s a fun read and the mystery will keep you guessing. This is the second mystery featuring the Bellandini sisters, and it doesn’t disappoint.

I received this book from Penguin Random House for this review.

Southern Harm, Caroline Fardig’s second entry in her B&B series set in Savannah, just about spun my head around with its huge cast of characters and suspects. The central character is Quinn Bellandini, and the book is told from her point of view. Her boyfriend, Tucker Hayward and sister Delilah, are also heavily featured. The thread of the book follows Quinn, Delilah and Tucker as they try to clear his aunt of a 33 year old murder charge, making for a huge cast of characters, as they endeavor to seemingly question half of Savannah in their efforts to clear first Aunt Lela then others of this ancient murder. I had a difficult time getting into the rhythm of the book at first but the action eventually took off.

This is a standalone book, but I feel like I would have enjoyed it more had I previously read the first book. This is especially true when it came to the main characters, their personalities and why they acted as they did. This was an okay read for me, three stars, but it probably would have been a four star read had I read the initial book in the series. I recommend readers do that as I know Caroline Fardig to be an entertaining writer and have read her entire Java Jive series.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions stated are solely my own.

Title: Southern Harm
Author: Caroline Fardig
Genre: Mystery/thriller, women’s fiction
Rating: 4 out of 5

Quinn Bellandini just wants to enjoy her quiet life with her new boyfriend, Tucker, running her family’s B&B—and staying away from murder investigations. But when Quinn finds bones in Tucker’s Aunt Lela’s yard and Lela is accused of the 33-year-old murder of a homecoming queen, she and her sister Delilah end up on the case again.

Tucker is devastated by his aunt’s arrest, so Quinn wants to help. Soon she and Delilah are asking questions, talking to everyone from busybody neighbors to old high school teachers to society matrons. The case is cold, and people don’t want to talk, but Quinn keeps asking questions, and turns up answers that seem to lead to the least likely of suspects—including her own parents!

I enjoyed the second novel in the Southern B&B Mystery series. Fardig’s novels are always so enjoyable: light, funny, and charming, with quirky, likable characters. There’s a lot of family drama in this one—we are talking about the South, after all—and even the secondary characters are excellent. Lela is especially memorable, but so are the rest of this delightful cast.

This is the second book in the "Southern B&B Mystery Series". I found this a delightful read with great Southern charm and fun likable Southern charcters. I highly recommend this series. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own.,

Quinn Bellandini is busy running her grandfather’s B&B in Savannah, Georgia, with her sister, Delilah. The two get along well and enjoy running the business. She is helping her boyfriend, Tucker build a patio and fire pit for his Aunt Lela. When she uncovers an old skeleton in Lela's backyard, bringing it turns out to be a missing girl from thirty-three years ago. Aunt Lela is charged with the crime as prime suspect and Quinn and Tucker are determined to clear her name but not sure how to possible solve a cold case from so long ago. Quinn has a talent for getting people to talk and in this small Southern town she soon finds clues and even suspects . Soon she is annoying the local police but with her savvy investigative skills she is soon on the right track .

This is such a enjoyable series with a fun Southern flair and humorous charcters. I loved this book and look forward to more in the series. Very well done to the author !

I enjoyed this entry in the Southern B&B series, no sophomore slump here. Quinn and her sister, Delilah are still working with their grandfather running their B&B. If that isn't enough, Quinn is helping her boyfriend, Tucker, build a fire pit for his Aunt Lela, as a Christmas gift. In the process their world goes sideways big time. As they dig, the uncover the bones of a young woman who disappeared 33 years ago and the number one suspect turns out to be Aunt Lela. Tucker turns to Quinn and Delilah to clear his aunt and keep her out of prison. Turns out that it's not just Tucker's aunt in the hot seat, the girl's parents are drawn into the cold case and their investigation becomes more intense. Who, on the long list of suspects, killed the Homecoming queen?
More than just bones have been unearthed. A lot of well kept secrets come to light. In the course of investigating, several prominent families have the spotlight focused on them. It had me guessing to the very end. Lots of twists, turns and red herrings abound and I guessed wrong. As for the characters, they are certainly quirky and I enjoyed spending time with them. I'm looking forward to book #3.
My thanks to the publisher, Alibi and to NetGalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Southern Harm is the second installment of Caroline Fardig’s Southern B&B Mysteries. When Quinn Bellandini is helping boyfriend Tucker Hayward to construct a fire pit and patio in his beloved Aunt Lela’s backyard, Quinn strikes an unusual stone with her shovel, a stone that turns out to be a skull. Then, the found bones turn out to be those of neighbor girl Esther Sinclair who had run away on the night of her high school graduation decades earlier. Though the mystery is solved as to where Esther had gone, there comes a bigger mystery; why was she found in Aunt Lela’s backyard and who killed and buried her?

WhenAunt Lela is taken into custody, Quinn and her sister Delilah set about trying to discover the identity of the true perpetrator and clearing Aunt Lela. But as they go about this, much is learned about that time, including information they didn’t need to know about their elusive parents.

This is a well written mystery with many twists and turns. The true villain is unveiled in the final chapters, leaving it a guessing game until the very end. Love this author! Love this series! Can’t wait for the next installment! I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

Thirty-three years after a popular high school girl left town, it turns out she didn't leave at all. Her body shows up in her neighbor's yard while the neighbor's nephew, Tucker, and girlfriend, Quinn, are digging a fire-pit. What started out to be a special Christmas gift turns into a nightmare of a murder investigation. Before it's over, 3 relatives of the well intended digging couple are in jail, and none of them are the killer!
Once again Ms Fardig has written a complex cozy about the Bellandini sisters investigating a murder. There are so many secrets and misdirection that I can imagine her rubbing her hands and cackling with pleasure at the confusion she given her readers. Wonderful characters that you don't know if you should like or hate. Misdirection and red herrings done to perfection! Don't miss this Southern B&B Mystery's second book. Delightful!

I appreciate Random House Publishing Group - Alibi for allowing me to read and review Southern Harm. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Quinn and her boyfriend, Tucker, are digging a fire pit in the backyard of Tucker's Aunt Lela as a Christmas present when they find a skeleton buried in Lela's backyard. It turns out the skeleton is that of Esther Sinclair, a neighbor girl, who disappeared some thirty three years ago. Esther was the homecoming queen, pretty and very popular with the boys, including Quinn's own father.

Unfortunately for Tucker's Aunt Lela, not only was Esther's skeleton found in her backyard, but Lela's past with Esther--burning Esther's car, lead police to arrest Lela for the murder. Tucker asks Quinn and her sister Delilah, to look into it as the police do not appear to be looking anywhere else for the killer. Their investigation leads to a growing list of suspects and a killer who will stop at nothing to keep their secret.

This is a charming, entertaining cozy mystery with great characters and a good cast of secondary characters that I would recommend to all cozy lovers.
