Loved the whole series and the harper series after that you are a wonderful writer! And I can't wait to see if you add more and the next generation! I honestly felt like I was part of the Gray family! And also the harper family! You transported me to there lives! I laughed and cried and generally fell in love with all of the characters! And cried in the harper series! Nash, Nixon, Nate , Noah, Nolan and Maggie! 💛❤
I absolutely love this book the love they have for each other was awesome I felt heartbroken for Maggie how her parents treated her I absolutely recommend this book
Amazing book of growing. Learning what a real family is. The classic boy girl crush childhood friends ends up being so much more.you'll fall in love with mags and Nash .there's twist to the story wouldn't see coming cute and charming .
Amazing book, I couldn't put it down I ended up reading the whole series. From laughter to tears to anger and frustration you follow these characters and get invested in them. So so so good
One of my favorite authors!! Her books will have you laughing, crying and laughing some more. The Gray Brothers will be come an awesome part of your life for years to come. Definitely a reread!!!
Totally honest here.. the story itself was decently good and far better than the actual writing of it, on a technical level.
For the most part, I felt like English wasn't the first language of the author. Going on that assumption the word choices make sense. If that's not the case then it felt like they took a thesaurus and picked the biggest synonym They could find for everything.
That aside, the actual story/Plot itself was good. Teen weeks away from 18th bday has selfish rich parents who decide to go away on vacation and can't bother to hire staff to stay with their almost adult daughter so they ask the neighbors to keep her for a couple weeks then chose to extend their vacation. Teen, having been raised by staff and picked on by the boys of the neighborhood feels abandoned. One of the brothers she is staying with catches her eye/heart and then a bully comes into her life and the brothers all defend her. The family draws her in and accepts her making her feel less abandoned. So forth.
I was able to look past the technical flaws and understand the story but most probably won't be able to. A really good edit would help as well as changing the point of view. It's a 1st person point of view * the girl/heroin* but she tells the story from a storyteller mode.. because she relays scenes she isn't present for. Change this up and it will make way, way more sense. Make it a complete 3rd party view if you want to keep those elements.
I really liked the plot of the book, but the writing was very poor. With some proper editing it could be a really fun read - some parts had me laughing aloud. That said, I can’t bring myself to read the next books, because I can only assume that the writing will remain the same :(
I finished it because I have to once I start but won't be reading any of the others. The writing style if really not for me, there are multiple errors it and tbe story doesn't flow all that well.
I was procrastinating while doing school work one day back in March. I was scrolling through Facebook and one of those stories popped up on my timeline that had me intrigued. I downloaded the book on my Kindle app and for a while I was really intrigued. I got about 43% of the way in and I guess had to return to my studying. I only remembered this now that I’ve picked up my Kindle again and am reading a lot. I should finish it but I’ve discovered so many other books I want to read so much more.
What I recall of this is while I liked the premise, I didn’t love the characters or the writing style. One thing that stands out to me is that there is a group of brothers and they like to call each other “dick” a lot. I mean, I have a brother and guy friends and while that word is thrown around sometimes, it’s not the only insult they use. It just felt like lazy and repetitive writing.
