Ava Saunders #3

Silent Redemption

Rate this book
In this gripping novel by Amazon Charts bestselling author Ellen J. Green, the past is not a place for forgiveness…but for revenge.

Ava Saunders’s memories are the things nightmares are made of. Only three years old when her mother was murdered and her father disappeared, Ava’s been living to avenge the past—and eliminating anyone who comes between her and the truth. Off the grid and on the run, Ava has fled the United States on a willful mission: To seek out those who adopted her and find the blood relatives who abandoned her. Whatever the risk.

To do it, Ava needs the help of the only two people she can trust with her secrets: Detective Russell Bowers and her reluctant best friend, Joanne. Together they set off on a journey down Ava’s dark and twisted history that reaches from Italy to the jungles of Vietnam and to Paris for a chilling family reunion and a final reckoning.

For Ava, as a lifetime of betrayal, murder, and revenge comes full circle, even redemption comes with a price.

The third book in the Ava Saunders series. Ava is after the truth and revenge. I recommend reading the first two books first. This one wraps up the family drama and mysteries. Fast-paced and exciting.

Twist, Turns, Confusion.

Twist, turns, and confusing describe this book. But that being said, I enjoyed it and couldn't stop reading/listening to Silent Redemption. A few times I had to go back to make sure what was going on and at times, I had to think about which character was which. But I honestly think that is what made it a great read. I would highly recommend reading all three books in this series one after the other. And last but not least , EXCELLENT narration by Angela Dawe, her accents and voices for different characters was fantastic. Not only would I read more from Ellen J. Green but also anything Angela Dawe narrates.

This is the 3rd and last book in the series. This book found Ava continuing to search for answers from her past and find her dad. There were several people jetting all over the world trying to help find those answers. These really need to be read in order for them to make sense. Finally all the secrets, lies and family drama are revealed. Ava finds the answers she was looking for and more. Lots of action.

After reading Twist of Faith, I got incredibly hooked on the story therefore reading the next 2 was a must.
Loved how twisted the whole series was, just when I thought I was figuring it out, a curveball would come and mess everything up. Ellen is a fantastic writer!

Mystery, Action, Suspense

"Silent Redemption" has it all Mystery, Action, and Suspense. This book is about 4 young people and a 30 year old secret. Four young people went to North Vietnam, 3 returned home, one remained missing. What happened there they vowed to keep secret and never speak of, but someone knows. None of them are safe.

The book keeps you guessing every step of the way. It takes you from Vietnam, to the United States, to Italy to France and back to Vietnam. What is the secret and how does it all end?

Lots of twists and turns along the way. If you like action packed mysteries than I recommend this book to you.

Thanks to Ellen J. Green, Thomas & Mercer publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review an advance copy of the book.

This dark and gripping thriller will grab you from the start. I highly recommend reading the first two books first. Ava is determined to get to the rest of the truth about her family at any cost. What follows is an intense journey from country to country. Finally the answers are all revealed and there are plenty of shocks along the way. Russell and Joanne are back to help solve these mysteries. This is an intense read that wraps up this family saga beautifully. Well written characters and drama combine to make reading this psychological thriller an experience. The ending is beyond perfect and had me cheering. Ava isn't your typical heroine, but you can't help but root for her.

Wow, what an ending! I really wasn't sure where this third and final book in the trilogy was headed, as I thought most of the questions about Ava's background and family had been answered. Far from it! This story was packed with new people and discoveries and I had to slow down and really pay attention to keep all the characters and locations straight. It's worth it though, as once everything is finally pieced together (and it takes until the last few pages) the outcome is brilliant. There is so much in depth history about Saigon fifty years ago, along with various locations in France in Italy, and the author makes you feel like you are there and part of the tale.

The flashback opening might make you wonder how this could ever be related to what we've seen before, but pay attention and remember all of the characters. It's vital to understanding the current events and how Ava, Anais, Philomena and everyone else are connected. Russell and Joanne are also back and thrown right back into a new investigation. They come to terms with each other's previous behavior and realize they need each other more than they thought. Every new character that we meet is vital to the history of these families, I can't say enough to pay close attention and try to keep it sorted as the story progresses.

This author is brilliant and needs much more recognition for her books. I don't know where she's headed after completing this trilogy but I will be first in line to see where she takes us!

I see many people loves this book, but I somehow can't quite put my thoughts straight about this.
Even though I finished this last night, the twists and turns kinda has me in thoughts still. One revelation in particular had me staggered and I can't decide how to feel about it.

It took me a long time to get "into" this book, the first chapter thoroughly confused me( so did the book having so many characters and their connection to each other. ) and I listened to it 3 times at least! But anyhow when I got past about 10 chapters, the characters which seemed thrown at me randomly at first started to make sense. Maybe because of the restlessness I felt after the first chapters, I was adamant to finish it so I continued. Then it got interesting but I had to go back to previous chapters a couple of time to remember who was whom.

Anyhow, probably should have read the first two books before. It probably would've made sense then, idk. All in all, not a fan. Far too complex for me.

This was a gripping, intense novel and it was good! I already enjoy psychological thrillers and this had all the elements - a strong MC seeking the truth, supportive characters, and descriptive environments. I didn't realize this is #3 in a series, so this can be read as a stand alone.

Holy crap! I loved the first book (Twist of Faith) and read it years ago. I never forgot it because it was so awesome! The ending took me by surprise. The second book, Absolution, was just as good, if not better! The story of Ava Saunders and all her twists and turns was captivating. This third book, and final in the trilogy, had so many twists and turns that my head was literally spinning! I couldn’t put it down! There has been very few books that have had me so intrigued, as well as shocked with each revelation! The twists and turns are completely insane, but SO GOOD!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Griping

Wow just wow! This is the perfect ending for Ava. Green leads you on a journey from the first page till the last. She gives you twist and turns with Russell and Joann from Jersey to Italy and then all the way to Vietnam. Always leaving you wondering what could happen next. Ava finally gets the answers she been searching for from the beginning. But will she be able to handle the truth once she finds it.

After reading Twist of Faith by Ellen, I had to read the next two. I think my downfall was that I had read the first two in June, and now I finally got to Redemption in May, almost a year later. I recommend reading them back to back, as there are many twists, and many characters to follow throughout the twists and turns. I didn’t find this one as gripping as the others, but it did not disappoint for thrills and deceptions.

I might read this series again! As complicated as it was, this series was so addictive! I read the last book, Silent Redemption, in 3 days! I HAD to put it down because of life and work but might have read it in one day if I could have. The deceit, the lies, the twists were all the kind of deceptive characteristics my curious mind likes to wrap around. What an amazing movie this could be! Thank you for a good read because my last book took 5 months to finish.

Read the series

This, the last of the series, has been quite a ride! The subplots of the previous books are finally woven into the central story and well done! So many things in life are set in motion when we are young; Green takes that idea and runs with it. I have to say the ending was anticlimactic, though it was the end it needed. Be sure to read this as a series or you will be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book. It took a while to get into but that's down to the fact that I was reading part three of a trilogy (so far?) and a few characters had alias' or name changes. Very good on plot and suspense, every time I thought I had it figured out, the story would swerve. It gave me everything I love in this type of story.

What a mess! Have you ever tried to untangle necklace chains, or find your way through a tangled ball of yarn? You really don't know where or how to proceed, but you can't let it go. The twists and turns, the ins and outs of this story are captivating and intriguing. The ending, for me, sparked a wicked giggle. This is a series. Read the books in order for the full effect. Great reading!

Third in a series. Author should have stopped at one. Characters were intriguing, but the plot got more convoluted as the series went on, making it almost impossible to care what happen to the storytellers and bit players. Hope author has sense enough to let this story arc die.

Two stars out of five.

Since I read the first 2 in this series, I figured I'd better read the final one (I hate series books by the way, and this was only my second series I've ever read, and likely one of my last). This one had so many players/characters that it was almost too hard to follow (keeping names with notes would have been helpful). By the end I just wanted it over and done.

A James Bind Reminder

This book has so many characters and plots that it is just like reading a James Bond book. But like Bond it takes the reader on a fast paced and always exciting journey . The Ava Saunders trilogy is a great way to escape reality particularly in this pandemic .
I recommend all three books .

Okay.. I read all three books and none of them impressed me.

I kept hoping the story would get better or the characters would become more believable.

Not bad, could just be me but... jus passable as a series

The last in the trilogy of Ava Sanders, or is it? This story could continue. I liked this one less than the others, too convoluted for me. But, I had to read to the end so questions could be resolved.

Fantastic series. The characters were so well developed and were carried throughout the three book series. The story and plot had me guessing until the final chapters. One of the best mystery series I have read. Highly recommend.

Perfect Ending

If i could give this one 10 stars, I would have. Most of the time when reading, you can figure out what is going to happen next. Not this trilogy. The twists just kept coming. Well done. I can't wait to read what you write next.

This was a pretty good mystery. The only thing I didn't like were the names she chose for the main characters. It's hard for me to keep track of who's who when they all start with A, especially when you have to put it down for a couple of days and then come back to it.

Good read.

This wrapped up most of the mystery from the first two books. You Must read them first or you will be totally lost here. There are twists and turns throughout the three books that will keep you reading.

WOW . . . I didn't see any of that coming! This was a powerfully written, twisted turn per second, thriller to wrap up the "Ava Saunders" series book.
I'm thinking there might be another installment coming along in the future . . . . . . .?

Suspense and more suspense

Was very suspenseful. The twists and turns very surprising. I didn’t like how it ended but still a very good read. Definitely need to read all 3 in series to understand.
