Butterfly Kisses is my debut novella that I've finally had the courage to put out to the world. I'm a country girl at heart and live in Dallas, Texas with my wife Millie and our three furbabies. Have a question or comment? Find me at: jessica_pots@yahoo.com
Told from Wynter (ex-cop and sort of private detective agency owner) and Brooklyn (windowed, looking for new start detective agency employee) first person point of view in alternating chapters. Besides the story of them falling in love there are a couple of cases we follow. I’m sorry to say that they are not very exciting and the resolutions are a little bit groan-inducing.
Wynter and Brooklyn fall in love and quickly. Even though we hear the story from their point of view, I always felt on the outside looking in and the glass was a bit opaque at that. I can’t quite get a handle on either character or why they fall so deeply in love.
There is definitely sex in this story. I was a hit worried after the first kiss when mouths were being wiped... Would the sex be told with the same gritty realism? Sort of yes.
I found this entirely inoffensive. Not very gripping. And couldn’t quite get involved in the characters. I think there were some brilliant ideas in it, and I wonder if this is a book by someone who is still honing their craft. There is certainly promise for the future.

I'm feeling a bit mean only giving 3* - but the writing was initially hard to flow though, and the book ended abruptly at 80% of book read - the rest was a "sample freebie" - so it felt like I was being sold short. Story OK, but nothing great or memorable.
Loved this book!! .. such an amazing story and I loved the private investigator situation between them and the scenes are hottttt 🙂 .. and I was worried towards the end thinking there going to fall out but it made it so much better it wasn't cliche 😍 pair of cuties
Never been much of a fan of first-person style stories, yet the author Jessica Pots weaves a likable story using that style. Liked both Wynter the ex-cop, owner of a private investigation business and Brooklyn, a widow who works her, who fall in love and how they learn about each other. Feel like the author needs to write more with these two, perhaps when Brooklyn brings Wynter home to Buffalo.
A young woman moves from one city to avoid memories and encounters more memories.
A job interview with a private investigator and her first case involves a lost child. A pretty privileged young girl whose parents forgot how to love their child. The investigator finds the young woman and hopefully helps her to recovery. Along the way the two investigators find each other or not? Enjoy!
It's rare to find someone who shares your same ideals. Working together as Nightcrawlers, Wynter and Brooklyn find that and more. This story was really cute and a joy to read. This author writes in a way that pulls you in and makes you not want to put the story down. If you're looking for a good book with minimum drama, love overflowing and a little bit of mystery, this is definitely for you. Happy reading!
Amazing, romantic, magical and erotic story you don't want to miss. Impressive, beautifully written that kept me glued to the pages until the end, and then left me wanting more. Wynter and Brooklyn are perfect together, and I love to read more about them, of a series of cases and future adventures together, lightning the dark. I just loved it and I recommend it.
If you go to the trouble to research viticulture and enology then how can you not know that grapes grow on vines, not trees. There’s no such thing as a grape tree.
