The Éclair series of yuri anthologies really do improve with each volume, although I'm a bit torn as to whether I prefer this one or Éclair Blanche: A Girls' Love Anthology That Resonates in Your Heart. Certainly Fly's contribution to Blanche is stronger than her work in Bleue, although even not being a huge fan of student/teacher relationships I found myself enjoying the bittersweetness of the piece. Once again the slightly sadder stories about yearning are the strongest, with the exception being the sibling incest one, which just felt needlessly tragic, even if you like that trope. (Which I admit isn't my favorite.) Overall this is a good anthology of solid stories, even the continuation of Canno's series, which wasn't great in the previous two installments.

This anthology series has now made it to two straight instalments of very high quality. I read the first volume of the Syrup yuri anthology earlier this week and the comparison, for me, was not even close.

There are a lot of good stories in this instalment and only a couple meh ones. The only straight up dud is the incest one; you’re never going to get me to buy an incest story, let alone a yuri one. Fortunately it’s the exception and not the rule here.

Oddly, two of the best involve adult-teenager pairings which is another thing that I tend to be very critical of. One of them is written by Fly, who did the best story in the last volume, and they get around this trope by making the characters VERY aware of the consequences involved for everybody if they did anything. It was not as good as their previous work, but I did really enjoy it.

The better version of this is Unresolved Prologue, which is near the start of the book and is one of the best stories. This one is about a chance encounter between a teenager and a young woman on a ferry. It’s very much about two people falling in love very quickly, but the author smartly flips it so the teenager takes the lead in terms of power dynamics (the young woman is pretty hopeless). It also deals with the age gap in a realistic way and has an utterly charming conclusion.

However, I ended up thinking the best part of this anthology turned out to be Love Drops, a story that starts with a ridiculous premise of a student making a love potion out of a jar of candy and getting her friend to take it. It turns into a very sweet narrative between the two over the course of a couple weeks.

This was, hands down, the one story that I felt I wanted more of - it could easily have been spun off into a full series with that premise and the characters complimented one another perfectly. It’s got a real spark to it.

So, that’s what I liked most out of a really good volume of Eclair. I’m now to the point where I’m actively looking forward to these coming out rather than wondering if they’ll be any good and that’s a net positive.

2020 Read #511

I really enjoyed the first half of this anthology — until the latter half with some problematic and/or half-baked stories. I really did not like one about supposed sisters who find out they’re not related, and the one girl ends up breaking into the other girl’s house like she’s a crazy stalker. But there were some good stories that I enjoyed nonetheless. I look forward to trying the other anthologies out when they’re released (though I still need to read Eclair Blanche, the second anthology).

New anthology, same shit. 2 stars because there are some cute stories that salvage this collection, but 3 stars docked because of Shuninta Amano's weird incest plot and Canno, Auri Hirao, and possibly Aya Fumio's lengthy pedophile stories. I know it's a long shot that they'll even see this, but they seriously need to stop bringing these people back or at least call them out on this shit. I'm sick of reading "The Unemployed Woman and the High School Girl" and everybody else's weird fetishism of literal children. It's irresponsible to keep romanticizing grooming and statutory rape.

Éclair #3 offers a fun mixed bag of yuri anthologies. While some tales stand out more than others, overall, it's a recommended read, though you're not missing much.

The artwork was nice for all of the stories. In the first chapter the main character repeatedly hounds her love interest till she wears her down. After you convey your romantic interest in someone and the other says no then you accept and move on, not continuously bother them.
The second chapters title is creepy and it’s just gets worse. A adult ten+ years older than the love interest(16) kidnaps the kid. I didn’t like how the main character said she’s wasted her life when she’s only in her twenties.
Chapter 6 is another creepy story of a kid and adult, but worse than chapter 2.
Chapter 9 is hell no.
Chapter 10 was really cute.
Chapter 12 is another hell no.
In one of the stories they mention drinking milk increases your bust and I’ve seen this in various anime but is this true?
This anthology would be a lot better without the pedophilia and incest stories. Unfortunately it just contributes to the stereotype of gay people can’t be trusted around kids. It also equates pedophilia, incest, and lesbians as all being interrelated. No, incest and pedophilia are not the same as lesbians. It is possible to have good yuri manga like How Do We Relationship? and Sweet Blue Flowers. This manga is not one.
It also didn’t need the explicit content warning. There were no straight up sex scenes in it.

Rating: 4 stars - an adorable collection of Yuri manga

"แม้คำพูดนั้นจะเป็นแค่ความอยากรู้อยากเห็น แม้เป็นหนังที่สักวันก็ต้องจบลง ฉันก็อยากลองเฝ้าดูเรื่องราวทั่ได้เขียนไปพร้อมกับเธอ"

"Eclair Bleue' is a collection of short Yuri manga that is sure to make you swoon! That is, if you can overlook the more uncomfy ones, like the incest one, the student-teacher one, and the lolicon one. Yeah, they kinda threw me off. I loved all the different art styles so much, though! Thirteen different stories from thirteen different mangakas all revolving around Girl Love? It's everything that I need to satisfy my little Yuri-loving heart.

This was a cute anthology of girls love stories. I have a hard time reviewing short story collections, there were a couple I loved, most were fine, and some I didn't enjoy. With the ones I loved, I wanted more. I wish I would have read the second collection before this one. While you don't have to read them in order, there are some stories that continue from the last one.

Favorite stories: Bleue Line by U35, The Joy of Big Boobs by Tamamushi Oku, Open Your Eyes by Kagekichi Tadano, and Love Drops by Hiroichi.

CW: Student Teacher Relationship, Grief, Death of a Parent, Incest.

This Girls' Love Anthology has a ton of cute stories, one or two really heartfelt ones, and some that kinda fell flat. I like seeing some different mangakas but there wasn't anything mind-blowing about this anthology.

Another really cute anthology of yuri love stories; it's been fun seeing reoccurring authors as well as new ones, and there's a good balance of all sorts of different stories here.

Most of the stories were cute, some problematic, and others didn't make sense. It did remind me of why I don't typically like short stories because the ones I liked i wanted more of.

I love lesbians. I'm desperate for rep. Maybe five stars is a bit much but I don't care.

It's hard to read and has some disgusting tropes like pedophilia and incest, it depicts lesbians in a way they shouldn't be depicted in and makes them out to be predatory

4 for the hilarious Auri Hirao story at the end, and getting Reine Hibiki to contribute an illustration.

So wonderful. Some end much too soon.

Another great volume in the series. I just love seeing all these stories by the icons of the yuri genre, as well as those new to it. So many of these stories I would pay good money to read if they were made into a series. I really enjoy how tenderly these stories are put forth. Just pure love, in one form or another. Now I'm anxious to read the next book in the series. Ah, the anticipation is delicious, isn't it?

最喜歡睜開雙眼,但令人疑惑(劇情及畫風方面)的故事也增加了,如果雲端書庫沒上新集數應該不會看下去吧。
