Full disclosure:
1. I did not finish it.
2. How to Win Friends and Influence People is perhaps my favorite book of all time.
All that said, this was very disappointing from the very beginning. The first nugget of wisdom/advice was to be assertive with your executive team (management) and, in modern times, that advice would destroy your career in many professional environments.
As a career professional, if the first chapter has horrible advice like that, I don't recommend reading further.
